They would! My parents home burned down and anything we had pictures of or recovered damaged, they were paid. My Dad had an extensive gun collection and received at or above current appraised values. I'm a little disappointed I won't have those guns to carry down to my kids, but I'm glad he was paid.3 points

Yup free shipping. Or is it? I always include the shipping price in my overall price listing and label it free shipping when it's not. eBay US takes a cut on final selling price, with or without shipping price.3 points

Count me as one(and I'm pretty tough on new sets) who actually sees legit value in this set for the carnival layout theme from CREATOR. Sure, those that like their layouts to be all from one theme will poo-poo at the idea of mixing a FRIENDS coaster with CREATOR carnival rides....BUT, this coaster is, more or less, a version of The Sooper Jet; a popular traveling roller coaster (in the U.S. at least) for young children. Think about it people. A carnival is different than an amusement park in that they actually need to take down the rides to move them. A giant rollercoaster doesn't afford that luxury. They've showcased that with Mixer. This FRIENDS coaster is perfect for that. Mod out a loading area with pieces, maybe make the Ferris Wheel smaller (to make it a little kids wheel), keep the other little ride and the booths and add a couple of Carnie trucks (ala the Mixer) and you have the perfect "little kids" area for your carnival.3 points

Painful to follow up those beautiful shots with these horrible iPhone ones... I'll post this up in the BP MOCs thread when it's completed, but I spent most of Friday sorting bricks I'd already ordered, disassembling (and sorting) a Brick Bounty, and cracking open and parting out a second Brick Bounty. My total build is still missing about 90 parts I need to order, but I had enough bulk to get started. My goal is to have a customized Pirate operated ship to pair with my Imperial Flagship. Many weeks spent in LDD fine tuning the model, with lots of inspiration drawn from the original Flagship, but many of the parts borrowed from the Brick Bounty. Many more were purchased. Total count of 1968 pieces. Here was the first portion of my progress yesterday! (It won't let me add more pics so I'll have to add the rest later on.)2 points

Eventually, all of the disdain for Superheroes will translate into lower aftermarket supply and good earnings. Today, I fear, is not that day.2 points

I want to like the Sinestro deal, but with the recent... Underwhelming performance of Super Hero sets, it's hard to want to buy in at anything more than 50% off.2 points

76025 - Green Lantern vs. Sinestro =$13.47 each if you buy 3 using promo code LEGO at Target.com.2 points

We, built it and it's terribly small. I actually added on to the containment cage to make it significant enough to hold the raptors. I can see why parents would be upset when it took their kids a 1/2 hour to build it. You are basically buying the exclusive raptors.2 points

Sorting the pieces detracts from the adventure but it's a lot better than a conference call.2 points

I've sold through a bunch of them at various price points since last Fall and I still have some listed, but I have some set aside for long-term too. I did order max 5 on this set at S@H more than once and got lucky.2 points

67% RRP means a 33% discount. It's better than I've ever seen it sold for here in The Netherlands. Currently Amazon Germany is selling it for ~ €116 which is about 28% discount on an RRP of €160. So 33% discount is already cheaper than what I paid for the 75105 last year when I bought one for myself (€121, or 24% discount). Oh well, c'est la vie. At the time I thought it was a really good deal, but I had just started with LEGO investing that time. What did I know about prices and how much discount is possible when you're patient? And that's where the experience of long-time Lego investors comes into play: knowing what discounts are feasable and when is the best time to strike. Ultimately it's the gamble when you see a discount: is this the best deal I'll ever have on it, or will it get even more discounted? And if you wait too long you may not get that deal any longer and you'll finally have to buy at a higher price. I'm sure every LEGO investor here has bought sets when they thought the discount wouldn't get any deeper, and then they saw the same set at an even higher discount a while later. Keep in mind that people love to show off and tell here about the awesome deal they scored, but will rather keep quiet about the mistakes they made. Returning to your question: should you purchase 75105 now at 67% RRP, is something you have to decide for yourself. Other Brickpickers here won't buy non-exclusives at less than 40% discount, but that's their choice/strategy. This set will not retire any time soon, but if you don't mind holding it for a few more years knowing you got it at a decent discount, then it may be worth it for you.2 points

That's why I was relieved when the Time Warner/Comcast merger got cancelled (I have TW at home). Unfortunately, last week I got a letter that they are now merging with Charter, and I'm fearing another "we are making things better for you" strategy in which they will raise my prices or install caps or whatever. I'm a cord-cutter, so no TV bundles in my house, which is what they continuously try to sell me. Lucky enough I have an alternative offering (compared to the many US residents who only have 1 possible provider) to whom I can switch over at a moment's notice.1 point

It really doesn't go down that much ... 400+ sellers on Satna Workshop . Enough said1 point

Always. Might make a nice gift to bundle with Birds or something like that but I don´t think it will have any resale value.1 point

40% of Amazon's sales are 3rd party merchants. Not sure how much of that is FBA but I would guess a majority. They may have stuffed warehouses but that doesn't mean they aren't profiting.1 point

Pulled the trigger on a 2nd ed set with box and everything instead. Crazy expensive, but that's the price.. Can't wait1 point

Didn't buy it today but finally came in the mail! My helicarrier! Used about 100 dollars worth of points on it. In the process of moving and 1/4 of my hoard is behind my sofa at the moment lol...1 point

I generally try to avoiding posting after @midbenne posts his awesome pictures, but the kids finished The Phantom 75048 last night and combined it with the Ghost they built last week. Now all they have left to build from my son's bday stash is Kylo Ren's Comand Shuttle. Luckily my birthday is this weekend...1 point

It took 10 weeks to crack this set open, but we finally broke down and built the Ferris Wheel on the weekend. What an awful, repetitive build but there is really is no alternative when you are building something like this and this is probably true for manufacturing a real life Ferris Wheel as well. This set is a gorgeous display piece, with a really nice selection of minifigures and I currently have it in the middle of a block of modular buildings as it towers over the people ready for a mechanical malfunction to annihilate my town! (that or a Stay Puft AKA toddler attack) I will add alternative colors to the carriages but they haven't arrived yet.1 point

Today I finally got around to building some frames to display some of my Minifig collection! Happy with the outcome, should look sweet on the wall!!1 point

Finished this beauty over the weekend and it is very impressive build by the user Pvdb. It was a tricky build and you definitely should be proficient in building with Technic and have lots of experience as the instructions are not nearly as straight forward as TLG instructions. Here is the Koenigsegg One:1. More pictures, videos and info can be found here.1 point

6344 Jet Speed Justice from 1993. I'm helping out a fellow LUG member who wants to rebuild a ton of sets he has in storage. Everything is complete and bagged and instructions are included. Makes life pretty easy.1 point

Started messing around with some of my macro filters...The depth of field is literally razor thin. I was about 4" in front of these guys while shooting , maybe less...I think I will begin shooting a few more mini figs like this...I like the results but have to play around more with the subject matter, sharkie and chen were just the first victims to get shot.1 point
