  1. Whew. That looks....difficult. No wonder I stick with system and stay away from Technic!
  2. 50 pages in. Going slow & double checking everything. Really enjoying it.

  4. As a build over Christmas with my youngest we finished Treebeard (with some modifications to Jason Allemann's original design to fit Pippin and Merry). Jasons only used parts came from a (crushed box) 10236 but we ended up adding a few other types of foilage. Still planning to sort out the face a bit, but overall we are really happy with it. A great build and one we'll keep and have a case built for.
  5. I've thought about starting on this one. Seeing all those gears makes me excited but keeps me from working on my real car projects!
  6. You can't put much on that. Their inventory goes so quick at some store stat they are constantly shuffling sets around as they sell out and try to fill the voids. I lot of the time those tags are just there from whatever occupied that spot earlier.

  8. About to start this big boy. No numbered bags?! Old school technic time I guess. Just noticed I got two identical sticker sheets. Anyone else built this know if that's standard?
  9. We have signage here that it's having another run in stores - our major stores are all getting another batch in for January and have been taking preorders. I'd say it'll retire July or Dec 2020 (the latter being more likely).
  10. I think I would take it better if he was replacing this hobby with something better than Pokemon. All he does is sit there and stare at those stupid cards all day.
  11. Wow! I went to one Costco after Christmas and all the Lego except the Creative was gone -- all the toys. It was echoed here as well so I figured that was it. Last year their toy inventory lingered a bit.
  12. Glad I stopped at the Costco while out of town at my in-laws! Couldn't believe they were still there.
  13. Just sold the last of my Ecto suits & Orthancs, so that's a big 10-4 on only the winners.

  15. I’m half Chinese. My wife is Chinese. No Chinese or Asian that I know are offended. In fact, it looks great. Kids love it because it’s colorful and cool. Also, it’s in line with the ninjago series, so why is this different? Western people need to stop being offended on behalf of other cultures. You being offended on our behalf is true racism...racism of low expectations. I often feel complimented when other cultures try out our cultural foods, clothing, and other festivities. If you don’t like it, then that’s your choice. But don’t dislike it on behalf of other people.

My eight year old decided he's done with Lego and would like to put all of his sets away. He's bagging them up as I type, and this is hitting me harder than I thought it would.
