The tradition of Festivus begins with the airing of grievances.
  3. Yes, it seems that the problem here is not BrickSet providing erroneous info but rather people using it not knowing how to properly read and interpret what the site says. It's like a carpenter not knowing how a screwdriver works and then complaining that the screwdriver makes a lousy tool for scraping paint.
  4. The algorithm at Brickset just checks for availability of a set at lego.com. It says nothing about retirement. That date was the last date Brickset showed it available to purchase.
  5. Hey guys I'm just trying to be helpful. Laugh and joke all you want. I'm a former employee and I have a reliable source at the company so take the info or leave it. I could care less. There is a website on the company's internal server that lists all retired sets in any given year. When I worked there (in my pre-reseller days), I used to print the list out for myself and it helped me plan out which sets to buy first for my personal collection when money was tight. But everyone keep buying up all the Treehouses you want, sheesh.
  6. Straight from LEGO - Ideas Treehouse and Flintstones are NOT retiring. Vestas Windmill and Volkswagen T1 Camper are "Retired", however some remaining backstock may become available for a brief time early in 2021. But they are definitely not producing anymore.

You just photographed what my hell looks like. How do you people survive living in that?
  8. I'd be amazed if they kept flinstones around versus Steamboat willie. If either come back, it will be my final time investing in an idea's set.
  9. Straight from a Lego store? Or straight from Denmark?
  10. Viserion is done. Ice + dragons =
  11. Connix will be sought after
  12. what are the odds that the piece we are just missing on the UCS MILF happens to be part of the advent calendar Day 17? I got the set used back in June and my boy and I started off strong but had gone months with no progress...(I learned my lesson, NEVER EVER EVER buy a set that big used..we spend 90% of the time just finding the piece)...anyway to the seller's credit only missing a couple of relatively common pieces so far. ANYWAY, wife gave an ultimatum...By New Years or it all gets packed up (You can imagine what the incomplete MILF and a sea of sorted parts look like in the middle of a living room...my wife is a saint)...ANYHOO yesterday we discovered a missing piece...and I went thru all out general bins to no avail..and then this am we do our Advent tradition...thank-you Day 17 Harry Potter grand piano...you Ain't ever getting built...but how sweet it is!

Customer: "Please sir, can you tell me where my BrickLink order is?" Me:
  17. There is always a corner set available. So far the sets have released in this order: Corner, Straight, Straight, Corner, Straight, Straight, Corner, Straight, Straight, Corner, Straight, Straight, Corner, Straight, Straight So a corner building next year. Garage is toast. They're overdue for a double retirement. But AS sells too well to kill it off... so Garage will likely go alone. The buy in on it isn't great, but it will have as long of a life as Brick Bank/Downtown Diner has. Which were only on the shelves ~3 months longer than the Town Hall.
  18. Finished a 40289 last night. Nice little Harry Potter site. Already lost the light purple hat and had to use one from the 1960s Batcave set. D’oh. That hat is only in 3 sets.
  19. that's some decent performance there. getting close to $1 per brick on that tow truck. 60056: 60059:

This is why my eBay store is in vacation mode until after Christmas.
  21. If you need one DM me and I'll send for MSRP
  22. Y'all just need a bigger screwdriver.
  23. Last City Hospital for $192 shipped. Buy-in average on these was ~$60. Keeping one for potential town rebuild.
  24. Nice ride but sorry my OCD gets me every time I see this and I am sure you have a list but a great bang for the buck mod is to get a locking set of these in black: https://www.gorilla-auto.com/lug-nuts-page-03
  25. I still love my '02 Silverado as much as the day I bought it new. 300k miles and still going strong. It's been very nice not having a car payment since 2007.
  26. Most of the time Brickset just copies LEGO Shop availability status & sets toos/oos date as an end of availability date in their databank.
  27. Just so you know this is not uncommon for this set. I ordered 3 from target once and 2 arrived with popped seals. Probably something to do with the thin box dimension to weight.

    I think i see it
  29. Okay, don't mean to brag, but... No wait, strike that, I'm definitely going to brag.
  30. Appreciate the info. But there have been hundreds of people here that have said "what the Lego store employee told them". There may even be a thread for it.
  31. I think he just wanted clarification as to your source. We all know LEGO managers say a lot of different things. We all appreciate the information if we know it's from a reliable source. Thanks for the update.
  32. I would have provided some in person feedback.
  33. It would have skyrocketed higher had it not been stopped by Amzn artificial ceiling
  34. The first step to fixing a problem is acknowledging that you have one.
  35. ......I was under the impression this was the internet ?
  36. Yeah. Just a little
  37. Sold a 41196 for $110 and 41186 for $20 cash, local sale. $60 buy in. Last of my 41186 and only one 41196 left out of my whole 60% off sweep from a local target a few years back.
  38. Slave I 20th 75243 @ Amazon for $115 https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-Slave-Anniversary/dp/B07NDXJRB9

Yeah, similar style box to the 10212 UCS Imperial Shuttle. Hard to find one with a nice box.
  40. I received 2 different types. The one came earlier has the artwork( code: 35R9). The five came a few days ago no artwork(code:31R9).
  41. At first I was upset that Best Buy would ship an item to me in this condition (listed as new) but then I saw it was inspected by RDC725 and the product was verified as "good". Thanks Len Howell!
  42. It's kind of shame that some of these sets get overlooked as they are good sets and offer more bang for the buck than the regurgitated Star Wars sets that get pumped out every year.
  43. My opinion is that if it couldn't be done properly, then maybe they shouldn't have done it at all.
