    Cheapest do-it-yourself ideas I can think of would be a wide roll of white craft paper for a plain background and one of those translucent plastic (HDPE) gallon jugs typically used for distilled water as a makeshift light diffuser lens. Diffusion sheets & fabrics seem comparatively cheap at a quick glance. Cheapest actual lightbox I can find is a tentative $30 tent box through Walmart.
