Good on you for having boundaries and respecting them. I got rid of all of my social media accounts at the end of 2019. Deleted everything - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, etc. it is a very refreshing way to live life, setting and keeping boundaries for online, whatever they may be.7 points

I try to stay off the site at night, but I get updates about activity. I saw a lot of activity and was wondering if it was all negative posts. I was very happy to see these memes.4 points

I did read an amusing quote about it “Nice part is it’s been around a long time, so if things don’t go well, we know it won’t kill anyone,” Trump said. I mean that is a plus...3 points

God given is used as a way to define our rights as from a higher power than government. We don't get our rights from government, we're born with them. The Bill of Rights is actually a list of things the government can't do, not things the people can. I'm sure I'm butchering that explanation and while we're not perfect, that's the gist of why America is awesome.3 points

I have a bunch of used/complete Lego sets from my personal collection and I've been mailing them out to my friends across the country to let them and their kids build/play. Just on loan as most of my sets are big $200+ sets. So far I've sent out Bugatti, Big Roller Coaster, Fairground Mixer and Sea Cow.2 points

LOL...I just run out of gas at night after trying to tackle all these new issues on a daily basis. It was hard enough to run my business and family life before, but now I miss those days. I find myself watching TV and reading Twitter less and less. There are just too many people with agendas spewing fear and looking to profit off of this. Yeah, this is uncharted territory and will get worse, but the world will overcome and the best and the brightest among us are attacking this with a passion never seen before.2 points

Ok. When you said address changed to Alabama, I thought this was potential scam, thus my answer. I assume the address is a PO Box then? Fedex does not ship to PO Box2 points
-
This is what I would do: 1. Take a screenshot of the error for your documentation. DO NOT change the address at any circumstances, not for $380 order 2. Cancel the order and select "problem with address". You will lose Paypal fee on this 3. Here is the tricky part. If you think this was an honest mistake, you can message buyer and ask them to reorder with correct address. Or, you can block them and move on2 points

I agree that's a tough age. There's only so much coloring one can do, and they are a bit too young to be completely self directed. When my kids were that age, sometimes I'd pull out a big shipping box and they'd turn it into a robot or kitchen or police-car or something, by cutting and coloring and pasting stuff to the sides. "Magic shows" were big back then too---sometimes with hilarious results.2 points

How old are your kids? We've home schooled for 6 years, so this is just another spring for us (minus the social/sports calendar). Many of the home-school support groups and publishers are offering free stuff galore. Just need to tap into it. For example there are some literature reviews available from Kolbe here for grades 3-12.2 points

So basically you were just rambling and stating no actual fact other then just personal feelings about a country and people you seem to know little about???? Got it😆2 points

God given? It wasn’t even in the original constitution but was an amendment! Your insanely high gun death rate compared to every country on Earth is exactly why government should be telling you how to control it, like any other health matter. Most criminals acquired their guns legally. They pull guns on each other. They were law abiding until the moment they pulled the gun. Stolen guns commonly come from “law-abiding” homes. It happens. All the time2 points

The issue is every one's parents or grandparents are within the at-risk demographics. The fact is the majority of the population do care about their parents and their grandparents and want them alive rather than dead.2 points

I wanted to create a new thread in order to give progress on my site updates. I want explain a bit on what happened and what I am doing. What happened with the site? Honestly nothing really exciting or dramatic, overall in the end, I did not want to support the host I was with for the past four years after not really offering too much help with managed servers. They would spend 30 seconds looking, say they can ping the server so its up and then just say, "hey not my problem". I was on aging hardware, paying the same amount of money, so I took the opportunity to move to a new host with better/faster hardware and a staff that does help to support you when run into an issue that you can't handle on your own. I have been doing this a long time and pretty good monitoring and handling 99% of what comes my way, but there are issues that you need the next level up to help figure out what to do. I wasn't getting anything like that, but paying for it. Not anymore. What my goal is... I know more than anyone that the site needed some TLC. It's been a while since I have done any drastic updates, the site looked tired and I know the site can be so much better than what it's current state was. LEGO investing has changed since Ed and I launched the site and it's time to remove the dead content and bring more of what people are looking for. Below is the short term list of items planned for updating. I have been working on the nightly, just like the early days and enjoying seeing parts of it coming to life. Fix the login. This has been messed up and quirky for a while. This has been resolved and working well. It's a simple thing overall, but nice that it actually works how it's supposed to Overall price guide site design update. The site was tired and disjointed. I hated it and pained me to look at it. Time to start over. Brickfolio update. All the Brickfolio data is safe. I have close to three million rows of data for Brickfolio entries. Time to bring this thing to 2020. I will probably create another thread at some point to solicit some feedback on some new requests for the brickfolio Fix the data syncing with Brickset. A lot of people used this feature, but it's time to make it work the way it should. Later I will work on the content portions. The news and blogs. I have some good ideas for this, but want to get the price guide and brickfolio to you sooner than later. What I am asking for if possible... If you can, please stop asking where the brickfolio is. Again, the data is safe and I am working as fast as I can to bring it all back to you. It won't be a few days, but more like a few weeks, but it will be worth it. I setup my dev environment to push releases quick and easy. I want to create a true changelog so that you can follow updates to see what was done/fixed/new/removed, you know like what real software companies do. I really do appreciate your patience with this. It wasn't planned, but if there was going to be a time to do it, it was going to be now.1 point

