This one seems like a pretty good deal. Those old train stations did well.

Thanks! Though I honestly never left, just have a different job and personal situation which leave me with much less time to do more than just follow forum discussion. But I am still here enjoying the stuff you guys do Even my mom didn't think I was special. This explains it.

It's broken - has been for a long time. I spend thousands of dollars on Ebay and have made them aware of it since forever. They always acknowledge I should be a part of it, never am. Honestly Ebay is pretty awful as a company...

75097 - Star Wars Advent Calendar 2015
DoNotInsertIntoMouth replied to fuzzy_bricks's topic in Seasonal
I worried a bit about this one this year. A lot of resellers jumped on it and it ran OOS immediately. Hopefully that doesn't curb interest in it. I bought 5, but can't decide whether I stick it out of dump them. -
10240 - UCS: Red Five X-wing Starfighter
DoNotInsertIntoMouth replied to Mos_Eisley's topic in Star Wars Sets
The star wars hype is in everything. I recently started dabbling in Arcade Machines - Star wars machines have really risen in price over the last year or two. Its crazy. As for the Xwing, I think this one could stick around for a while with the new movies without another Xwing around. It would be nice if it retired though, because those of us with stacks of 9493 have a pretty obvious ceiling on where the set can go. But at the same time, you have to imagine another remake it literally right around the corner. -
INVESTorSELL.com...NEW Website For Resellers and Collectors!!!

Did you and Jeff figure out some way to make the day 36 hours? lol -
Ill tell you from tons of experience. Box condition matters soooooo little. How you sell, list, detail, etc. an item matters much more. Your reputation where ever you sell, etc. IN this case, its more trouble for you to send it back. If you resell that later, you wont have trouble selling it. Just mention it to the seller so they know to pay better attention next time (we can all be better sellers) and then you are good. Enjoy a great set.

I shipped the wrong item, how do I get it back?
DoNotInsertIntoMouth replied to beartrapper's topic in eBay Marketplace
Yeah I've gone through this more than once. Just create a label for them and then send them a PDF of it and see if they can print it out, etc. and do a USPS pickup. Its riskier, but in a few cases, I have had them ship them directly to each other. Usually I try to talk to them on the phone and make sure they understand and are cool with it. Its not a fun situation. Most of my cases have been with minifigures so I have just let them keep them and shipped them the right item. but obviously with sets it's different -
So fun story about the even worse decline of Ebay seller appreciation: I had a customer open a case saying their item was never delivered. The tracking shows delivered. It was a first class delivery, but shows delivered. I asked the buyer to talk to their local post office, find out if the carrier remembers delivering it, etc. The buyer instead decided to not say another word to me and send the case to Ebay. Ebay of course decides in their favor. The reasoning: I provided insufficient tracking. That is exactly what it said. SO: I appealed. Provided all the tracking, explaining that the buyer said nothing at all to me and could just be trying to keep the item. I provided tracking straight from the USPS website, info showing me deliver it to the carrier and the sales order from Ebay. Appeal denied: Insufficient tracking They refunded the buyer from my paypal account. I guess I just need to literally add signature confirmation to everything at this point.

eBay buyer protection question
DoNotInsertIntoMouth replied to Deadfraggle's topic in eBay Marketplace
I have a couple of things I would think about: - How long has it been? Alert the post office again and definitely keep talking to them about it. During the Christmas season, Scans are not even close to trustworthy with this company. Case and point: 1. I had one customer whose item showed that it was never checked in, never moved anywhere, looked like I just printed the label and never sent it. 2 weeks after, it just shows up at his door. 1 day after - Scans showed up (but with bogus dates and times). 2. Had about 15+ packages this year that weren't scanned at the first two places, then just showed up at the house. 3. Had two packages show delivered - but weren't. They were delivered several days later. There are more, but the point is that USPS is literally awful at the one thing they do - deliver packages. So I would be skeptical that it was ever actually delivered. They aren't losing 8 BIllion a year because they are good at it... At the post office, ask them if you have any packages in the pile "postage due". I constantly have stuff sent to me that gets accidentally or legitimately put in that pile, then they never give me a card telling me, or it just shows delivered. Make them look - this has happened multiple times. As for the Ebay part - ask the seller if he bought insurance on it. I generally always do if its a big purchase for cases like this (I normally send more expensive items with FEDEX anyway since they are a real shipping company). I wouldn't open a buyer protection case until you try to work it out with him. He is justified to think it may be a scam - I get a couple scam messages a week. I would suggest calling him - ask for his phone number. People are way different behind email. -
Does it bother anyone this still hasn't sold out at Amazon? Feel like this one isn't as popular as the others.
-
The old ones will sell because they are accessory sets. You can keep building more and more with them. You don't want just one of them. And they compliment the others.
-
Things are down - its definitely more sellers. In Christmas last year I had 200 items throughout Christmas and about 10K of inventory. Dec was 20K ish in sales. This year I have just under 500 items, 30K of inventory and sales are on pace for about 24K. It will be like this more and more every year. Just how it is. You have a link to your store? You can PM it but I don't mind helping to sort out if its just how you list, etc. I have definitely figured a lot of things out in getting things to sell.

I don't know that its a failure, but its not the Tie fighter. There have been many more versions of the X-wing - and the last 2-3 did nothing in the after market. I think this one will do ok just because of where Lego is at. If none ship really next year it will grow well. But for me its a quick gainer, dump early. If I get $100ish for all the ones I have, I am out.

Right but it didn't come with the 60$ game.

I ordered one so I will let people know. -
Lol sorry - Ebay. http://deals.ebay.com/5001685996 I thought I had put them in.
-
Hopefully I wont cause myself to not get this by sharing it, lol. WII U on Sunday night (it looks like, but can't tell yet) for $250. It comes with Super Smash bros (which is amazing) and its a Skylander copy (whatever the hell that means). Anyway, its a pretty good deal. I plan to use the Ebay gift cards bringing it down to $235.
-
They sell out every year... and I make a stupid amount on the stash of them I saved throughout the year. Buy them quick. lol. Sell them as a set of 4 with the new one for $189ish.
-
I bought them at 60$. I am fine with it at 100$ or over. Fees and shipping for me on Ebay will be 20$ish. Pull 20$ in on a 60$ price tag isn't bad for an easy Christmas flip. I would agree $120 is way better tho.

Yeah so lets clear out TRU? I just bought 4. Lets get it going.
