The media has been loving this mess since day 1. I am sure they would love this to go on for months and months.5 points

Well, his base instincts got him to the position that he is in. Is he annoying, nasty, unprofessional, unpresidential and self serving at times? Sure. Do most Americans support or approve of his behavior? Probably not. There are times when I say, "What the f*ck are you talking about?" and wish he would just shut the Hell up. But at the end of the day, the country has done pretty well under his presidency IMO up to this virus. He has not been treated fairly at all by most media and they skew or manipulate most stories related to him. Believe me, he doesn't help himself and gives them plenty of ammunition. And yes, Canada and the US are kindred countries. I am glad that Canada is handling this properly, because we might need your help to deal with issues here. But fault lies with many here in the US and other countries. We are having a hard time approving a stimulus in Congress because people want to add crazy BS to the package like solar energy credits, airplane emission levels, and other things that have no bearing on helping American workers and small businesses that are closed and/or struggling. America will overcome, despite of the president and politicians. The nurses, doctors and scientists will battle on the front lines. American ingenuity and factories will help on the back end. I wish you well...4 points

Hello from Fulfillment by Amazon, To ensure the capacity to receive, restock, and ship high-priority products like household staples and medical supplies, we have temporarily paused removal operations in some of our fulfillment centers. You can continue to create removal orders, but there will be delays in completing the requests. Similarly, auto-removals will be delayed. As a result, we are waiving the April 15 long-term storage fees for inventory stored in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, and the Czech Republic. You can review the status of your removal orders here and find more information on this Help page. Please note Selling Partner Support does not have further guidance. We know this is a change to your business and we did not make this decision lightly. We are working around the clock to increase capacity and appreciate your understanding as we temporarily prioritize household staples, medical supplies, and other high-demand products for customers.4 points

Steering this back to what I tried before.... I was able to secure about 4000 masks from a fulfillment vendor to donate to a local hospital chain. That will give them about an additional 1-2 days of supply. Not a lot but every day matters until we can get our production levels increased. Considering we are all experts in arbitrage/unusual sourcing methods anyone else got any sources?4 points

New York City is the main reason for our huge increase in cases. It is what it is. The large amount of travelers from China and Europe makes it next to impossible to control in such a large city unless you crack down like they did in Wuhan. That won't happen, unless you wan't to risk riots and many other issues. They have the subways operating and they are packed. Same with trains and buses. They are petri dishes. Fortunately for you, Canada is a large country with a population much smaller than the US. I would expect numbers to be much smaller. I also don't think you have hot spots like we have with large asian populations that could have been seeded by travelers. Don't brag about it, it's not really cool.3 points

It doesn't help that the garbage media is complicit in promoting stupid ideas: https://twitter.com/amber_athey/status/1242434881055064065 Then others in the garbage media run around blaming the politician, and ignore their colleagues' click-bait. It's all a big pile of stupid.3 points

The problem is we can help with stupid being President. When the President says something, unfortunately people are going to listen. If a public health official said that, they could and would be successfully sued by victims’ families. This is where we are, the US president cares more about his numbers than the well being of those who elected him, and Id wager anyone who does what he says is a supporter. The man is morally bankrupt and has profoundly dishonoured his office, even moreso than his usual daily dishonouring.3 points

FWIW the stimulus bill is being held up because unlike previous stimulus measures (e.g. TARP) where there was a clear bi-partisan oversight committee over the funds, the current plan puts all the oversight on one individual, the President. This makes the whole deal a no-go for the opposition.2 points

Good thing is that everybody needs 2 - one bay and one ship2 points

If we use that logic, then everything the President says is going to be believed by a large number of people. Including Impeachment, "Lock her up," and a host of other things. I could say the same thing with Mr. Trudeau. And frankly, with any other politician. But let's stop at the name calling (again). You can criticize what he said, but calling him "morally bankrupt" is what we're trying to avoid in this thread. At the end of the day, this couple was stupid. Don't make excuses for them. If it wasn't the President saying it, then they would have heard it from somewhere else, and been just as dumb. When my 8 year old says, "but Logan Paul said to do it!" I don't give him a pass. And he's 8.2 points

The fact that there are people like this out there and probably breeding, is a much larger problem than the corona virus.2 points

What did he say exactly? He said that he has high hopes for the Chloroquine and that doctors are going to use this in trials in NY starting today. He didn't say go buy some aquarium parasite cleaner at Billy Bob's Fish store and suck it down. People have to use their friggin' brains and stop blaming others for poor decisions.2 points

When I was a kid, my mom used to ask me, "if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?" There is a thing called personal responsibility. There are stupid people out there. These are the same people that think the CD tray on a desktop is a cup holder. Can't help stupid.2 points
-
If you want to argue about the "cure" statement, feel free. But saying he is at fault because a couple of dopes drank aquarium parasite solution and got sick and/or died is just ridiculous. The Chloroquine is now being used by hundreds, if not thousands, of doctors across the globe. Hopefully it works.2 points

