  2. I wouldn't think so. PayPal considers it settled if you can show that it was delivered from the USPS. I had an issue like this happen on EBay recently. They claimed they didn't get it, I provided proof that it had, and I never heard another word from them. PayPal ruled in my favor after several weeks since the buyer didn't have a leg to stand on. They should take it up with their local post office. Not that this person is trying to scam you, but you can't be giving refunds to everyone that said they didn’t get their item when you have documentation that they did, you'd go broke.

  3. All joking aside this sets Backordered here in the states. I bought mine May 4th at the Lego store and do not regret anything, in my opinion this is the best release of a tantive lV Lego has ever released. Glad to get it retail than to watch it retire again and look at over $500 later. Lol Added a UCS Stand cause it deserves it, plus with the extra pieces it came with and a few if my own, I added greebles inside the thruster pack. Looks Great!

  4. This is one of the great misconceptions of LEGO investing (besides the "spending VIP points during 2x VIP"). The value of your VIP points can be regarded the same as real money. So it does not make ANY difference if you make a bad buying decision a) using VIP points only or b) paying 100% with your real money. A bad purchase is not less bad because it was "for free" (using VIP points), since you could have spent the VIP points a better way anytime (just like with real money). It's the same misconception people have about gift cards they receive for birthdays etc. A bad purchase is a bad purchase - no matter how it's paid for.

  5. I know it does not compare to the amazing set ups shown but my daughter made this as she wanted to try to sell some extra figures she had at an open market. We had tons of fun and actually had profit after spending too much money there during the day. We will go back in the future and use the ideas shown in this thread.

  6. I would love to hear from Plastic Passion and others who bought tens of these each without prior investing experience. Wondering how they look at that investment now. Probably wondering why they are being called out by someone with 20/20 hindsight. We have all probably made investing mistakes, not sure the point of rubbing someone's nose in it.

  9. Unless anybody was able to purchase this set for $150 or under there was no reason to purchase this set. I remember the frenzy on this thread when they announced this set was retiring and I just shook my head. I mean I don't think I've seen a more manic thread on this site. A true example of how many dont do their own research. Protip, dump all your Tumblers asap & buy U.S. Capital & NYC Skyline at 25% off or more. You'll thank me later.

  12. I've sold several for 100% profit, so I feel pretty good about it. I only had 8, so it wasn't that risky.

  14. Learning quickly that big Technic sets are not designed to be taken apart. I've disassembled the 42042, and 90% done with 42055. It's tough on the thumbs. Also, there are times where I'm completely stuck - as in, "what I have in my hand is indestructible and there are no parts I can remove right now without breaking something." In addition, whoever designs these things is fully qualified to go out and get a job at a heavy-equipment manufacturer as a Senior VP of Product Design. Impressive - and I haven't put them together yet!

  15. Finished building the Lego Story set. Pretty neat build. There were a couple sections in the build where I think a professional designer would have done it a little better, but nothing that distracts from the final model. The 4 vignettes don't actually connect or hinge together, which is something I might try to mod. The instructions were pretty good, but since I make instructions for our sets I have a more critical eye. There were a couple steps where some subassemblies could have been easier. I think it comes from digital building vs physical building. Sometimes you need to physically put pieces together to see what order makes most sense. There were no missing parts, which is good. There are actually a fair amount of extra parts, but I'm not sure if that is intentional, or just variation in hand packing the sets.

  16. Finally watched Endgame to see what the fuss is all about. I was surprised to see the room was 80% full for a movie in its 3rd weekend. This thing is going to continue smashing all sorts of records

  18. Boxes are very nice. There’s a UV emboss pattern and yes they come sealed on the inner (remember the outer sleeve is meant to slide off and be a background) The exclusive piece feels disappointing because it’s rare now but not for long. I’m tempted to not reveal it but I’m sure it will be online soon so I might as well....

  19. Here is my set up from the last show I did before Christmas. It’s a lot of work but if the timing and venue is right then you can make a lot of sales with no online selling fees. Print up business cards and hand them out as well. I’ve developed a lot of local repeat business and a growing reputation as “That Lego Guy”. I preferred the open u-shaped set up since it allows me to interact a bit more than from across a table. That’s just me though.

  20. I had to engage Seller Support to bring back the real, non-bootleg listing for 41179 last week as it got flagged as “adult content” and hence was hidden in the search results. Going for $230+ FBA. Time to send in my last one (bought at $17 at Target).

  21. Lego 41179 Queen dragons rescue for $159.00 plus shipping. Picked up a dozen or so last year for between $30-40 when they went on clearance. Think I have about 8 left and the price seems to keep climbing on these.............

  22. Last year, just before TRU's bankruptcy, I bought all the 5004913 Nexo Knights Collector Cases I could find when they were clearanced for $1.98. Ended up paying $1.77 each after tax and rewards/coupons etc. Sometimes it's the not-so-special sets that are the best. -------------------------------------- Items in Order: -------------------------------------- * [New] Light Bluish Gray Plate 16 x 16 (x14) ..... US $5.55 each = US $77.70
