i was selling 10758 from May - August for $114.99. i could go on and on. the only set that is selling much more from the summer is hp quidditch match - that set is appreciating quickly now. i was selling trex mech battles for $249 in august now under $200. unless you have an ton of crap to move, the holidays are the worst time to sell due to increased fees/shipping cost and increased return percentage and exploding sellers coming out of hibernation (hopefully go back soon). for me the holidays are time to unload the 75% off clearance and the duds.

I understand why everyone wants to use the PPP ratio, but sometimes it just doesn't fully reflect accurately what you are getting with some of these larger sets. (According to the weights on bricklink) 75192 Millennium falcon: 13150 grams / 28.99 lbs = $27.60 per lb of plastic 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer: 12480 grams / 27.51 lbs = $25.45 per lb of plastic 75313 AT-AT: 10708 grams / 23.61 lbs = $33.88 per lb of plastic 75309 Republic Gunship: 5620 grams / 12.39 lbs = $28.25 per lb of plastic I do find it interesting though that the AT-AT comes out to a good chunk higher price for the amount of material you get in the set. We all know there is the huge Disney/Star Wars tax, but I do agree that the AT-AT does appear to be unnecessarily expensive. I think that at the price of $700 it would be a bit more of a reasonable deal. That said, I did buy the set, and it's a beautifully big set as well, but I can understand why the idea of it being too expensive comes from. Sure, if you want to factor in inflation from 2017 the Millennium falcon would cost roughly $907 in todays rates. Which roughly equals out too $31.29 per lb of plastic. In all honesty, in those terms, the AT-AT really isn't that bad of deal. (obviously this is all subjective and everyone's value of worth is completely different.) But this puts it a little better in perspective about where Lego is coming up with the prices, and in all honestly, isn't super out of the line for them and still within reason for the other massive UCS sets that Lego has released recently. For comparison of other big sets: 10276 Colosseum: 10780 grams / 23.76 lbs = $23.15 per lb of plastic 10294 Titanic: 14000 grams / 30.86 lbs = $20.41 per lb of plastic

Nothing to set the world on fire but at SAH, you now get the Flower Cart (30413) with $40 in spending. Not sure if it's restricted themes but works with HP. When it was first available, HP wasn't included.

We had Arlo prior to Eufy, and did like it. But I liked that everything is stored locally with Eufy. I don’t need to archive anything unless I know something happened. Since we bought a new house, we were given a free trail offer with Vivint. It was a cellular based system, so no concerns about WiFi issues.

One problem with Ring is if they are wireless very easy to jam and spray with compressed air and pretty much useless. Someone stole a car recently from my neighbors warehouse and I have cameras on both our units and they jammed the wifi signal and sprayed them as backup. Wired would be best for backup. If you ran through the ring alarm in theory you should get a notification that wifi went out but my alarm is hardwired and was just using ring cameras. Only downfall I can see. Freezes the lens and makes them all look like cracked glass until they thaw out the next morning.

I sent in my 75929 when the going rate was $159.99. It's $128 right now thanks to Toy Planet. SMH. Even though I typically only send in sets that have retired for at least 2 years, even those struggle at the moment. Just went in and did a massive "match the buybox" adjustment - luckily that immediately resulted in several sales, but at a lower price point than where I had hoped to sell based on where prices were over the summer. Glad I sold a bunch in September before the mad holiday rush started. I hope January will be better.

Nobody on BL is reporting any shipping notices for round 1 worldwide yet. USA is supposed to be delayed until 2/22 per BL team. I am thinking these will only be made at 1 factory “S or O” and then be shipped over.

Stopped into local LEGO store again today, the retiring exclusives (Barracuda, Corner Garage, Upside Down, Roller Coaster, etc) are all being restocked pretty deeply. Gingerbread House, Aston Martin, and Harley I did NOT see as being restocked.

Actually 60307 have dipped below 50eur here a couple of times recently. I have problems selling the set but may part it out and just sell the rest without the elephant. On b&p the head is now on sale but not the body. Think it will work out to be about 15ish?

yes - been glitchy - F5 or wait half an hour. i would stick with standard/expedited. 1 day/2 day guarantee - just not worth the headache for promising that kind of delivery and no real price premium for the extra shipping cost. here is a snap of my main shipping template. MA is my home state. i shipped 48x things today - 46 went UPS ground. 2 USPS priority. 2 orders are going west of mississip - guess which ones ->USPS. vast majority is UPS ground to nearby state less than $9 shipping. i would not leave it up to amazon to manage your transit time - lol.

