So after 10 months my Target account has been unbanned. I placed a trial order every month and insta-cancelled each time. Cancellation orders even came before the order confirmations. But today my first order shipped. Gonna take it easy with them. I did reach out to CS a month ago and apologized and asked them to reinstate me and the rep said she would email the ban team for me, but im thinking its unrelated. Happened to me once before so i think it just resets after a while. TLDR: Try making orders if youre currently banned at target.3 points

1. The fault was on the interviewer who did not ask the CEO to clarify the side effects or provide percentage of cases with side effects. 2. The neck thing is not a deepfake. Go to NBC and see from the source. His neck is unusual but lets keep the conversation on earthly realm. 3. Is he up to no good? Heck, he is a CEO of billion dollars company. If he is any good, he already planned his next 3 moves by the time interview began. And yes, I never trust ELon Musk for the same reason 4. Is it possible that the interview is just some "puff" piece / softball interview designed to stealthily inform the mass on the approval of the vaccine ? Most likely. Why? See #1 above. Interviewer did not ask any "hard" question. What I am curious about (ie. How to interview 101): 1. A list of vaccine side effects which CEO deemed "very serious but very rare" 2. Why CEO did not provide any percentage of cases with side effects. A very tiny percentage would actually help convince people who doubt the safety of the vaccine2 points

Used to live in Spokane. It's a great town with so much to do outdoors. The Gorge is an awesome place to see a show. I remember seeing Dave Matthews Band play there and a huge refueler plane flew right down the valley and tipped its wings at the crowd. So cool.2 points

Heading out soon to Logan airport to fly to Spokane, WA. Going to see Phish at the Gorge Amphitheatre on Fri, Sat and Sunday.2 points

I’m fortunate that I’m 100% telework now, and can pretty much live anywhere in the US. We have friends in Georgia and North Carolina, so those are high on the list. Maybe it’s a bit of grass is always greener, but we’ve outgrown our house here, need to move mother-in-law in with us. We have a backyard that’s 12 feet by 18 feet. Standard SoCal home. Just seeing what I could buy is amazing. Acres of property. Swimming pool. Chicken coops and stables if I were so inclined. All with a MIL sweet, super upgraded home. American dream that just can’t be realized in SoCal anymore.2 points

Does selling your old house/buying a new house count as a home improvement? I am seriously looking at cashing out of California, and moving back east, where I can get so much more home.2 points

Our house was built on a ledge/slope so the other half of the basement has the more common 20'x24' small windows. not exact but similar.2 points

Either you don't understand the significance of what a lack of ICU beds means or you're one of the "what's a couple hundred more deaths matter?" kind of guy. Either way, gross. This.....this is not how healthcare works. Even if it did you are suggesting a far more expensive and less effective solution when the issue could be better mitigated by more people getting a $20 shot.2 points

If you imagined it would be basically no different than your life now, in a large majority of places, you would be correct. As much as some would like you to believe, you have to actually search out racist rednecks in the midwest.1 point

Make it a serial and post a new part every Friday evening. "Honey, I gotta log into Brickpicker. This guy is dropping part 6 of his story in a couple minutes and I want to read it before it gets spoiled for me on Twitter."1 point

no it can be a really big deal depending on your personality. it's not like any overt racism...and everyone we ever met were cordial and friendly...but after awhile, every office, every restaurant, or bus...heads turn as a constant reminder that we don't fully fit in.1 point

Sorry, I should also have mentioned the odds of getting long-Covid complications occuring in 10-30% of people, and is dramatically lower for those who have received the vaccine. Unfortunately nothing. 😔 I do agree with your general sentiment that these shouldn't be required. Not because they aren't effective, but because the social pushback on it may not be worth it. For me it appears to be a double edged sword.1 point

I work at a hospital that is doing research on the vaccines, and they recently did a video explaining how they work, what the potential side-effects are, and some general numbers. 1) The rate at which individuals experience initial side-effects is something around 10-15%, but this is often just a minor fever and passes within a few days. This is why they have you wait for around 15 minutes prior to leaving after getting the vaccine. 2)The rates of serious reaction (not death) to the vaccine is 7 in 1,000,000, so if you aren't worried about Covid because the survival rate is 99.7%, you shouldn't be worried about this either. Also, anyone worried about it should just research how mRNA works. The tech going into these vaccines is actually remarkable, and will ultimately change the way we do future vaccines. This vaccine is actually arguably safer than a flu shot, as the risk for an allergic reaction is basically none.1 point

Love the argument that “we are all part of a big trial”. Have the people who say that not been using cellphones, stayed away from wifi etc? That is a multi-decade live experiment in what happens to human brains and bodies when exposed to electromagnetic waves. Remember, it took decades to prove that asbestos caused lung cancer.1 point

I lived in the midwest for about 3 years. Just saying...ALWAYS being the minority in the room sucks big time. Ultimately that (and the lack of food choices) were the main reasons we opted to move back to Cali.1 point

for me, bigger (home, yard, pool, etc) just means more maintenance...I don't want to deal with. I would be absolutely miserable if you doubled my home square foot or yard size. I am already suffering one of the worse decisions ever (having a pool). Also having grown up in Cali, having 4 seasons suck (THAT novelty gets real old)...ofcourse having a wildfire season every year also sux the "dream" is all about extra time and stress reduction. more quality Time w family and friends and hobbies.1 point

OnlyFans saying the planned changes have been "suspended" implies the situation may return at a later date. I suppose in today's age such a possibility is a given considering the stigma for the industry in question. Some of the flak towards the sex industry in general has been deserved for the poor working conditions and abuse in the 'professional' sectors of the past. However with efforts such as those from federally recognized union the Adult Performance Artists Guild (APAG), the environment is becoming healthier and safer than what it was than even a few years ago with something as simple as a performer consent checklist and a "on set stewards program". (In short promoting consensual only.) Anyway if there was not any actual pressure from the banks then I wonder if CEO Tim Stokely overreacted to the coming changes the payments network are set to bring regarding adult merchants this October 1st. There is also the chance this was a weird publicity stunt even if the OnlyFans website had already increased in popularity due to COVID. Either way this did bring attention to the planned stricter rule changes whatever those all entail.1 point

the lack of a rational consistent argument is what bothers me the most. That's how you know it's more political than rational. At least the Antivaxxers who don't believe in ANY vaccines are consistent in their arguments. I can at least respect that. I have little respect for folks who don't want the vaccine for political reasons.1 point

Wow over a year later ha! Our basement has been very slow progress. Finished up the drywall & mud/taping. Before and after pic of the Doorway and Barn door. The 2 pics of the sills are before I finished the tape/mudding. Still dreading the wall cleaning/painting, but that won’t take too long. The barn door will keep all the systems and storage on one side and leaves us with 750sqft of finished space. Next up will be finding wood for the sills, about 35 ft of length. Thinking about going with a live edge look but still undecided.1 point

So, the public would be more supportive of getting vaccinated if Pfizer and/or Biden sunk more money into providing care? You really are a special kind of stupid.1 point

Nah...I'll pass on the tattoo. None of those things are "normal" in the context of how we were able to live our lives prior to March 2020, but I recognize and accept the fact that we live in a complex world where **** happens that we have to adapt to. I don't like all of the things that we've had to do to adapt to the pandemic, but I accept them because I know that there is nothing to be gained by whining, ignoring the reality that we are confronted with, or comforting myself with stupid conspiracy theories that do nothing to get us all back to where we'd like to be.1 point
