  2. No price is too high for an SSD. I'm snapping up all I can right now at $800, 'cause some anonymous guy on this site told me it's sure to hit $2k by this time next year. Last Fall, I was buying SSD's at $700 and passing up HH and TH at MSRP to free up funds. So far that hasn't worked out, but I'm sure it will given time. After putting all my retirement funds into Phoenix real estate in 2006 and buying shares in offshore oil drillers on margin last summer, it's a relief to have finally found a sure-fire investment in SSD's at 2 x MSRP!

  7. I believe the discount in seller fees is 1% for a basic store so you should look at your total final value fee amount paid in an average month and see what that 1% would mean to you. I signed up for a store last year before Christmas and I'm glad I did. You get 150 free listings a month and it gives you a lot of freedom to not have to worry about using free listings or paying for listings individually.

  8. Set goes OOS - "OMG it's retiring!" Set is in stock - "Final stock before supply runs dry! OMG it's retiring" Give it a rest, not every set is retiring.

  12. If you sell 10 of these at current price? Man! That is some serious cash that needs some serious thinking. I would buy a few Tumblers and invest the rest in a nice far tropic paradise holiday alone with my wife.

  14. I guess one should not overestimate potential buyers' knowledge. Just like the thing with all those stickers on EEE, which 90% of investors know about but maybe less than 1% of all potential buyers - GE imo just looks better on the box than FB for example. So even if every "expert" dislikes GE because of some internal issues, most buyers will judge the book by its cover right away. And not only here but probably in every case of a set. That is also why I've always had a problem with the argument of "a great building experience" of a set. How many buyers will know about that 5 years after EOL? How many will even care if they knew? And how could one ever advertise a great building experience when selling? I'd say: Nobody gives a pooped snack about buidling experience and not about interior detail or any flimsy joint or unstable Tumbler build or anything like that. In a nutshell: What is IN the box, counts significantly less than what is ON the box IMO. Just my opinion. Most people just don't catch up on a set (or anything) they are about to buy. If they want it, they just go buy it. Remorse comes afterwards at the earliest. Just my experience. Never underestimate the apathy and ignorance of people.

  15. Everyone has $$$ in there eyes when a set retires because of the initial price bump. It's a slow climb after the initial little spark. One prime example is the 41999 if anyone cares to go through that thread you will see that most everyone thought that this would be the biggest thing in the history of lego sets. That's not been the case, as if yet anyway and probably wont ever be. IMO of you already have your desired number of the GE then just move along to your next set. By the way the GE is generally considered the worst by many enthusiasts as far as inside detail goes. It is my favorite modular though.

  21. I had intended on only having a store for November and December and going back to a normal account in January, but I liked the way the store functioned and the extra 1% so I find enough items to make it work from a financial standpoint.

  25. so did she deny stealing it and claimed it was hers? i dont want to assume that is what happened because i dont like assuming. if so, I agree with Delorean. The kids learned from that lesson big time because now they know their mom did not buy it and thats all she had to say to get out of it.

  30. Do the seals have the same serial ? If yes, 23g off is a problem. If no, 23g or even 67g is not. Because sometines the instructions and packaging are different. Take a look here: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/10779-70816-bennys-spaceship-spaceship-spaceship/page-2#entry309492 So before doing anything: check if the seals are the same or not.

  33. I think the only difference fee-wise is that with a personal account, your first 5 payments received each month (or year?) don't get charged transaction fees. On the other hand, with the business account you can send invoices, take payment from customers' credit accounts (PayPal credit or PayPal-linked credit cards), etc. You also have instant access to your funds no matter the amount - with personal accounts they will sometimes hold your funds for a period of time (as much as 7 days) before you can use them. I use invoicing frequently and like the flexibility I have to move funds around immediately. The fee increases are negligible and honestly I did not even notice the difference.

  34. Has anyone ever bought Mixels from Japan sellers on Amazon. I need 2 more Velectro to fill out some sets. There are sellers at $16.88 there, wondering if they are US version and not counterfeit. I haven't heard anything about alternative versions of Mixel packaging so I might take a chance on 2 from there. If anyone has any info on the subject, please let me know. Thanks

  35. If you don't like big sets without numbered bags, don't buy the Tower Bridge. Personally, I like the unnumbered bags in those sets. But that's mostly because I'm a parts seller on Bricklink and sets are easier to part out if all the same parts are together in the same bag.

  37. nope, no more communication than usual. maybe the rate of scams for coins is higher than for other items, so the buyers were just extra thankful about not getting schemed. or maybe coin collectors are more active ebay members, as opposed to lego buyers who may be purchasing a set as a one time thing for a birthday or holiday.

  38. Had you communicated with any of them? I think people tend to leave feedback if you've had an exchange.

  44. Try misspelling Millennium with 1 '******' (Millenium) if you are on eBay. Mine were sitting at $220 for too long so I went and copied the title of 1 that had just sold for $230. One of my co-workers pointed out that they spelled Millennium wrong. Over 100 new views in 24 hours and three sales. Wish I would have raised my price higher than $230. Might be worth a shot for you too.
