  1. I am not sure if selling custom ones is legitimate. Some are even selling figures called Lego compatible. I do not think those have any collectible value. I have to be really carefully when I look for figures on eBay. Even so, I am worried I may still get fake ones. For those expensive figures like those in the cloud city, I chose to buy sealed sets. I would rather pay more to be safe. The problem is that I have spent too much money on too many sealed sets and have no place for them... What an expensive hobby!
  2. Thank you for your suggestions. I will talk to the seller and ask what he can do.
  3. I left positive feedback after I received the package and did not file a claim. The seller was pretty responsive too and I do not want to ruin his 100% positive feedback for $20. I will just put it aside with my real Jango Fett, reminding me not to buy loose expensive figures.
  4. Those parts do have Lego printed on them. I guess it is just the printing on the torso is fake. The printing on the head is fake too. I bought it through an eBay auction from a seller with 100% positive feedback.
  5. Thank you for your information. Any suggestions how to prevent this? I am thinking about putting them in a case for display only. But I do not know what kind of case to use. I have not opened the bags and hope there are no problems.
  6. I decided to collect Star Wars minifigures and reluctantly paid about $1k for a new 10123. I really wanted those figures, but hesitated to buy loose ones or used ones. There are just so many custom ones out there and I do not want to risk paying a few hundred dollars for some fake ones. The condition of used ones is hard to tell from pictures and I heard that this set did not age well and many Boba Fett figures may have cracks. My question is how to protect those figures after the bag is opened. I do not want to see cracks or discoloration down the road. My kid keeps bugging me to open the bags and build the set. Do not know how long he can wait. I bought a chrome darth Vader in a sealed bag from Amazon a couple weeks ago. It already has two cracks in the torso even it is sealed. I returned it, but have not got my money back yet. I di do not think Lego will release those figures. They always make changes or improvements. These figures are expensive mostly because they are rare, not because they are good.
  7. Thank you for your help. The figure is not glued. Thumper is right that the line below the neck is different and poorly defined. The lines at the bottom of this torso are too thick too. I guess this is a fake figure. It is not glued together and I do not see an abnormal hole under his hair. I attached another picture. I did check keychains and pens, but could not find a similar one. I could not even find blue legs with a brown hip. I bought this one from eBay through an auction for about $20. It is a lesson learned. I plan to collect all Star Wars minifigures and I think I have to be extra careful with expensive figures. There are too many custom made ones. Thanks again for your kind help.
  8. I guess there may be just some extra replacement parts left. When I called them on the phone, they told me they did not have it. But they shipped the sound brick to me as a surprise. I was also able to order some retired parts like the window in cafe corner and the 1x8 sand green brick for green grocer. But they are out of stock online now.
  9. There's a very good chance you got the right part. I have been looking for a backup sound brick for my grand carasousel. I was able to order one on Lego's new replacement website. I was surprised when I received it. It was brand new and works very well. Not I do not have to worry my old sound brick may break after a few years.
