  1. Finished the Joker Bricksketch this morning. Much more interesting and substantial compared to the Batman build. One interesting feature of the Joker is that if you throw him up on a wall or shelf, the eyes tend to follow you due to the way they're sunk into his face. Really creepy. Here are the stop motion videos I made if you want to see the guts: Joker: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6851210050606730502 Batman: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6850814993437379845 Overall I really like these sets, but wish they were at the Brickheadz price point or included a minifig.
  2. Here are some hidden specials, literally https://www.walmart.com/browse/building-blocks/other-building-blocks/4171_4186_133013_6193800?cat_id=4171_4186_133013_6193800&facet=retailer%3AWalmart.com||special_offers%3ASpecial+Buy They are called Lego Masters bundles but they have been listed under "other building blocks" so they don't show up when you search for Lego at Walmart. They are mostly discounted "Classic sets" with a baseplate added for pennies more. It does also allows to change the choice of baseplate, but that does push the price up. All-in-all, some good deals made better.

My $697 MF from Harrod's just arrived. Packaged very well.
  4. I used to rely on Google shopping to give me the best idea of who was selling a set and for how much or to find the best price on a set. NOw GS has been overrun with poor data and bogus Chinese sets. Anyone have a price comparison site that gives the best data?
  5. Ha! The handle 'lasloo' originally derived from the character Lazlo Hollyfeld in the 80s movie "Real Genius". 🤓

Lego just needs the rights to produce the sets. Not sure what Disney has to do with it. Just take over the license that Mega Bloks has currently.

Puts every other company to shame.
  10. I live in vicinity of Kladno (30 mins drive) and Aukro is honestly not the best site for puchasing LEGO sets - the fees are like 10 procent. Just like ebay.
  11. LEGO 75957 Harry Potter Knight Bus £20 at amazon (£35 RRP, 43% off)
  12. Love that movie!! Lazlo Hollyfeld: Did you wanna borrow my pajamas?

I am beginning to wonder where the rest of this year's licensed brickheadz are at, and why we haven't heard anything more about potential release dates for the rest of them.

That’s got to be a priority mail price. I only do First Class for BHz because they are so light and the shipping so cheap.

  17. FYI Zavvi has the Technic Defender on sale again for $144 with free shipping. It is also tax free (depending on your state.) Use the code DEFENDER at checkout.
  18. I think this is what you were missing: The set is $50 RRP. Walmart had it for $40 (20% off) PLUS you get a $10 gift card (essentially ANOTHER 20% off.) The net was getting a $50 RRP set for $30 for a total of 40% off. Your Target example was a total of 25% off.
  19. You were missing something
  20. It was 20% off at Walmart PLUS a $10 gift card for each one you bought. Assuming you bought 4 total and applied the $20 in gift cards to the second purchase you ended up getting 4 for essentially 30% off. So, most definitely better than Target.
  21. The missus just finished this. It’s way bigger than I was expecting and very detailed.
  22. Yes, they planned to kill Hidden Side eventually (like anything else) but to me it seems like the last-minute decision.. why else would they bring on the market the last wave with the Castle? It costs a lot to make the boxes / packaging, promotion etc.. quite expensive stunt to have it only for a couple of months on a sale if they planned to shut the theme down at the end of the year. My personal opinion is that Hidden Side sets are not bad primarily - e.g. that orange Bus is simply excellent! and you do not even have to have the app, just the build itself. Its the awful packaging that killed the theme.
  23. Yup. And I have zero because I knew. And now everybody knows. Great. Thank you StoneWars, you are a savior...
  24. my kid built them. I contributed by applying the stickers.
  25. I don't think this logic makes much sense. I can see how this won't appeal to all NES fans, but I'm approaching this from a "Oh my gosh...this is such a cool thing to do with LEGO" mindset. I could buy an NES, I guess. But I have little desire to play any of those games. I don't really get why it would be one or the other, I guess is what I'm trying to say. As for investing, I'm not going to bother. Above the price point I dabble in for that and I don't like dealing with quick flipping. Edit: maybe this a really good set for fairweather NES fans, like me?! Is that what it is?
  26. I don't think you are considering the target market for a set like this.

I built BricksWithWings' MOC of Buck Rogers Starfighter over the weekend. It's one of my favorite ships and brings back a lot of childhood memories. It's about 400 pieces. The instructions cost $4, and I sourced the bricks from my bulk bin and Bricklink. I spent less than $30. This is the first MOC I've built, and it really makes you appreciate Lego's instruction manuals and build process. Granted, they are a multi-million dollar company and it's unfair to compare them to a fan-designed instruction manual. Overall, I am happy with the build, and I even swooshed it around the house afterwards. The look on my teenage daughter's face was priceless. Side note: I didn't follow the instruction manual for the display stand and ended up building my own stand with bricks I had on hand.
  28. Forget CEO's desk. Finally, a set worthy of Geeks' desks all around the world
  29. I just sold my house so I can buy 1,000 of these.
  30. It was made during the 425th week of 2020 in Kladno. Your box is from the future, specifically the week of 2/20/2028. Please let us know which set this is, so we can avoid it... as they already have 8 years of supply ready for it. My assumption is it is the 10220 T1 Camper Van
