  6. I really don't see how they can offer such great deals on huge sets, express ship them internationally (for free), and still make a profit.

  7. FYI Zavvi has the Technic Defender on sale again for $144 with free shipping. It is also tax free (depending on your state.) Use the code DEFENDER at checkout.

  9. It’s by far the most accurate, comprehensive and publicly available list out there for EU that I know of. Short term changes may occur, but they keep that list very well maintained with all recent Information coming in once they have released it (they added 10257 to last years list at a later point in time, for example).

  10. They are usually very accurate. However, often times Lego will extend the EOL date of very popular sets which is why I'd use this list as a guideline only.

  12. I like how when I go through and look at the pictures of the sets, I can't tell one Hidden Side set from the other! The art killed that series. I think they have some neat things in it so it's too bad.

  16. Today it's nice to see that BrickPicker has achieved the milestone of hitting 100,000 registered users. Sure all of those members are not active, but regardless it's a nice achievement to hit, something Ed and I never would have thought would have hit years ago. New and better things are on the horizon, so stay tuned! Thank you for registering @lasloo!!!!!!!

  17. How is your shipping cost that high? Most dual boxed brickheadz are somewhere between 13-15 ounces with the boxes I send mine in. Still first class prices. Granted, that would only save you $3 or so and still put you in the minus. Just $8 shipping for a brickheadz seems very high.

  19. Decent deal there as well. Currently Walmart is running their summer clearance. Most Hidden Side sets are currently included ranging from 50-54% off. Shrimp Shack is $25 in most stores. Check the WM Clearance thread for more details and deals. Decent deal there as well. Currently Walmart is running their summer clearance. 24. Ok thanks everyone for the responses. It was not very clear to see with the deal being expired. Consider me educated and let's not hijack the thread based on my ineptitude! To get things back on track, I did find a similar deal for the Hidden Side Shrimp Shack Attack, for those interested. It's 20% off and bundled with a $10 e-gift card. However with the line being discontinued there may very well be 50%+ discounts coming in the future so something to consider : https://www.walmart.com/nco/LEGO-Hidden-Side-Shrimp-Shack-Attack-with-free-10-Walmart-Gift-Card/629874356

  25. I think this is what you were missing: The set is $50 RRP. Walmart had it for $40 (20% off) PLUS you get a $10 gift card (essentially ANOTHER 20% off.) The net was getting a $50 RRP set for $30 for a total of 40% off. Your Target example was a total of 25% off.

  26. It was 20% off at Walmart PLUS a $10 gift card for each one you bought. Assuming you bought 4 total and applied the $20 in gift cards to the second purchase you ended up getting 4 for essentially 30% off. So, most definitely better than Target.

  29. Got an email from eBay today about my active listings "Your listings can now accept offers to attract more buyers" and in the body of the email, it has this "If you don’t want to receive offers, go to manage offer settings to update your preference." When in the heck did this start? Now I have to go into each of my listings and revise them to turn off the best offer functionality? I found the below post in the eBay Community. Is it true I can't turn this feature off? It is actually worse than that. I have a Buy-it-Now listing that's scheduled to run 30 days. I unchecked the "Accept Offers" box when I created it, but about a week after listing, eBay sent me a message saying they had turned it back on. I went into my listing and turned it off, and 2 days later, they sent me another message saying they'd turned it back on! I contacted eBay customer support and asked them "How do I disable this? If I wanted to accept offers, I would have selected that in the first place". She said "you can't - there is no way to turn it off". It is apparently something new they're trying, but if they get enough negative feedback, they will either abandon it, or at least offer some kind of account setting to disable it. So everybody who doesn't like losing control over your listings, complain, complain, complain!

  31. I'm surprised as well, it's done even quicker than nexo I think. I bought some of them for myself and think they are quite nice in terms of sets and details on the figs. The box art is a mess though. Will wait for the castle to go on clearance.

  32. 7709 Sentai Fortress. I know this set doesn't get much love (or Exo-Force in general) but I had a great time building it. Quite a bit going on in this set, 2 mechs, 2 tall towers, service area, entry gate and walls. I had to put the towers on the inside for it to fit on the shelf once it was moved, it was almost 3 feet wide without doing that. I think if a set like this was released today under Ninjago it would do really well, but hey, it was cheap even after 10 years of retirement Bonus: I wish Brickset had a tag for "folding box". And that Lego did that anymore in general

  38. Pretty cool stuff. Jeff and I have really been blessed over the years to meet so many intelligent and generous people through the site. Brickpickers have helped keep my sons' school open with their generosity and their participation in the annual LEGO raffle and have taught me a lot about business and reselling. Writing two books , writing for BLOCKS and being in the USA Today was really special and it was because of YOU that we had the chance to do it. I feel bad not being more active as of late, but we are moving in the middle of a pandemic and it has sucked all the time and life from me. Hopefully, I can back to my life again in a few weeks after packing, inspections and paperwork is over. I'm excited by what Jeff has shown me with his new changes that are coming to the site that will simplify and improve many of our main features. Thanks again everyone! Ed Mack

  40. No worries, it was a legit question. Thinking more about it, probably would be good to have a running tally of what may be retiring as it is. My reaction was not appropriate and I do apologize for that. The internet can be a hateful place unfortunately and definitely don't want to add to that, especially in today's world...

  41. Had a conversation with a very helpful LEGO Store Employee. - helpful how? She shared that many of these sets are not retiring - we know this will continue to pour in as the factories are coming back on line. - we also know this. I inquired about several specific ones that she was able to give ETAs on. - like? basically whole post about nothing.

  42. That's actually in excellent condition for a set that size. I'm a little surprised it seems LEGO didn't put any internal boxes (like with the UCS falcon or y wing) to help with the weight sloshing around, but what you have is easily sold in good condition with "shelf wear". Just browse some of the ebay listings out there to see that yours is among one of the better. I know you're wondering how to resurface after the multiple replies you got... you may feel thoroughly rebuked; we've all been there before. I like brickpicker because we are striving to hold the investor / reseller community to a higher standard. At the same time, we all have more faults than we would like to admit. Take the advice and unfortunately a smaller slice of the pie and move on. I'm still confident you can make a profit with what you have, the price is slowly climbing up.
