clicking "view new content" from forum section

this is very minor.... i know you have "view new content" in non-forum (thread) pages like profiles.

hi jeff,

hope things are going well.

let's say, i'm viewing all the recent threads on any device / browser combo.

URL = http://community.brickpicker.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=forums

When I click on the "view new content" link again, a new page loads and it reads, "Sorry, no new content found."
URL = http://community.brickpicker.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20forums

 - i then need to click the "forum" and "view new content" links again.

When clicking on "view new content" from the "http://community.brickpicker.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=forums" page, can it just reload the page?    this would be the same as clicking refresh / reload using the browser to see new threads on the page and clicking "view new content" from w/in any thread.

i only noticed this because there are times when i step away from the ipad or computer for 5+ mins and click  "view new content" to see the new threads..

From what I can see, it looks like the people who make this forum are getting fairly close to releasing the v4.0 which will be responsive and they are making sure that it is mobile friendly.  If it is, then we will make a decision on what we will do with that mobile app.  It costs $40 a month for the license to use it.  It's not a lot of money, but if it's not really needed anymore, then why waste it.  I don't control the code and updates for it are slow.  I will be very happy if the new version of the forum does everything.  I just wanted  to the option for people to use

thanks jeff. totally agree on the license cost.   i deal with licenses every year at work. $ :(

i don't see this behavior on the mobile app. just regular the web browsers using the ipad and laptops / desktops.  not sure if the "view new content" link is controlled by the vendor's code since i never used it from at coding level.  thanks again.

I apologize, i thought this was in the app.  It seems like they are in crunch mode to finally get this new version released. When I am reading their support forum, they seem to answer devastating bugs and I have not seen an update in months other than small fixes for possible security issues.

You can actually force the "new content" page to display every thread updated in the past 24 hours.  Any threads with new posts since your last visit will be bolded on the screen.  The rest of threads already read by you will be in regular fonts.  So you get to see any new updates without losing the ability to access other threads you have visited already.

Not that is matters, but the problem is carriage returns around the search_app parameter:

<li id='nav_explore' class='right'> <a href='http://community.brickpicker.com/index.php?app=core&amp;module=search&amp;do=viewNewContent&amp;search_app=

                    forums

                    ' accesskey='2'>View New Content</a> </li>

Do me a favor, down at the bottom left corner (under the ads) is a link to "Change Theme".  There will be an option there for "Brickpicker Simple"   This is basically a barebones theme template that I can see does not have any spaces/breaks in that button link.  Let me know if anything is different if you use that.  If it works correctly, then I know what to look for.  If it doesn't work any different, then there is some other issue.  I have clicked that "View new content" link maybe 3 times, so we need to narrow down the issue you are having.
