I have an opportunity to buy the Ferrari 599 GTB for relatively cheap, $100 but its missing a few pieces. Without knowing which ones are missing, thinking its a bit risky as I've heard some of these may be hard to locate. Also, the reason for buying would be to build rather than investment. Is it difficult to source some of the rare pieces in this model?

the additional discount towards the end of the sale period appears to be myer's strategy as they did that last time when they offered the buy 2 get 1 free on the last few days of the July sale. unfortunately most of the popular items are gone by then

decided to try and get the 10% discount retrospectively, went back with my receipt and they gave me back the $30. brilliant customer service from myer especially considering i never had the coupon but i did have a myer one card. thanks for the heads up on this kishidan

i got the TB but i didn't know about the additional 10%, shame as i have a myer one memebership

shopforme appears to have an upcoming sale today starting at 11am with new deals every hour, might be worth checking out

sounds like they're getting a shipment in prior to the sale so if you're willing to take the risk i'd hold off till then.

Not yet i'm on a tight budget.....i got a two year old and another one on the way so my lego spending is constrained. i'm planning on getting one large set by the end of this year which is either going to be SSD or the TB.

how much is shipping from there? i assume it would be about 100 euros which would bring the total cost to just under $600 i think

as the post says any tips on where I can source the star wars SSD for the best price to Australia? fishpond appears to have had the best deal recently at around $450 delivered but it seemed to have only lasted a short time and I missed it!

the SSD deal has ended, now its $599! i didn't know they change so fast oh well

i don't mind delivery delays since i'm not looking to build or sell in the near term. i'll make a call on this soon and i'll need to put in my "capital expenditure proposal" to my "boss" (i.e. wife) but considering i'm already over my lego budget for the year it will be a tough sell thanks for the prompt feedback guys, i'll let you know how i get on

Anyone ever bought any Lego off fishpond? If so would appreciate any thoughts on your experience i.e. any damage to box, timing of delivery etc etc Cheers

yeah i sort of expected that for the VW but they still have plenty of the GP racers, to the extent that I was hesitant to get it since it appeared it wasn't selling well .

no it was pure luck as i went in there to check if they still had any of the VW campervans, which of course they didn't

The buy 2 get 1 free was only available for 4 days and i believe it finished on Tuesday so i just got in on the last day. Although I think they still have some good deals as part of the toy sale, i.e Jabba's Palace $150 (down from $200), City Police Station $99 (down from $150) (looks like a massive box for that price - I was really tempted). unfortunately that's it for me for a while - either until Christmas or unless I can offload the ones I just bought
