i did just over 30K in fbm sales this month on 428 sales. its a lot of work but manageable if you prepack the stuff you sell so that you don't get slammed. i use zone specific shipping where i give free expedited shipping to my home zone only - east coast - which is reachable using UPS ground or PRIORITY which is what i would normally send stuff anyway. i price at the FBA buybox or 5 cents below and because i am offering expedited shipping to the east coast, i am able to quite effectively compete with in stock FBA price for buyers in that zone. The surprising upside is that i get much much fewer margin killing west coast orders since they get the crappy regular delivery date shown to them. i can have my entire inventory listed if i want - thousands of skus with no storage fees being incurred. the only thing that amazon could do to make selling FBM a pita would be to charge a fee to have a listing active. i sent in my first batch of FBA since the small batch I did last june just to make sure i don't get gated. i get my money quicker with FBM. someone buys something i print the label and ship it - the money is there. i'm grandfathered in so i can get disbursements whenever. orders almost never spend more than 5-15 minutes in pending status unlike FBA where it can be in pending for days. with FBM, my sales and cash flow are like a spigot that i can turn on or turn off. with FBA its like i sent a mission to mars and it has to land and get there first before i find out badly they screwed up the intake and then once we get through fc distribution blah blah it might finally show up for sale or might not and then it finally sells... it goes to pending status. its ton of work doing fbm making the boxes and dropping all this crap off but it is pretty lucrative.4 points

Source: https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-ulysses-raumsonde-vip-praemie/ Sadly, according to Stonewars, the bricks are white and yellow, so the yellow is not metallic gold coated. 😕4 points

Thinking back on the Brickpicker's history of inappropriate set names/acronyms, I will always remember Escort Girls as never fully living up to its potential.3 points

I recently picked up a bulk bin of lego: mostly castle and pirates and was worried I was overpaying, but I wanted the pirate sets. It was missing a bunch of stuff, but fortunately a second bin was located and I bought that too. This was a great find. They all ended up 98-100% complete and near mint (horse bardings have all clips, no scratches, minifigures in great shape, most flags don't have broken clips, the worst set was missing 10 parts at one part each). Mountain baseplates have no marks, except for the pirate one, and that's on the underside of the "cave" indentation. There's not really any dust anywhere so these have been packed up for a couple of decades. Sets: Pirates 6246 Crocodile Cage 6261 Raft Raiders 6262 King Kahuka's Throne 6266 Cannon Cove 6270 Forbidden Island 6274 Caribbean Clipper 6276 Eldorado's Fortress Castle 1463 Treasure Cart 1491 Dual Defender 6034 Black Monarch's Ghost 6038 Wolfpack Renegades 6042 Dungeon Hunters 6048 Majistos Magical Workshop 6056 Dragon Wagon 6057 Sea Serpent 6075 Wolfpack Tower 6078 Royal Drawbridge 6081 King's Mountain Fortress 6086 Black Knight's Castle... Except it's missing the white feathers :-( Aquanauts 1822 Sea Claw 7 6104 Aquacessories 6115 Shark Scout x2 6155 Deep Sea Predator 6175 Crystal Explorer Sub 6190 Sharks Crystal Cave 6195 Neptune Discovery Lab Random Few small blacktron/mtron sets 6975 UFO Alien avenger 6755 Sheriff's Lock Up Few random creator, technic, sport, and city sets like coastal cutter. All have instructions, a few have boxes in good condition, a few have destroyed boxes. Some polybags are still here too. Overall, lots of fun ahead to finish building. I can probably sell the aqua sets and random stuff to get close to break even after buying parts on order. I get to keep the pirate and castle sets 98%+ complete for free and slowly order parts in the US once the pandemic slows down and the border opens.2 points

LEGO Architecture London 21034 Building Kit $31.99 [68% off]Dropped 6% on Mar 26 1:34 PM This is deceptive from Amazon. MSRP is actually $39.99 - 20% off. Just a heads up.2 points

Same here. No Ulysses, no day-one purchase. Kind of sad actually. Was really looking forward to buying this on day 1.1 point

Makes me wonder if we could have used the T IT to track our Dickens and PEE and maybe our MILFs, too1 point

Dang, another miss by Lego. Would have bought the Porsche on day-1 if the promo was available in North America and now this delay. Guess I'll just wait...1 point

Never use UPS to import items into Canada. Their brokerage fess have been horrendous for many years. I just prefer to use Canada post/USPS and take my chances with Canada Customs the old fashion way.1 point

I ordered a dozen recently since 12 is the lcm of 2, 3 and 4. I figured it had to be one of the 3 choices. The answer is indeed 2.1 point

When I was a kid it was all about what else I could build with the parts that came with the set in addition to what the set itself was. These NASA sets are clearly for display (18+). The City space sets advantage is they are modular and most, if not all, will work with one another. However, the City space sets are still space sets. So it's not like you can just rebuild them into whatever you want. That is the disadvantage of very large and very small pieces dominating the piece count. One of the first two sets I ever received as a kids was Lunar Lander 565. (The other was 392 Formula One Car.) I rebuilt both into so many different ideas, it was near limitless. I feel like the more specialized these sets get today, the less creativity kids have.1 point

wow, didn't think the second one would drop so fast. it appears there is a 2-week cadence to the drops. first was Sunday, Jan 17th and next was Sunday, Jan 31st. is it obvious that the next will be Sunday, February 14th? ps: for those on the "fence", wait till your favorite theme from childhood pops up. mine was castle. when space drops, some fencers will be singing a different tune...1 point

Hang in there with the Tree House. I think this thing is making a last minute comeback. I got in at $180 and I'm now getting offers around $300. I believe they will sell at $325 this week on the bay.1 point

Interesting... you never get a receipt from Target in your box? I just had 5 packages arrive and everyone had one except for the mangled box. but I'll defer to you, Hall Monitor1 point

Late to the party. Is the 31109 Creator Pirate Ship dropping today at 9:00 am in the US? Perfect addition to the Pirate Roller Coaster and Barracuda. Trifecta!1 point

That makes sense. Didn't mean to trigger so many people on here, so I am sorry. I'm lucky to have gotten this one and asking for something free is kinda ridiculous considering there were a lot who didn't. I'm kinda spoiled, my kids at the LEGO store go out of their way to save me an unopened brown box, but even then, the box can still get messed up. Problem is, they'll keep letting me open boxes until we find the perfect one lol.1 point

Ouch, I'm actually a collector. The boxes mean everything to me. I never even open them up. Does it make a little more sense now that I would want something for free on such a big purchase and collector's item? When I sit these boxes on a mantle to stare at the box art like a little kid, my eye naturally wanders to these imperfections. I don't know. I guess it depends on what kind of kid you were. Did you ever open a present as a child and the toy box was all mangled? Kind of a let down, right?1 point

Unfortunately, I got a really banged up box. The worst from LEGO yet and I've had a few on some very high dollar sets including the recent Barracuda. I've never complained before to LEGO, but I feel the need to now. What's the strategy to get something for free in this situation beyond a refund send back? Thanks in advance!1 point

If SHTF, I can’t help but think LEGOS will be a store of value and a raw form of currency all due to their international recognition. Similar to how cigarettes and other “new in the box” commodities were used in other collapses.1 point