If only it was that simple. There are a combination of factors currently at play in Italy, age is only one of them. For anyone else who read the article and still not convinced, We as a country should be most concerned with these conclusions, which I found very interesting with our current obesity/diabetes rates. ‘Some 76.1 percent of the patients who died of Covid-19 previously had problems with high arterial blood pressure, the study found. More than a third - 35.5 per cent - had diabetes, while 33.0 per cent had suffered from ischemic heart disease. Scientist have not yes established why people with high blood pressure are more vulnerable to Coronavirus’ This should be of concern knowing our country’s high obesity & diabetes rates. I keep having a bad feeling Florida is the slowest to react and are just waiting to repeat Italy. there are still people on vacation fishing in the Everglades. Think about where they will lie on the response curve.1 point

Let's hope it is effective. It's amazing the red tape and bureaucracy out there...like the N95 masks for example. Companies didn't want to make them for fear of lawsuits because they were being used for medical purposes. It wasn't until the Feds said they would insure the masks that they are moving ahead with production.1 point

Believe it or not, Kmart.com still exists in 2020. They are down to ~60 different LEGO sets in stock. I received an email today giving me $15 on a $100 purchase, plus there is a $10 back on $40 promo. Some sets have long since retired. Minecraft 21136 Ocean Monument is going for close to $200 FBA right now, and can be had for ~$110 after shipping, tax and freecash (before any points you might have), with $11 back in points. Not a lot of margin yet, but if you have more points to burn this might be of interest. No guarantees on the condition of the set once it arrives - haven't ordered from them in almost a year (since they closed all their stores in a 100 mile radius from me).1 point

have you tried going via Paypal to ship (assuming this was paid through Paypal)? Or just doing www.paypal.com/shipnow and manually enter the address?1 point

Almost 5 and 3 year old girls. They don't know about YouTube yet, or at least they don't request to watch it, so thats a challenge we are dealing with, knowing that some people are live streaming classes/activities. Otherwise, we have been printing tracing sheets for letters and numbers for them to use, doing various crafts and activities around the home. But those ideas are running in short supply. They did both create a DOTS bracelet this morning, which was nice.1 point

You watch too many movies. Our second amendment right creates a situation where this God given right is honored and respected with most if bot every single gun owner I know, which is a lot has the highest priority and training in use and storage. We don't need government to tell us Other than stopping criminal activity to your own person, family or others normal law abiding Americans don't pull guns on each other. It just doesnt happen. Criminals don't care about rights, don't respect any law and are out to cause destruction.1 point

I see this argument a lot and it drives me nuts due to the math. covid-19 is a 1:1 equation. Get infected, have a percentage chance of death. Auto accidents - you don't calculate against number of people, you have to calculate against number of TRIPS since you essentially bear the risk each time you drive. So this number is going to be way more miniscule in comparison. Alcohol and smoking are cumulative so I think different altogether. I don't disagree that as a society we've sort of accepted these as bearable risks even though we know the numbers. And yeah, kids lives are being upended because they can be carriers, not because they might die from it.1 point
-
Here's what I don't get in regards to how drastic of measures are being taken for such a small risk to 99% of the population. Worldwide there are roughly: 1.3million deaths a year to auto accidents 1.8millions deaths a year to alcohol 6million deaths a year to smoking Yet these numbers are for the most part completely acceptable because god forbid we take away somebodies luxuries for the sake of 9million deaths a year. These things however don't discriminate against certain age groups or illnesses. My 4 kids are a million times more likely to get killed by a car or second hand smoke then the Coronavirus yet their lives are being upended because of it.1 point

I agree with this. Either go big or go home. People will not stay locked in their homes for months. It just will not happen unless zombies are walking the streets. This has to run its course. People have to get sick and recover. These social distancing measure will help keep the hospitals from exploding in patients, but there will be bad situations in many hot spots. We have removed many features in my business where people get out of their cars or can infect others. We are drive thru everything right now. We are shrinking our employees on location at any one time. We will lose efficiency, but I am hoping it will help. We will lose money for sure, but at least we are trying to help and running. Under most circumstances, people will not get infected in a large retail store unless forced to wait on line. Case in point. Home Depot is only letting 50 people in a store at any one time. Home Depot? Have you seen the size of a typical Home Depot? They are lining people up outside and letting people go in as they come out. There is more of a chance passing the virus on line than in the store. This is a policy that needs modification.1 point

The current age designation of the greatest skill level required is 16+. These new Star Wars bust sets do require an additional 2 years of training in the Lego arts in order to master the build.1 point

I like it but can definitely see what you mean about the skin. My son got 75248 Resistance Awing for Christmas. He’s not much of a Star Wars guy tho, and I got tired of seeing it partly built so I finished it today.1 point
