  1. I've noticed Lego now has the Yellow Submarine sets discounted and "out of stock" not backordered, or "temporarily out of stock". I've seen it out of on sale in a few places, I have two, I want to keep a few for later, I could get as many as I wanted for $52 CAD, or 42 USD, any comments?
  2. I've noticed the Yellow Submarine set has been on sale at shop at home for a little while now. Generally Lego marks stuff down before it retires, but the Yellow Submarine is available for backorder... the backorder makes me skeptical, but all other things seem to point to it retiring soon. I would like to buy a few, but was curious to see what everyone here would say about the sale and potential retirement? I couldn't find much on the web. No doubt it will do well after it does retire...
  3. Your right, about it all. Very informative. Thank you. I don't know how any one every started investing in lego without forums like these!
  4. Yeah Canada, I think I might just make one order... of three or something, we'll see... you're right, I'm playing it close already...
  5. Thanks for putting it all together for me! Makes it much clearer. One last question, maybe this is crazy, but would it be worth while to pay for express shipping? And would it be too dangerous to list them before they arrive, as to try to get in the window a little earlier, they shouldn't take more than 3-5 days to arrive, I'm about a hour away from where they ship. Maybe I make an extra sale or two by listing earlier...?
  6. And that's pretty far fetched isn't it...? Tough sell at 3x retail when they can wait 2 weeks...
  7. Sounds good, but what do you mean by not being there on the day of? Will there be a market once they're released to everyone?
  8. You seem to know about it then, how much more do people normally sell them for? I was hoping to shoot for double... maybe it's not worth it if every one else's does it same at the same price point.
  9. I thought about that, I'm about an hour from where they ship and would probably make it by Friday if I ordered on a Monday... maybe not. I did think about though...its tough. Maybe I'll just make one order and hope for the best... Any idea how many people are really VIP members? Like how many people wouldn't want/have the early access?
  10. Perhaps in one order, 1 Batman, 2 Belle, and in a second 1 Batman, and 2 Beasts? 2 orders shipped free, and 2 posters...
  11. The limit is advertised as 2, anyone know if that is per order? Or per customer? I figure the batsman one would be the most popular. I think I'll make one order of 3, 2 batmans, and one other, that gives me free shipping and the free poster which I also intent to flip. If I can sell those, and quickly, then I'll go back in and order my "significant quality". Anyone know if many many order of 3 will get me banned? Order 3 at a time gives me more posters, not that they will have much value... but it's free and free is free. My last decision would be, after Bateman, what would the most valuable one be? Any ideas?
  12. So my next question, for anyone who feels they could answer it, would be what will the most popular, in demand sets be, in two weeks before they pop on shelves for everyone in particular?
  13. Well, to answer question number 1. As a starter, "significant number" is probably much less than what you would consider it. Maybe only 2-3 of the top few most popular. Follow up question, Lego bans people? This lego investing thing is no joke! As for questions 2: I take that as a good sign, but I wouldn't tell you, because if I though your strategy in telling me something was bad, I'd tell you but if it was good, than I wouldn't tell you it was. So I'm not going to tell youweather or not I think it's a good idea. Hahaha! Thanks! Sounds fun! I'm in! Banned by a toy company!
  14. I'm interigued by these... I'm new to this, but my thought was to buy a significant number of them on the 15th when they are available to VIP members and post them on EBay/Bricklink right away. Perhaps people unaware of or not interested in the VIP program would pay above/double retail? Any thoughts/suggestions on that idea?
  15. Interesting, they have a limit of 12, but perhaps I could get more if I went in store. How much do compete sets go for?
  16. Found a deal on these individually near me, what is the value in them now and later? Sealed in their random packs, or opened and advertised for what they are?
  17. Anyone know where I could get a few in Canada?
  18. Great information, I'll keep the tips in mind, thanks!
  19. I'll definitely look into Scooby Doo, never though of that! That's for the tips much Appreciated!
  20. Thinking of buying a couple of these myself, just starting out, how long should I wait before selling them? They're already selling for $60 on eBay. Also, are these any other tips/good sets to start out with you could recommend?
