It's nice to have members who actually share what info they have. IMO, Constantly Razzing fellow members will slow the sharing flow. Members earn their trust and those words hold weight. It would be nice to have the member who stated SaturnV and Ninjago city returning was still talking about things but as they had no rep and what they were saying sounded quite troll, they were scared off maybe. I hope the badgering of some doesn't scare off others. This is one of the best communities on the net I've found so far. Parent style rant over:)7 points

OMG pls stop. It's geographically impossible an island your size is large enough to fit two of you. Lurking for months and now suddenly 15+ daily me-centric posts with the constant eye winks, speaking in absolutes, doomsday scenarios, and 'secret' connections. Can we just get this over with and have you guarantee crypto will outperform LEGO in 2021?5 points

Unfortunately your argument is flawed. If the only people you will believe regarding lego EOL dates is lego, then we might aswell shut down brickpicker. There are people here who have some more info / data than the average Joe, its not always correct, but it does provide some hints / tips.4 points

Well this has been an entertaining read! 😁 Surely sharing tips would encourage others on the forum to do the same? Therefore, creating an advantageous investing community, which is what probably draws people to such sites anyway? I don’t believe the competition is that fierce that the buying habits influenced by posts on this forum would negatively affect sales down the line, literally because of the 1000,s of buyers available. That being said, whether people post either opinions, genuine tips or just rubbish. All contribution makes a great read (y) 😁.2 points

lego and amazon already have a history of replacing an exisiting set with an exact remake. elsa magical ice palace (41148) had an identical remake immediately after EOL -> 43172. (deja vu) 43172 took over 41148's listing on amazon screwing all the 41148 resellers since you couldn't legitimately sell it under that listing anymore. you can look up the reviews on the current amazon 43172 listing and they go back to 2017 before 43172 was even released - because they took over 41148s reviews. i am not surprised at all if amazon just sticks the saturn v remake under the old listing with the new set number since they already did it once. just another slap in the face of resellers.2 points

Fair enough, I understand not wanting to crack open a shipper in prime condition. Many of us are curious exactly what little changes, if much at all, will be on these new boxes. We'll get more and more info in the coming days I'm sure. Thanks for sharing!2 points

When was that sale? This set isn’t available in store, only online, and I don’t remember any chatter here. A sale like that would have us talking. I don’t have any of these yet because I’ve also been waiting for a sale. Looks like I might need to buy a few at retail.2 points

the next option is to chargeback through your credit card company. I would totally do this. AirBNB does not have a reasonable defense...and most CC are looking out for their members. If you want to give Airbnb 1 more chance.. you can first threaten Airbnb with a credit card chargeback of which they know they will likely lose and take a hit against their merchant services...you can negotiate a credit (for a future trip) so Airbnb does not lose the money nor have to use resources fighting Visa. Just NEVER ever initiate a chargeback and then cancel it on your end (no matter what Airbnb promises).2 points

In general I am anti-bailout, however, this is a unique situation in that the gov't forced businesses to shutdown. In this instance I think it is the gov't responsibility to help those business that it forced to close.2 points

Before this thread gets locked, can I just state here that I am sick and tired of Covid, riots, politics( both parties and candidates), the Russians, the Chinese, sports games without fans, Dr. Fauci, wearing masks, death counters, flies, excuses that things cannot be done because of Covid, NJ Governor Murphy, remote learning, bad bank hours, poor theatrical releases and having to use hand sanitizer 100 times a day. End of rant.2 points

Speaking of Airbnb, we're spending the rest of the week and weekend in Mariposa, a town near Yosemite. We don't want to fly anywhere so this is our "vacation". We'll be spending the day at Yosemite on Saturday. I haven't been there in 20+ years and our kids have never been there. Can't wait.2 points

A little late to the game but, after selling online for almost 10 years, I now use the Brother QL-1100 for all my label printing. I wished that I had bought it years ago. It runs just fine on generic labels, as long as it has the black box on them to tell it to cut. Oh, it also works with Mac. https://www.amazon.com/Brother-QL-1100-Postage-Barcode-Professional/dp/B079G51QTB/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=brother+ql-1100&qid=1602285590&sr=8-31 point

I waited until Target cleared out a bunch of these @ 50% off before picking up mine. I plan on doing the same w/GBH.1 point

I also look at this situation as a terrible business practice. I'm largely unfamiliar with Airbnb and have never used them. But my parents rent out some houses via VRBO and when the pandemic happened they gave everyone the proper refunds. It also worked out later, as a bunch of them booked the house over the summer, making up for a certain amount of lost revenue. I just don't think if I was running a business like that and wasn't able to fulfill the rental for one reason or another that I would feel justified in not refunding the renter.1 point

