It’s still going strong in Canada, even with COVID. If the border ever reopens you’re all welcome to come up for a nostalgia trip.6 points

Mine is still there....all the signs up and everything. It just stares at me taunting me. Im lucky that the manager let me take the entire Lego department displays when it closed. I even have the Lego canvas curtains they hung over the top stock and even the red Lego sign that hung over the section.4 points

I know someone who can still sell you most of these sets in large quantity ... although he will probably try to swindle you into a terrible deal. @Bold-Arrow4 points

Hey! That was my background. Cartographer/GIS guy. It was my first career. Onto a second career now. But I too love maps and use them in my decor. So yeah, this one is great!3 points

I'm really happy with that Globe, I was a cartographer/GIS tech in the past and most of my decor is maps, I can't wait to build this and put it on the mantel.3 points

75955 is technically a remake, of a remake, of a remake. I think this is #4 as joe vs dan said. #5 if you include the motorized set. 4708 (2001) 4758 (2004) 10132 - Motorized (2004) - There was a super pack with more track, but it was the same train set. 4841 (2010) and right now 75955 (2018). IMHO I believe this is the best rendition of the Hogwarts Express engine. At least it is a 4-6-0 and actually looks like the GWR 4900. None of the other sets can say that. I actually like the rail cars from 4841 and am trying to piece together cars from that set to put with the engine from 75955 and then motorize it like Jang did. I have no doubts LEGO will reissue another train but if they wander from the 4-6-0 configuration, all future trains will pail in comparison to this one. imho It is a shame LEGO has not issued a high-quality version of the Hogwarts Express like the Crocodile. They could sell each of the train cars separately. I think Potterheads would explode with something like that.2 points

I’m a map guy. Think I’m happy? “it's a complex and unique build that's never before seen in an official LEGO set.” Considering the number of entries, I think this line describes exactly how you to submit a successful Ideas entry.2 points

I miss staying up late on Saturday nights waiting for the new deals to go live and double dipping. Good times.1 point

That Friends polybag was one of the very first things I bought at a clearance price from a long-since-closed KMart way back when.1 point

I think this was around the time we were using $10 off $40 at TRU (Wendy's coupons) too. I probably have those Wendy's Kid's Meal toys tucked away somewhere too.1 point

Especially if they just release the sets again. The novelty of the theme has worn off for me.1 point

I think the contention around sets like 10198 being UCS or not is exactly why Lego have now separated out UCS from MBS explicitly.1 point

NO. its not coming back. its actually getting boring to constantly read, everybody with a crystal ball slating that every single set that has ever retired will be back within the next month.1 point

I'm actually looking forward to the Imperial Probe Droid. Hoping they do it justice. I don't think we've ever gotten one as a set in itself.1 point

unless the customer added some details , then no, but you should be able to check under performance > fba customer return. ( if defective is in blue then you can click and see what the customer said ) . Having said that, it is irrelevant, your argument is that the customer returned the set open with just random parts . what the customer said is of no significance to you . Amazon will counter with some bs about how seller is responsible for returns marked as defected, and you will counter bringing up your history as a seller and about the buyer's "shady" practice . How much time and effort you want to put into this is up to you . I usually do two back and forth with amazon and if the set is cheap enough without any reimbursement , I let it go. Some people will not bother for the get go claiming it is the price of doing business, not worth their team, and/or fear retribution from amazon , others keep going and open several cases.1 point

some good info here...not saying the rep even knows for sure, but simply the fact "they" can decide to produce another batch so readily (I would have thought that manufacturing schedules were much more tighter and that LEGO couldn't realistically modify so quickly). Also the "SDCC" moniker is just a label to LEGO with no actual production requirements...clearly just a suggestion of scarcity and LEGO can abuse based on what perceived precedence they want to set. in short, LEGO just F'in w/ us...like always but this year it's just a bit more in-your-face1 point

They need to reduce the number of sets that get through to review stage. Either increase number of votes or reduce the timeframe for hitting the 10k mark.1 point