The 2 Bowser’s castles I ordered from Target that came with the warning “might ship in original packaging” just arrived. Huge box, containing two individually boxed sets in their own Target branded shipper. Had to open one of them because of the label that said it didn’t exist Of course the boxes are pristine.

Yes, there are very few TRUE reviewers of LEGO sets. I am a strong believer in Conflict of Interest...ANYONE that gets something for free is not going to be able to be objective...the mere fact they pretend to be so is a huge mislead. In most other fields someone getting the product for free is a huge No No...consider reading an Amazon review or a Yelp review that starts w/ "so I got it for free/ YUP most folks stop reading right there. Its a sham really. Props to Jang. That said Jang's pet peeves are not everyone's pet peeves, so his constant fixation on certain elements can get a bit whiney; but he is consistent and his longevity makes him an excellent resource. He's also Local, well representing the Bay, CA, Americans, and Human Beings in general

So what can you tell us about the recipient's business? How large of an operation are they running? Are they quick-flipping new sets or reselling older retired sets? How long have they been selling? Do they sell throughout the year or only sporadically (i.e., primarily Q4)? What kind of volume are they pushing through Amazon in either units or dollars or both? I'm just curious what caused this person to bubble up and get the letter now versus others. One last question...any chance the person that received the letter lives in Colorado?

The person who received this C&D letter should contact an attorney in order to properly respond to it. That person should be able to find online references for lawyers who are specialized in trademarking and copyrighting and who have experience defending Amazon sellers against such practices. No matter how outrageous the claims look like in this letter unfortunately they come from a legitimate lawyer firm hence there is a real risk of a lawsuit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That letter is consistent with the arguments that they've made on behalf of other manufacturers in court. It remains to be seen whether TLG wants to put this theory of trademark infringement to the test on its products or whether it is simply doing this to scare some segment of the reseller population into backing off, but I wouldn't dismiss this letter as a black-hat tactic. I will say, though, that the law firm missed out on the opportunity to turn up the a-holeishness of the letter to 11 by sending it a week later and demanding a response no later than 5pm on 12/24.

Been selling for 13 years, and the glory days are firmly over. Amazon opened the LEGO gate wide open this season and the sellers are insanely high now on listings. Sets that go on deep discounts will no longer be easy money in one or two years. We have to adjust, but more sets that almost never go on sale. Avoid the big sets because of the massive increasing return fraud we are seeing. Duplo, Disney, Ninjago, and Minecraft (nothing new there) will be heavy hitters moving forward. Bird-E needs to be reported by everyone for his dropshipping, he is toxic.

The return of Toycentric / bird-e has also not helped things. That a s s h o l e artificially keeps prices down. Which is easy to do when you're dropshipping from eBay and taking zero risk yourself to purchase, store and list product. I really hope Amazon gives him the boot again more quickly than they did last time.

I know this is a common complaint most years (usually i'm on the opposite side) however I feel like selling this year has been particularly brutal. I mainly say this as a comparison to last year. My margins last year were 20-30% more than this year. Prices drove up and continued driving up throughout the selling season. Most sets have continued to drop price throughout the selling season or stagnated at the same price (Avengers helicopter, small harry potters, minecrafts etc. Additionally many sets selling at high prices have now dropped 20% since last year. Jurassic Carnotaurus Gyrosphere 75929, Mia's camper van 41339 to name a few. I have a strong feeling the restock limitations are causing people to value throughput over margin. I'm guess that a lot of the big sellers may not have had workforces to run the business last year as i didn't see toy planet undercutting every listing last year which is very prevalent this year. I'm definitely going to have to make some major adjustments moving forward as competition heats up. Getting the volume required to do well in the current climate is difficult through retailers.

The Facebook Marketplace local selling techniques mentioned here by terrymc4677 and others do work and thanks so much for sharing with us. I was able to sell three big City sets (very large sets to ship) this past weekend alone, two Rocket Assembly & Transport sets and one Downtown Fire Brigade along with multiple Harvester Transport sets (those in particular sold within hours after I posted them). I think I may keep my last one of those! It does take patience to get your asking/target price and as I was told, it does help to create multiple listings to generate interest and to let buyers know you are selling many sets. One buyer bought three sets from me with no negotiations needed. My tips are to include in a link in your listing to the Lego site (this helps to either let potential buyers know they are getting a good price or the set is retired) and to include/bundle a free item such as a polybag (we all seem to get them as GWPs). May I have success selling my Batcave Clayface Invasion sets this way too! This is a great community and I appreciate the selling advice! It does work!

I hear that the minifigures aren't terribly expensive but the shipping costs were the killer.