I think this is still on schedule. IIRC, the last several years there have been these overlap months when the new set is available, and the set from two years ago hasn't yet sold out. Firehouse will sell out in the next couple months, and I'm guessing it will go faster than it otherwise would have because the GBH will be TOOS more than not for the rest of the year. By the end of next year, I would love to have 100+ GBH's in my portfolio. That set is going to be a monster after retirement...I just hope they retire it next year.1 point

What did you expect with creating a thread about voting? Seriously as this is a web site about toys. When I originally saw this thread, I thought it was going to be about Lego. E.g. vote on a favorite set.1 point

I get that you don't have high confidence in the numbers...and anyone can make a hypothetical argument seem true Simply stated, life right now sucks for me, for my family, and for pretty much everyone we know...compared to pre-CV. That's not made up or media bias telling us our life sucks. so it's REAL...denying it makes one appear delusional. Also your points are flawed in that there is a big difference between the beginning, middle and current times...Yes, many can speculate there was enough unknowns early on that caused poor or slow action..and hindsight is 20-20. So if everyone gets a pass in Feb/March...it does not explain the poor actions in April, May, June, July, Aug, Sept...and now October...unless you think everyone getting a $200K experimental drug for free is realistic and a good message to tell the nation? The nail in the coffin for me is this...looking at the last 8 months as a whole...the US is bottom tier in the world in terms of its progress w/ CV...and has been for most of that duration...and there is zero evidence that its going to get any better soon. what has this country been doing the last 8 months other than bickering amongst ourselves...that's poor leadership...and leadership issues are always top down.1 point

Thank you @LegoMan1212, what you typed took berries and I appreciate that. I agreed with alot of your Task Force Plan. @Alpinemaps, I would say Zero fraud as well. Mistakes, ok, we can work through those. But fraud, no way jose. One of my biggest peevs about the election process is if a candidate knows they wont win the popular vote, they target the correct amount of electoral votes and then inundate those states with lies, propaganda and fear. I mean, those are tactics discussed straight out of mein kempf. Also, trying to disregard hindsight and keeping basic science and particle/dust/contaminate containment in mind, I would have kept to my same plan as we discussed back in March in the Covid thread. I would have opened up the development of a rapid test from actual companies that specialize in serology and not made it a race for profits. Also, I would have included other countries early on that had already developed a PCR based test (15 min, rare false neg/pos) and was testing tens of thousands a day before the summer (S.Korea, Japan, etc). Testing early on is key to minimize the spread, which we had plenty of time to do. Also, facemasks would have been mandatory with strict enforcement. But first things first, I would have educated the population right out of the gate. So they knew what we were up against and how good hygiene, social distancing and wearing masks are truly the only weapon we as humans have against a novel(new) virus we understand so little about(No test, vaccine or treatment). Calling the disease a hoax or 'just like the flu' gave so many nut jobs and know it alls a false sense of knowledge to actually go against the advice of scientists. Think of that for a minute. We all wasted time discussing if masks work, why cant I go to the bar or church and the death count is inflated. And we are still going around this merry-go-round as schools are dealing with clusters along with Hollywood, Pro Sports and even the WHITE HOUSE.1 point

it's strategy. either side will accuse the other of "forcing their hand"...but the bar has been lowered probably going back decades....and all sense of decency and respect for the office (and the country) has all been given up since maybe Gore.1 point

It's safe to say the Saturn V is the biggest catastrophe yet. Forget a tumbler scenario! There have never been more people that bought so many of a particular set. What a flood. And worst of all: not everyone knows about this yet. Wait until LEGO officially posts something. The only positive is that this will without a doubt scare people. The negative: LEGO proves again how unpredictable they are now.1 point

I fear all the believers that voting is "rigged" by the illusion of "faking it' or simple mistakes that were corrected or are being corrected. There are what 200 million votes available to those 18+. There are bound to be mistakes here and there but nothing of "significant" scale. It is sad to see Trump, personally, to continue this rhetoric about how "fake" it is. Yet it is the same voting systems that were used 2 years ago, 4 years ago, etc... with upgrades. But this is his prerogative, to sew doubt into the system so it can be contested. PS: hats off to all the volunteers, that I don't doubt will be dragged through the mud. PPS: Let's get along a little too. I'm tired of the left vs right BS. It's so incredibly stupid and more destructive each and every day.1 point

I think a lot of teachers would disagree with you. Not everyone has money as their primary concern when it comes to career choice. Some also want to serve a common good. Take that crap out of here.1 point
