  1. I just have to say...The TB is an incredible model to display. I'm a huge fan of large intricate sets and the TB is truly awesome for those of you who haven't seen it built. Like a previous post, I never get tired of looking at and admiring it. I've had mine set up and on display for at least 3 years now. This is what I've done to it...I know that its not exactly to scale, but it was pretty fun and I think it looks cool.

  3. Well at least this confirms two characters for the second series of Simpsons minifigures. I have no idea where the dog will end up unless there really will be a second set of the Kwik-E-Mart or perhaps he will get stuck beside one of the other fourteen possible characters. Please note these are works-in-progress. Source: The Brick Fan

  4. I love it when you have 1/2 a dozen big packages to ship out and they are all for EBay Global Shipping Program customers. I live close to Kentucky, so I know all these packages will be less than $8 to ship and most under $6.

  6. I'm not sure why they decided to omit Luke (as a minifig). He's common too, of course, but it is his ship. An X-Wing without Luke is like the Tumbler without Batman.

  12. Depending on how many you have, I would sell a few this Christmas, and wait till next Christmas to sell a majority of them. I think the price will level off around $150-$175 after next Christmas, so there would be no reason to hold it longer.

  14. Why the spoiler tag you ask? Well, let us just say like many of Citizen Bricks' other products, this too is rather 'adult' in material. Don't get weird though; it's still Lego for Pete's sake. Besides it's hilarious and check out those dollar bills! This should be right at home next to the Breaking Bad meth lab. I practically forgot the website link for purchase. Sorry about that.

  17. I think he was pointing to the lack of town hall, grand emporium and pet shop. All of these are expected to retire soon and the packaging lends more credence to the ps retiring sooner rather than later.

  27. I really like it. Not every building can be this perfect piece of architecture. I've been told by a solid source that the Detective Agency is supposed to have some special features, unlike any other Modular.

  28. They even thought of us at BP with our abbreviations to everything! They called it office and not agency so that there is no confusion with Diagon Alley. And thus DO 10246 was born.

  32. <mods, maybe this ought to be moved to the Canada forum section?> What red said... Here's what I generally do: 1) If I believe there is no chance of selling it into the US due to my buy-in cost vs what people south have reported, I price for the Canadian market. So I scour the recently sold and current listings to see what the going rate is for US sellers. Also, I look at what are they charging to ship to Canada and/or are they using the GSP which makes most items over $25 just not worth it (to the educated buyer) if they can buy in Canada. And I price accordingly... usually it means I'm about 15% higher than the US sellers but I'm hoping to sell in Canada anyways. 2) For items where I've had a competitive buy in price, I just accept that I'm making a little less since everyone takes a piece of the pie. For example, I found a dozen Rovers in July at a local mom & pop toy store. My price on them was $39.58 per - I just sold one for $115. US shipped last week to a US buyer. Sure I make less than someone in the US but after exchange, shipping and fees, I took home $55. I'm happy. 3) I usually list in US funds - lately the exchange rate has been in our favour. A gamble I take as I really do believe the US buyers are more sensitive to seeing nice round numbers... Canadians are so used to shopping in the US for deals, I think you can squeeze a few extra bucks out of Canadian buyers this way. 4) ALWAYS print your labels through PayPal for parcels, and NEVER for padded envelopes! You get 10-15% off by printing through them for parcels. PayPal's envelope rate always treats it as if it's a padded envelope that won't fit through the envelope slot. Now they'll often try to get you to pay the full rate at the post office but I personally insist on shipping it as a regular mail item which usually costs between $2 and $4. It's about $12 to send a padded envelope as a parcel which is the same rate as a small box. (unless of course the contents are expensive enough that you can't afford to lose then I'd do it the parcel way as it's trackable) And... just for good measure, I always try to sell stuff locally on Kijiji as well. I've had decent luck, even had a number of out of province buyers find my listings. Always a risk, but I've had no bad experiences meeting in a local parking lot (for expensive stuff), or at my home or mailing things out (invoicing via paypal). Good luck!

  34. Nice to know there are some BP buddies in Montreal. For the Target Gift Guide book, sorry I didn't make it clear and accurate, it is the Target Toy Catalogue, see here: http://flyers.target.ca/flyers/targetcanada-catalogue4?sf_any=true&flyer_run_id=38592&type=1&locale=en&postal_code=h4g2s6&store_code=3704#!/flyers/targetcanada-catalogue4?flyer_run_id=38592. If you don't have one don't worry, as I said in Target they have this booklet piled at every checkout, so just feel free to grab some. I didn't clear the shelf because of following reasons: 1. I just spent about $600 on Lego in Walmart this passed Thursday, so I got a feeling of a little bit been drown by Lego sets... 2. These sets have a long time to reach their EOL, that means capital spent one them will sleep for a while. 3. The only SW set is of Clone Wars, and other sets are from Lego Movie theme, I'm not sure on their investment potential. 4. It is only 50% off (Yes I'm way tooooo much greedy) But I do get some for the coming festival season and my kids, they are: 1. 75013 Star Wars * 4 2. 70804 Lego Movie * 3 3. 70806 Lego Movie * 1 4. 70812 Lego Movie * 1 I visited Target at Angrignon mall and Target at Brossard. I heard a target buddy told an old lady, who want to buy 60049 that they will sure get new shipment of that set in near future, so they might replenish daily (or weekly?) Btw I found in Target Brossard they didn't tag all sets correctly as in Target Angrignon, so 75013 is still labelled $64.99 and 75054 $129.99 but just give it a scan you will find the happy truth. Also in Target Brossard they still have plenty of 70804 and 70806 at around 3:00 pm today. If you have extra energy then you should visit Target store in Candiac ( I didn't go there today) because I believe stores outside Montreal Island will have far less visitors and much higher possibility that you will not be facing empty shelves when you get there. Good luck!

  38. The dangers of CL transactions are highly over-rated. Like Pitbull attacks and school shootings and random cars driving through your living room windows the news always makes it seem a lot more "epidemic" than it is. Bad things sometimes happen, life is uncertain. When stalkers and serial killers are looking for victims, they're typically looking for women living alone. When child molesters are looking for victims, they're typically looking for at-risk latchkey or otherwise unsupervised or unwanted kids. I agree with the garage to discourage lingering - that's the real danger I've always found with CL transactions, the waste of my time when I just want to get the deal done!

  42. With all due respect, if you consider building a LEGO set work, then you will never truly understand LEGO and the finer points of LEGO investing. I am not trying to put you down in anyway. You can be a successful LEGO investor without really "getting it, " just like people invest in stocks or other commodities. Many intelligent people can invest in products they really don't care about and do very well. But I think if you really enjoy the LEGO brick and building LEGO sets, you can take that information and utilize it to your advantage when investing in sets. There is no doubt that some LEGO sets are tedious builds, but I cannot explain the feeling of accomplishment and enjoyment one receives from building with LEGO bricks. It's sort of like investing in wine or fine art. Either you get it or you don't and those who get it have a distinct advantage over those who don't.

  48. I gave up buying more of these. I have 5 now and the last addition to this number was a year ago. This set is waaaayyyy overdue for EOL and although the Sydney Opera has been out for so long, the TB is still alive and kicking. So I diverted the cache flow to sets like the SSD, R2D2 & the modulars etc...