I don’t think any reasonable person is blaming trump for the corona virus or the market collapse. Most people are upset how he handled the information starting in Jan up to last week. That is what this graph is showing. Our slow response means we will be the new epicenter and will have to deal with that mess. the biggest argument is had we been more agile and reacted sooner, we would be back online sooner and not what we are witnessing unfold before us.2 points

Found some water under my sink last night. Thought it might be the faucet, as it was giving me trouble a few weeks ago. Nope, not it. So I get under there, and have the wife help me out. Have her turn on the garbage disposal, and there's an explosion of water from it! Turns out the disposal had a huge crack in it. I've never installed a garbage disposal before today. It's been quite an adventure. In reality, it's very easy to do. However, I of course had to make it difficult. I stopped at Costco this afternoon and picked up a nice one at a good price. Got it home, measured it, and discovered - oh no! - it's way to big. So I had to run out to Lowe's to find a similar model to the one I already had (it had a good 20 year run). Then took my time reading the directions multiple times to make sure I wouldn't blow the place up. Finally installed, and running smoothly.2 points

Why does Facebook have 700k masks? FACEBOOK CEO MARK ZUCKERBERG SAYS FACEBOOK DONATED EMERGENCY RESERVE OF 720,000 MASKS AS \"HEALTH WORKERS URGENTLY NEED MORE PROTECTIVE GEAR\"2 points

I grew up in the depths of my parents dirty basement living off mountain dew, candy, taco bell and frozen pizza's. Avoiding human interaction for months at a time grinding Diablo 2 and Starcraft BW. Its been rather nice having an excuse to hideout again. I hate to say it, but financially speaking this market is a dream. I bought my first house a couple years ago with a mortgage rate of 4.5% - refinanced down to 2.8%. I had quite a bit of cash left over from last year and will most definitely come out very far ahead in the stock market over the next 6 months. I get to work from home??? I'm sure many people will say this is bad idea but I'm considering taking out loans to further cheap investments. Money is ripe.2 points

Just a brief update to let you in on what I have been up to. I have some of the main price guide pages laid out and starting to wire everything together to make those pages functional. I am using a new design so it takes time to lay it out and make sense. I am not trying for total perfection since I am trying to get the site out to every one as soon as possible and will push updates over time to add more and fix things. Next up will be the Brickfolio so that I can get the site active for you all to have access to your data again. Today I am actually working on updating the Amazon code. I received call from Amazon on Friday asking me to please upgrade and convert my code to their new API. I really appreciate that they did that. I have known about it and they sent quite a few emails, but the fact that they reached out was very cool. I need to get this done or they will shut down any of the code that helps the daily deals feed (whether you love or hate it).2 points

I agree with this. This money should be spent on regular Americans and small businesses. If not, this 500 billion should be divided up by a bi-partisan group.1 point

Canadians are almost all clustered within 100 miles of the US border, and we have 2 major Asian communities in Toronto and Vancouver. Both are very multicultural, indeed Toronto is recognized as the most multicultural city on the planet. We’ve had one death. Ontario is 40% of the population but far less a share of the infections and deaths across the country. Almost half of our deaths are from one old age home in Vancouver area. Most of our initial infections were from people returning from seeing family in Iran which has been really hard hit.1 point

Typical political response. Let's move along. One can say I am not really impressed with any of these leaders and their responses.1 point

I didn’t realize high school teacher Trudeau ran the country back then. Here’s how a leader behaves: “We are continuing, in Canada, to base our decisions and our recommendations and our guidelines to Canadians on science,” Trudeau said. “Our priority is keeping Canadians alive and healthy and that is what we will continue to focus on in Canada.”1 point

Don't worry. The previous post for this didn't have a set number for it (it was unknown when I created the topic). It's always tough on the Ideas threads. The original thread title also speculated that this would be Ideas Set #31, but it's really #30. The Piano was announced around the same time, so the numbers might be switched. Depends on what comes to market next. There's quite a few in the chute now.1 point

I'm a Pirates fan, I love the ship, I love the box, but damn... the original bay looked 20 times as good as this one... looks childish, the layout is semi-good & the design overall is just disappointing imo... I'll have to wait for a 25% discount1 point

Mark Zuckerberg on Sunday Health workers urgently need more protective gear. To help, Facebook donated our emergency reserve of 720,000 masks that we had bought in case the wildfires continued. We're also working on sourcing millions of more to donate. I hope you're all staying healthy and safe!1 point

Neither of which are his fault but hey, I could care less if others agree with me or not which is why this is such a great country is we can agree to disagree. Well Canadians opinions really don't matter to our politics so......1 point
