From a reseller perspective I agree. But from the LEGO fan in me, I’m always excited to hear about the next modular. The buildings are unique, and they are themed well. The speculation is fun, and even if the rumors are correct, what I imagine is never as cool as what they come up with. With the endless redos of police, fire and Star Wars, the yearly modular is always nice for it’s ability to stand on its own.

Considering a modular has a half life of about 4 years, I am in no rush to count down the hours to the reveal.

I'm not a more seasoned FBAer, but I just sent stuff in today. I think that the prices after Christmas will settle out around today's prices anyway. There will be a run up of prices in the week before Christmas when everybody is scrambling for last minute gifts and Amazon (or other FBAers) run out of inventory, but then it settles back down again by mid-January. So, as @exciter1 said, it doesn't really matter if you sell it before or after Christmas. If you're happy with the prices today, there's a good chance that you'll be happy with the prices after Christmas too.

But would it though? I feel like part of Baby Yodas massive popularity was due to the surprise. If we had been Porg'ed out with Baby Yoda months in advance we'd probably be complaining what a lousy idea he was....

Things have definitely changed in brick and mortar stores since the late 90s. I remember picking up (for example) all the original Harry Potter and Star Wars sets, circa 1999-2008, including UCS, for 75 percent off at Walmart and Target, right off the shelves. Meaning they would sit there for weeks through the 30-50% off cycles and reach 75%. Nowadays things start disappearing at 30% off. Which is why I mainly turned to online shopping, where these deeply discounted deals still happen. Saves on gas too.

Overproduction, and too many sets, catches up at the end. Aftermarket prices have suffered as well because of this... but if you buy at the right prices, your ROI shouldn't suffer much. Across the board my ROI has been pretty flat, but I'm not buying until 60% off or higher on most things.

Just my two cents...but Amazon has become much more efficient at checking in boxes this year.

Does it really matter if you sell before or after Christmas?

Rumor is that the reveal will happen at Singapore Comic Con 2019, which is Dec 7 and 8. Singapore is +13 hours from EST. So 10 am Friday in Singapore will be 9 PM Thursday on the east coast. That’s about 36 hours from the time of this post.

Glad we are on the same page. Interestingly, I came away with a very different interpretation based on what we've seen so far. From the flashbacks with the Separatist droids, we can assume that he was a child during the Clone Wars. The fact that he says he's been wearing his helmet since he was a child means that not only has he been raised as Mandalorian since he was found, but that bringing up orphans as Mandalorians predates the "Great Purge" and isn't in response to it. The big Mandalorian in episode 3 calls him a coward for working with the Empire. Note that he doesn't call him out as not being a Mandalorian. In the first episode, when his pauldron is made, the armorer says that the extra beskar would sponsor many foundlings to which he says he was once a foundling and she responds that she knows. I took that to be more of him agreeing with the extra going to "charity", sort of saying, I was there too, so of course I should pay if forward...kinda like tithing. As for the crest/signet, it appears to be related to a rite of passage, hence why it has to be revealed, and why the armorer was going to use the mudhorn for him to reflect his victory. As for everyone asking if he's a Mandalorian, I think it's similar to how it was in Rebels with the Jedi. The Mandalorians were legendary warriors. Since the purge, it's very rare to see them, so when you see a badass in fancy armor, your first question might be are you a Mandalorian. Just my take on it.

Oh, I agree with everything you said. I was just saying I suspect there is going to be something more about his birth heritage or something of an identity crisis. Think about how many times someone has asked him, "You're a Mandalorian, aren't you?" I think that was why his off-handed comment to the mom in ep4 about being taken in by them stood out to me. The whole theme seem to be about him establishing himself as a Mandalorian. He doesn't have a "crest" yet either. Wasn't that ep3 when the armorer asked him that question? Seems to line up. Based upon what we've seen of Baby Yoda, I think he'd just eat the Porg.

Received Cloud City from Target today, crushed on one whole end☹️ Contacted them and sent pictures of item and shipping box which was 4x to big and had almost no padding and they gave me another 15% off? I love Target, Cloud City for $180!

Just get Fedex to drop them off at a local Fedex office or Walgreens so you can pick up at your leisure without having to spin a web of lies. "Oh, these giant boxes? Filled with air packets because I need more for shipping out all of these large sets I already have. Plus, they come with their own giant boxes I can use. Win win. I'll open these in the basement now so you don't have to worry about them. Gosh, you're looking pretty today."

A store has the mini but no large set to sell it with.

It is already on Rebrickable so just add it to a wanted list. Not sure anyone would really want to part out the set. Everyone would only want the instructions, box and sticker.

It’s all buy in and appreciation. Most of my sets were discounted and many appreciated for years. Although I was paid a higher amount because I used a consignment deal, even at 50% current Amazon prices I would be in the black.

No offense intended! I'm ust afraid that BY might have ended up like a Porg if Disney merchandising had gotten their hands on him sooner. Too bad for Disney, but I won't lose sleep over them losing a couple million in merch.

I’m going to act like you didn’t just compare baby Yoda to a Porg and try and compose myself. There’s a middle ground between releasing merch months before a series drops vs waiting to release it six months after premier. This would have been the must have toy to have this holiday season and I’m sure counterfeits are going to pop up any day.

This episode reminded me of the old Hulk show with Bill Bixby. He gets to a new town, meets a nice girl. Thinks he has found a safe place. Then stuff happens with the green guy and he is forced to move on. Hopefully every episode will not follow this pattern.

Slightly over a year ago I posted this: After this interaction he moved off to a different route and I stopped seeing him. About five months ago I bought my first house (yay me!). Moved about 10 miles away in the same town. Today, I swung by my house during lunch to finish up a shipment and grab the 40 boxes scheduled for delivery. As I'm loading my truck... THE SAME UPS GUY PULLS UP ?? He doesn't say anything to me (like usual after the incident). So I broke the ice by saying, "Are you stalking me?" His dead pan face immediately turned into one of rage.
