  1. I hate to admit it, but operating in "Christmas mode" (fulfilling several orders every day) during summer is wearing me down. I may need to shift to undercutting other sellers via FBA instead Or maybe I am just getting too old for this game

  2. For those of you lamenting how you may have missed out on the b&n sale, amazon & target have a lot of those same sets discounted online right now. How do you know what sets b&n discounted? Just ask them for the list of course!

  6. You can find those deals from time to time in France at our local toy shops or shops selling toys which have the collector lego boxes. In France we usuallly get : buy two get the cheapest one - 50% or buy two get one free. It is actually a good sale for Big collector series because you usually only find them in Lego store For example you can find this sale in King Jouet or Picwictoys (Before Toys ur us) in France. They usually do the sale 3-4 times a year. The best toy shop is the King jouet in Paris, they have a lot of nice big boxes there. For example they had the UCS millenium falcon and the UCS Imperial star destroyer on sale too. They came to around $1150 for the two sets. Didn't have enough cash to buy them but certainly a good deal. You can't buy them online though but maybe if you came on vacation to France you could purchase them at the same time. The sale usually lasts 10 days. Regards

  8. "Moderating"? Nah. They only page me when people start complaining about out of topic posts on Daily Deals thread

  9. 1. Perhaps buyer used to live in CA? I have the same number since college and I have not live there in ages [emoji3] 2. I bet he/she wants a deal outside of eBay 3. Technically eBay frown on the above but it is up to you to text or not
    2 points
  10. geezer. don't you have some boxes to pre-fab instead of "moderating"?
    2 points
  11. Do not text them. Give them one chance to ask the questions via ebay messaging. If no response, cancel the sale and relist.

  12. Finished this up last week. Its a really nice set with some interesting building techniques. I bought the set for the bookshop - my parents wrote children's books when I was a kid and it reminds me of the independent bookshops we used to visit for their presentations, but honestly I liked the house build more. I know this has received criticism for being small, etc, but the details are really nice. I built the Grand Emporium a few months ago and there is a definitely a difference in style between the earlier modulars and the trend of newer ones, but not a bad one in my opinion. I do agree that LEGO missed a great opportunity to create more clever book titles like they did with the Palace Cinema movie posters, and I feel like they could have tossed in a couple more leaf elements for the tree, but overall I think its a really great set!

  18. At least it is not 0 ? Technically people buy & sell on Craiglist etc without feedback I do not do those kinds of deals so I usually do not bother answering outside of eBay.

  19. Got 2 Harry Potter castles in France. One -30℅ for around $300 The other one I had to chose a second set for -50%. Bought the death star and the harry Potter castle. Got the castle for - 50 % so around $220 The death star is for my personal collection so don't mind paying the price. Need to get more 71043 on sale if I can. I'm sure it's going to be a very good investing set. Probably around $700 a few years after retiring and maybe more after.

  21. funny, i got 2 from the range a week ago @ £250, only 1 arrived in the box ( i bought 2) they said they would have to contact lego as it was direct from them, day later another arrives direct from lego.

  22. Mine screams at me because my zip code doesn't match my nearest zip code PO, so it's not the "origination" PO, and "they don't get credit for it." I have to drive through that zip code to get to my zip code's PO. I'm not driving an extra 20 minutes round trip, when I can just drop off at my nearest PO.

  23. Even if it is in store discount, the 10% member discount no longer applies to items that are already on sale. It's hard-coded in the register.

  24. more sellers = more competition = less profit. it's that simple. the smartest and most successful sellers on this site like to stfu about what is working and what they are doing.

  26. are you ordering through the app on your phone or through the website? any order i place through the app on iphone is instantly cancelled. same order placed over their web portal will make it through. i do many small orders scattered throughout the day. very rarely is an order over $300 unless its a larger set. i spent almost $20K on lego last month at target without issues other than smashed damaged boxes which i hardly ever return. USPS handles my high volume of orders by having the postal clerk scream at me when i come back from a 5 day trip and half their small town office is filled up with my target boxes.

  28. I was just notified by a seller on ebay that apparently the comics I bought on March 15 are being shipped. This is after he refunded me the full amount after a month of not being able to track the books down. I suppose I have to find a way to pay for them now

  29. nothing more you can do at this point other than initiating an inquiry. For domestic, it will probably take 2~3 biz days for usps to reply. meanwhile, talk to your customers and keep them patient. If you issue a refund right now, what if the packages finally arrive? If you do want to issue a refund, you still have to follow ebay's procedure so you can get your fee back, which means buyer has to open a case, and then clock starts to ticking and you have 3 days to find a solution. I think ebay will remove any neg feedback against you during this pandemic if the complaint is merely late delivery. So to me the most important thing is get usps to scan in the update.

  32. You actually think Lego is not going to be able to produce a new, popular set like Pirates of Barracuda Bay until next year? They're just going to forget Christmas when they make all their money??? And please refrain from saying "the new normal". It's an idiotic phrase that was pushed on us as a form of compliance and acceptance.

  34. I was on facebook marketplace and saw a LEGO store clearance. Everything said "LEGO", they even had the LEGO LEGO Shop at Home screens. The only thing that didn't have LEGO was the "contact us". What a scam.

  35. Are you noticing anything? You didn't even think it yourself. This wasn't precisely calculated by any of us, this has nothing to do with our analytic skills, in this economic crisis, we just happened to get lucky that everything turned out the way it did.

  39. Pop 'em open and build a life-size version. ToO was one of the first sets I bought when I came out of my dark ages. I was so amazed by some of the sets that had been available and then retired when I wasn't paying attention to LEGO. I missed a lot of good times apparently by not coming back into LEGO until 2017.

Apple knows wat's up.....already releasing a lower end iphone...Apple is a leader in market research...they know folks with less money still shop...but downscale from normal...if they want it...they have to get it ...in some form...it's like self deprivation is practically a sin for western society.

  43. These are big partnerships so it will take a lot of time before implosions can happen. However, you can certainly see some cracks. For example, have you noticed how small the Star Wars toy sections at Walmarts and Targets are compared to 2 years ago? As for 75278, easy pass just like 75187 due to my refusal to support the Disney SW trilogy. It may not be smart business decision though, we'll see
