Guys, DM me your ASINs that were affected. I have a list of them going for someone in the Tech department at Amazon. I'll throw yours on too.7 points

Not a deal, per se, but since many have been looking to pick up 75954: it's available through Shop at Home and you can get the Mother's Day card free (although I doubt it will arrive before Mother's Day).5 points

I happened to load this page when signing on. I clicked the link and it still works. I ordered two with the 20% off and two free $10 gift cards. After almost 2 months and it still works. I got an email notification of my gift cards seconds later, which I immediately used for the next order. After I got my next two gift cards, I ordered two more and then.... lol Pre-stay at home deals seem so much better.3 points

Here in Europe it is interesting times. My ebay sales ,are nearly at pre-xmas levels in terms of intensity, and I have been thankful to get rid of a few pieces of inventory that have been hanging around for a while. The May 4th promo , was the worst I have seen in terms of LEGO inventory in the UK for such a large event. No reduction on the usual sets - X-wing etc , but the poorer selling lines they need to get rid of, and coming-up to retirement. Even the GWP Death Star II sold out by Saturday evening here, where you can usually pick one up on last day of promo on most events. Other online retailers - Amazon etc are being less generous in terms of set discounts to protect margin. Even supermarkets which used to be a good hunting ground for EOL or mid season range reductions are selling most sets at full price. One wonders if even LEGO group, is now struggling to maintain its inventory, with supplier closures and delays in production, which must hit them at some point even if its for the raw material they use. The true measure to my business in these difficult times, will be late June and July, when I am expecting a dip in sales mainly from running out of some inventory. Those who have been furloughed will return to work, perhaps with an uncertain future in some industries, and watching the purse strings a little more closely. Despite being at home during the past 6 weeks, they may be a little less reluctant to spend out on 'boredom relief'. Its going to be a while , before all the World economies have adjusted to the new 'norm' in everything .Hopefully, it will recover enough by Xmas to be able to take advantage of a good Q4.2 points

The current modulars are so much smaller than the old ones that you could probably use the real things and barely notice a difference.2 points

Workout equipment is the new TP. This weekend I listed some extra weights and a rowing machine on FB marketplace and the responses were fast and furious. Within an hour everything was spoken for. One guy told me that it is impossible to buy weights anywhere due to the shutdown because so many people that normally go to gyms are looking.2 points

Yesterday, I tried to buy a sub $200 Chromebook in store at Walmart. They had zero. Not just sub $200 Chromebooks, but every laptop they were sold out of. I asked if other stores were like this, and they said yes. I checked the Seeker of the Brick, and discovered it's true - I couldn't walk into a store anywhere nearby and pick up a decently priced laptop. The tech guys told me it's been nuts - everyone is bored, and they're buying things to occupy the time. My neighbors went out today to buy a trampoline for their little girl. They couldn't find one anywhere. They even tried an online trampoline dealer, and were told they were sold out. Just two examples, but to me, it's just indicative of what I think we're going to experience for awhile. We're locked down. People are BORED. Even when things open back up, we're still going to see this. And we've got serious supply chain issues that are going to take a long time to fix. Those willing to risk will be greatly rewarded. I think if you're willing to wait until Q4, you might find great reward - especially if a second stimulus package gets passed. There could be money to burn, and no where to spend it, and very little stock to spend it on.2 points

A lot has to do with schools, distance learning. Chrome books in particular are favored by a lot of districts (some use apple), and they needed to have enough for every students who needed one (typically several classes will share the same set). Also it’s what they recommended to parents who could afford their own.1 point

The K-2SO was the one I thought would be a hit. Well done set, very likable character = gold in my book. I found one at a walmart for around $6. The woman at the cash register, before I could say a word, pulled the clearance sticker off the front of it and promptly tore about 1" of the paper off the middle, front of the box. (I was stuck between being stunned and wanting to kill her). I have never seen a cashier pull a sale sticker off like that before or since. My son ended up being the winner as he got it for Christmas.1 point

I'm taking a breather. Organizing my inventory, and plan to use the remainder of the pandemic bull market to blow out some of my mistakes - like those 2 beautiful Pirates Chess sets - I must have been drunk when I bought those. Interestingly, I've completed 230 sales on Ebay since November 2019, ranging from modulars to minifigs - I haven't had a single loss. No lost packages, no damaged boxes in transit, and no scams. I did have a couple close calls. Ebay unregistered a buyer after I had shipped a modular but I got the set back - reversed the Fedex shipping. And I got lucky with a few Toycentric encounters that didn't unwind. It's only a matter of time though, before all of us cross paths with a lunatic. They're out there, but they're even worse in the brick & mortar world. What makes me the most nervous is shipping to people in China with low feedback, through those Oregon freight forward shippers. They open the boxes and inspect the merchandise - anything can happen, and this seems to be increasing. I'll bet the average rate of loss on Ebay transactions overall is about 1%, which is pretty amazing to me.1 point

Yeah, I sold a squat rack and about 400 pounds of plates for $300 in January (clearing space). Last week, I found an extra 30 pounds of plates and within five minutes, they were sold on FB for $40. He said my original sale would have gotten me well over $1,000 right now. Weights are impossible to find. (Check out prices for Bowflex adjustables)1 point

New one for me.... "I'm 79 years old and just won 10232 and paid by PayPal. I thought I was bidding on an Assembly Square. If you have an Assembly Square I'd like that as I already have a Palace Cinema. I don't know what I will do with another palace cinema. My wife thinks I am crazy already. Maybe we can work out something." The guy paid instantly $305 + shipping. Here is the title: "LEGO Creator Palace Cinema 10232 MODULAR SET New, Sealed Bags, open box". 79 or not, idk how you make that mistake. And why would I sell him an Assm. Sq for that price?! I refunded him and instantly did a second chance to the next guy. Haven't heard back.1 point

Agree. The Astronomy Tower coming out only helps Great Hall, because I'd say you can kind of have a nice Hogwarts setup without the other sets, but you can't have one without the Great Hall!1 point

Exactly. Discounts are always a plus but even at retail it will still do well. If there is another restock then it will probably go away this winter. If that happens then there will be more buying opportunity, possibly on clearance. Either way retirement is close, so the time to buy is now.1 point

I have a feeling it’s going to quietly disappear into the night. I have no inside information. Just a hunch. Most of the other sets from that first wave in 2018 are pretty much done already. The third wave is coming this summer. I’m hoping it’s done.1 point

Hey, Just want to introduce myself quickly. I'm from sunny England and have been a big fan of Lego since I was a kid. I've been trying to get my children into Lego to use them as an excuse to buy more but its not working. We went to Legoland Denmark last year and visited the Lego House and really enjoyed it. I think me and my wife had more fun than the kids. My wife was recently looking on Amazon and she came across the Lego Friends Central Perk set (21319) and asked me if it would be a good investment to buy to hold onto for a future date. This then got me thinking about investing in Lego. I also saw someone on youtube who had The Simpsons house set (71006) which he purchased a few years ago and stored away, he subsequently sold it for nearly 3 times the purchase price. Now I understand this is not going to happen all the time but I did find it interesting. The only fear I have is how to stop myself from playing with the sets..... So in a nutshell, I like the idea of investing in Lego however I am apprehensive so thats why I joined here to do a bit more research and if I dont end up investing maybe I can find a few cheap sets to treat my kids (Me) too. Thanks Coops1 point

I listed it thanks. I like money, and It did not really fit my lego display themes anyway. Plus I never hated a vacation more than our family’s nightmare trip to Disney haha.1 point

The mechanoids do transition better/easily through the medium of LEGO than the humans and this one for me is the best second to General Grievous.1 point
