Couple of observations after going Walgreens hunting yesterday and today:
- Someone went for all the 90% clearance in my neck of the woods. Only managed to find the DOTS adventures bracelet (41918) for $0.60 at one store (90% off its $5.99 RRP), but that was also THE ONLY STORE that clearanced that item - in all other stores they rang up RRP
- One store had 76140 Iron Man Mechs for $6.99, but all other stores that had them had them for RRP $9.99
- 11008 Bricks and Houses consistently rings up as 60287 City Tractor
- The pricing on 60287 City Tractor and 21171 The Horse Stables is for sure a pricing error - it is not ringing up as any kind of sale.
- Where 60287 & 21171 should have been $19.99 but ring up for $9.99, 76171 Miles Morales Mech rings up for $19.99, but should have been ringing up for $9.99. This leads me to believe someone in HQ accidentally(?) swapped the RRPs on 21171 and 76171 (note the last 3 digits are the same). The same sleepy-head probably also copy & pasted the price on 60287 to 11008, but forgot to update the description (hence it ringing up as 60287). Taking it one step further, here is what I think happened:
1. Mr/Mrs Sleepy-head accidentally swapped 76171 and 21171, leading to 21171 being priced $9.99.
2. They then realized that 21171, 60287 and 11008 were all sets with the same dimension boxes, same RRPs etc, so they copied the record from 76171 to create the 60287 record.
3. Then they proceeded to update the second record to 60287, and made all the changes necessary (GTIN/UPC, description etc.)
4. They made a copy again, now of the 60287 record, to prep 11008, and added the GTIN/UPC.
5. While they were doing that, that cute girl/rugged handsome bachelor from finance came by and they totally got distracted. After 15-20 minutes of flirtation, now totally aroused, they decided to accept the offer to "let's grab a drink right now" . They quickly pressed Save and left in a horny frenzy, not realizing they forgot to update the 11008 record with 11008's description.
6. The reseller community POUNCED.
