I saw the truck in real life at our local trunk or treat!

Picked this up yesterday for $65 off of craigslist ($35 for the Ducati and $30 for the rest). Notables are 42107 Ducati with box and instructions and 79013 Hobbit Lake Town Chase with instructions, box, and a sealed bag. I found two of the figures so far from light digging. I'm hoping the rest of the pieces and figures are in the box. I can already see that the box has some mega blocks mixed in.

I imagine the ideas submission is moot at this point, these have gone through some kind of finalization process to come to these price points/actual workability. When open, the Bowling alley is awesome, but it has a roof with AC units and stuff... so on display as a building it looks like the suburban hellscape I already see all the time. If it had made it as an IDEAS set, the Lego designers would have addressed this issue, I think.

I'm certain it will sell out, but there is a ton of window without a ton of architecture on the outside. Without the lighting kit on the inside there, I can't imagine it looks that great compared to the external designs of the official modulars.

Agreed. Hate that instructions are digital and that we haven't seen packaging yet from round 1 🙁 Also curious how many of those 4000 pre-orders are for personal vs those bought to sell

Grabbed a Lego store and a Bowling alley. Orders went smooth. Not having paper instructions included makes them feel less like a complete set, but I'm happy Lego is doing the program. I was all over the first go around when BrickLink ran it and have done nicely on all those picks. Seemed like Those sets stayed available forever.

Venetian Buildings with modular buildings. Creator shared these but some may not notice them in the comments. Beautiful but expensive. I believe 2nd image is Venetian Buildings in one of its alternate configurations. Might be better suited for Modular layout than some realize.

Assembly Square is 1.5 standard baseplates (32 x 32 + 32 x 16) ~15". Bowling Alley looks to be 2 standard baseplates (32 x 64) ~20"

I've always wanted some sort of modular Lego store so guessing this will be my best opportunity. Unfortunately, it feels a little too basic like someone just built something out of a box of random bricks vs. an intentional design. I think rather than having the shipping area in the rear of the building I would have liked to see the entire base dedicated to floor space in the store. It just really feels like the interior is lacking depth. From the outside looking in, there doesn't appear to be much inventory available for sale which is opposite of any Lego store I've visited. I also think the Retro Bowling Alley is really well done. I would be a buyer at $179, but $229 just feels like too much compared to everything available in this price range. I know there are over 2700 pieces in it, but many of them appear to be small details like flooring/flowers/etc.

The Best part for me is that he never opens his mouth (compared to "em" where i had to hit mute 2 seconds in)

If you order something on backorder on double vip day, you still get double points. Just not sure if the promo applies to this program. I'm guessing not but would be nice to know.

Right! And the initial limit was only 5000, if I recall correctly. Did Lego do any advertising for this? I can't find a single email for round 2 or initially for round 1. Only from August saying there are still some sets up for grabs. I wonder how much that will hurt the long-run performance of these sets.

I feel that the bowling alley goes well with the hot shot carnival from the afol designer program on bricklink a few years ago. You can also kinda make it part of the fairgrounds.

Its design is my biggest pro/con. Taking up approximately 2 baseplates makes it harder to place it somewhere. But the inside is much more fun with the wider build. Being disciplined can be no fun sometimes lol .

Id agree. I have a feeling it will be as popular if not more so than the Castle in the Forest. I'll bet my dickens it sells out in under 1 hour, any takers?!

Anyone see dimensions on the Bowling Alley? I see the creator responded to a question indicating base is 32 x 64 studs wide stating "a bit wider than Assembly Square." When I lookup 32x32 baseplate I find 10" (so that would be 20"?). When I lookup Assembly Square it says 14" wide.

I should say I like the windmill and the LEGO store, just not at those prices.

If you have enough patience, you may be able to buy the Titanic at double VIP points (~63 Euro worth) and possibly a free GWP at the same time, but no guarantee on that. I would think so. Even though there are placeholders on lego.com but if you click on it, it still takes you to brinklink.

Last time, which was a mess, you had to initiate the order with your brick link account but complete the checkout process on Lego dot com. Tomorrow should be fun with the limit 1 not sure those $299 sets will make the threshold.
