  1. Just to point this out: Rogue One is reportedly not about Rogue Squadron. It is about a group of rebels stealing the Death Star plans. Could it have X-Wings in it? Sure. But it's not an X-Wing movie according to this: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/04/19/star-wars-celebration-rogue-one-footage-and-premise-revealed Do with this information what you will.
  2. I wouldn't mind seeing that new Star Destroyer-esque ship at some point in the future . . .
  3. I'm building this set right now and I agree. Extremely fun build and I'm really impressed with the internal design and the overall size. Very, very cool set.
  4. Nice job on that Wolf too!
  5. I built the new episode VII TIE fighter last night/early this morning and I gotta say, I really like this set. I don't have any of the previous TIEs to compare it with but it was a fun build, it's solid, and l really like the look of it--the red on black really pops. The price per piece on this set is out of whack, as many have pointed out, but it was the one that really jumped out at me when I saw the new sets and to me, the hoses on the pilot helmets and the translucent/printed fuselage pieces are worth the extra coin. That said, if you're more patient than I am I'm sure you'll be able to pick it up on sale at some point.
  6. Nice. Very very nice. I'm building my Kre-o Terror Drome right now. I know Kre-o is not on par with Lego, but I really enjoy my Kre-o Joe collection. They did it right enough especially concerning the figures. Plus, it was collecting that line that brought me on to Lego.
  7. That's a nice squadron you got there . . .
  8. I'm honestly not a huge fan of the set as a whole but it's got a lot of great individual pieces that would be great add-ons to MF sets, etc.. I wish a few of the pumpins had Jack O'Lantern faces too. Still, a nice set for $10.00.
  9. It's because Lando broke off the round one while attacking the 2nd Death Star . . . this one has a lower profile making it less likely for that sort of thing to happen again.
  10. THAT is a Batcave!
  11. I expect we'll see the fall wave previewed at SDCC later this summer.
  12. I love those planes from a few posts up. Reminds me of the game Crimson Skies.
  13. And let's not forget the movie the show was based on:
  14. I read this and understood exactly what it meant without even having to think about it. I've either reached a new level of Brickpicker Zen or I've spent way too much time here over the last year . . .
  15. Moro Dragon might be the first (and only) Ninjago set I pick up. I don't care about the figures but that dragon is AWESOME and would look great in and old school D&D type MOC.
  16. And Harley is different.
  17. More piecs than Red 5 but less than Slave 1 (plus all the figures you get with Slave 1)--This looks cool but Slave 1 still the most bang for your UCS buck thus far IMHO.
  18. Wow--an exclusive (so far) minifigure in a Jr's set--Green Goblin is a must have for Spidey fans.
  19. That's interesting . . . did you happen to ask if they expected to get anymore Red-5's?
  20. Raven, Excellent point. Thanks for that.
  21. So I'm starting to look at this set now--in part because of this thread and in part because I do like the set. I'm also a big Star Wars fan so I get all the "iconic"/significance stuff etc. I'm trying to be objective here though so I'd be interested on any opinions on this from anyone who feels like it's worth weighing in on. I also apologize for any redunancy to previous posts. Basically, my question is: if you got $199.99 to spend on a set why do you buy Red 5 instead of Slave 1--other than the difference in release date/immenence of EOL--obviously Slave 1 will retire much later (or we expect it will). With Slave 1 you get 1996 pieces as opposed to 1559 with Red-5 With Slave 1 you get 4 minifigures including the most detalied Boba Fett to date (this figure alone is already bringing some good money; if it stays exclusive it always will). Red-5 gets you R-2. Either Slave 1 is underpriced or Red-5 is overpriced. If both were released on the same day/retiring on the same day and you could only pick one, which would it be? When I put it to myself like that it's Slave 1 hands down from both a collector and investor perspective. If you're looking to invest $199.99 on someting that will retire before Slave 1 I'm also not sure Red-5 is the best option (though again, I really do like the set--which maybe says something too--it's a hot looking X-Wing and that'll be enough to carry it regardless of piece count and figures . . .). One more thought--we've got a UCS TIE fighter coming. This could pair up real nice with Red-5. If Red-5 is going/gone when the TIE releases does that also help it?
  22. I wonder why Luke has a blue lightsaber . . .
  23. I like this. As stated in the video, the helicarrier has a long history in the marvel comics and is about the most iconic "big" vehicle as you're going to find in the super hero comic book world (not talking about batmobiles here). It's also a centerpiece of both the Avengers and Winter Soldier films. I like it better than the SSD as it has a lot more variety to it and looks like a much more fun build. As a ***.I. Joe junkie from the 80's it also reminds me a bit of the USS Flagg which was one of the most (if not the most) epic toys ever made. I also personally enjoy "playsets" more than "vehicles" and this has elements of both. The power function option makes it even better. I have yet to pull the trigger on a $200+ set, but after seeing this I'm not sure how much longer that will be the case. Very cool that Lego is making this.
  24. Reminds me of a moderninzed Thundercracker. Cool jet regardless with definate military lines. Lego loosening up on that perhaps?
  25. I think this is definately more of a movie Hulk.
