  1. The value is in the eye of the beholder... To some they are worth $0, and others maybe $150-$200 Store displays are pretty unique, which means your marketplace is pretty small. I love em, but they do take up space. http://blog.brickpicker.com/lego-displays-cool-or-for-fools/
  2. Just got back from the Lego store...super lame Only the crappy 10% off stuff
  3. Welcome fellow Vancouverite!
  4. OMG! I loved the Gobstoppers...the sour middle...Yum!
  5. I love getting that parking stall closest to the door of a store or restaurant ! ( I then say "Awwwe yeah! That's right *******! Rock star parking!)
  6. I love a good poop!
  7. Sets: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7694-1 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7697-1 the larger one is: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7699-1
  8. Part 2515 Wheel Hard Plastic Large (54mm D. x 30mm) or Part 2573 Wheel Hard Plastic Giant (71mm D. x 47mm) http://www.bricklink.com/PL/2515.gif?0
  9. I have done several orders. It is expensive from a Brinklink point of view, but it is nice to know that the pieces are brand new. I only use VIP points to buy pick a brick and when they offer free shipping for members. You can also order from the missing parts section. You tally up a list from sets you search from, submit and you will get an email back with prices. These are parts not normally in pick a brick and come from Denmark. This is not cost effective though. The quote is generally high.
  10. Looks like it is time to invest in a portable x-ray screen Ideal for use in security, military, police and LEGO Brickpickers Suspect bag and package inspection EOD evaluation Vehicle inspection Customs searches including petrol tanks, airbags, wheels and dashboards Counter surveillance sweeps and through-wall scanning LEGO Investing
  11. Craigslist is great to find used IKEA furniture, especially Detolf cabs. You can usually get these for $20-25 already built. I wish I had more of these discontinued IKEA cabs (called Nartorp), but I look all the time on CL.
  12. I am really looking forward to the Ghostbusters set!
  13. That sounds like a great deal to cherish for yourself!
  14. I am pretty sure they are 2 modified bricks with the slopes glued or taped on the sides. Look how the front cheese slope is set back. x2
  15. They seem to be selling well at all locations I go to. I think you are right in that younger fans will be picking these up as well as completionists. The Falcon was sold out everywhere. It could be a gem if it does well and kids rip them open, and Lego has a limited production run to be on the safe side.
  16. I would say most Modular sets would be a solid investment for 5+ years.
  17. LOL, you bought the lot off Craigslist! That was a good deal. I would be interested in the Space Police guys or be wiling to trade for em
  18. Kinda lame they still charge shipping even if you choose store pickup. After taxes and shipping weathertop is $63...blah I hate 12% tax in BC
  19. Welcome! This site makes me want to buy more! At least it teaches you to save money and make it go further with smart purchases. It also Makes me jealous of the wicked deals in the US. All we have here in Canada are expensive toys and high tax, but at least we say thank you. I guess I should not complain, Australia is not cheap either!
  20. LOL! I loved Starcom. These toys were awesome...at least that's how I remember them You are talking about the laser rat. http://www.parrygamepreserve.com/toys/starcom/laserRAT.php
  21. Used Medieval Market Village 10193 I have wanted this for so long! I think I will modify it a bit to add to my Hobbit Lake town scene!
  22. Or the piece of junk they call a tank...lol The only good thing in the set are the figs.
  23. I'm only speculating here, but I suspect that marketing and merchandising lies behind this particular decision. think about all the toys and spin off of this. Disney does not want to show that, so it will move away from the original thoughts from the comic books and make it "Hollywood"
  24. I do no see how anyone can complain about this set vs. any set with Darth Vader or Emperor Palpatine. Darth Sideous is the symbol of evil and his political authoritarian regime. This is seen as the same as Hitler's rise and absolute power as chancellor. Good vs. Bad, and Lego still shows that the good guy "wins" nuff said
  25. All the items marked "clearance" on the web have not been at my local Walmart since November booo
