Stopped by a couple of Walmarts while on a business trip to the middle of nowhere, South Carolina this week. Got 30 series 5 minifigs @ $2 each, and 2 Creator Forest Animals @ $10 each.
The Legoland Discovery store near me has put sets out early, and they often have the harder to find sets. I've gotten both the Mars Rover and Delorean a couple weeks early there. I may check them tomorrow for the Ecto-1.
Came across 9 John Hancocks (21001) at TRU today. $7.79 each.
I was shocked and did a double take when I saw them on the shelf, considering these have been retired for what, over two years? Easily the best random find I've come across so far!
Hmm....there's only one Wal-Mart near me that ever has Minifigs, and I think they put the Series 11's out a couple weeks early. Guess I'll be stopping by there this evening!
I came across this site with a number of modular MOCs:
http://modularsbykristel.com
The majority of them require payment for instructions but he has a couple free downloads. I'm currently working on Bricklinking pieces to build the White Picket Fences townhouse. It's fairy simple, but should fit in nice with my other modulars, plus it doesn't have many unique/expensive pieces.
I had some success with Target clearances today. I got:
9449 Ultra Sonic Raider - $40
2 79000 Riddles for the Ring - $5/ea
79109 LR Colby Showdown - $25
Hopefully you're not waiting too long as I've never seen clearance price drops at any of the Wal-Marts near me. I've been eying a few sets for months with no change
Yes. Two of my three 42000s were damaged in shipment. The two replacements were also damaged and I refused delivery. In the end, the damage wasn't too bad and I didn't want to keep dealing with it, so I ended up getting a small discount (15%) and just kept the damaged items.
Well I just picked up 2 crawlers from the Westchester Lego store, with my VIP card, no issues at all. It seems that any limit restrictions that do exist are not being enforced consistently, but I guess that's not a big surprise.
