  2. Not a whole lot of building going on yet, but my parents were clearing out the attic and so have reclaimed my childhood Lego. Searched through it last night and found I had all the big castle panels for 6080, so that's going to be the next build. My kids loved the horses and knights.

  3. Had a used set listed BIN, no best offer, but of course I get somebody coming in at 30% off. I send them offer meeting them in the middle. I then get a bunch of questions. Prospective buyer: Is the set genuine Lego. Including the minifigs. Me: Yes. You can see Lego branding on the minifigs. Prospective buyer: Do you have the box? Me: No. Prospective buyer: You verified it is 100% complete? Me: I built it and ordered the missing pieces form Bricklink. I then took it apart in separate bags that match the instructions. Prospective buyer: Are the pieces from Bricklink genuine? Me: Yes. I should have blocked this guy at this point, but later that evening he bought the set and took until the next morning to pay for it and then sends this wonderful message. Buyer: I would like for you to kindly do me a favor and built this for me (^_^) and ship it in 1 complete piece inside big plastic bag and then tied it so when some pieces become loose they’ll stay inside the big bag(like clear trash bag maybe..lol) you can then put inside boxes with bubble wrap securely wraps around it inside boxes. I hope this possible, let me know thanks. Me: Unfortunately, I can't do this. The listing stated that is would ship disassembled and the reduced price did not factor in additional time to build or the additional cost to ship. I can cancel the transaction, just let me know. Buyer: It's ok, I'll have to build it myself. Please ship ASAP. Ugh. I should know better than to engage with buyers that have a ton of questions, but I've had some great transactions that started this way and they have lulled my defenses against buyers like this. Isn't the point of Lego to build the thing. I know others have received this request, but I didn't expect this after all the back and forth.

  8. Rebuilding in progress. Some missing pieces. But I really enjoy it. The minifigures are in excellent condition. Gold on logo is perfect.

  12. if you never shipped then just refund. If you had shipped you'd be fine and covered but seeing you haven't just refund the paypal payment. It should still pull up in the sold history of my ebay though and you might be able to do the cancel transaction from the drop down menu there as well. If it took the option away then just manually refund the paypal payment. They just pull it out of search history when they do that.

  16. My son really enjoys the new maps and game options. Easter eggs, cake and treasure is all that I hear him scream about. I guess that's better than shooting people up on GTA 5 or lighting them on fire in Red Dead Redemption 2.

  20. What’s wrong with party favors? I always thought they were more like a thank you to guests for coming, especially birthday parties where guests/kids brought presents. Oh and I picked up a couple of these beauties for $30 each at a Ross. Those places, like TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, often have treasures...aka free money.

  21. 20x 30529 Mini Master-Building Emmet The Lego 2 Movie polybags from Target that will be favors for my kids' birthday party tomorrow. I talked with the toy department manager who gave me $10 off for buying in bulk (was hoping for more of a discount, but at least he gave me something and not nothing. He could have told me to "You can all just kiss off into the air" in the words of the Violent Femmes). The red card discount also helped. I left at least 50 behind in a bin and have a feeling they will be there for a long time and lonely for a home. If some party guests do not show, I will be able to keep some and display all three builds. Seeing the positive. Being older, I do not get the concept of party favors. It is like getting a bonus for coming to a party and it expected these days. I am more like Lord/President Business, "Well, guess what? Nobody ever told me I was special. I never got a trophy just for showing up. I'm not some special little snowflake." I really need to take a nap...

  25. They should have ditched the Salesforce tower (ugly as hell and it's not recognizable) and included Lombard (crooked) street. The Sentinel building would have also made for a nice little micro build.

  26. Oh yeah...I tend to be obsessive so I think I went through the whole gambit of milestones for the "typical Lego enthusiast" within a couple of months..already went thru the "Lamenting EBay Phase", "hide from Wife problem", "Storage of Lego boxes problem"..."realization that I have backlog of sets (for the Boy to build) for the next 3 years"...not even touching on the economics of Legos which is a lesson I continue to learn

  27. For everyone in UK and maybe broader Europe, please be on the lookout for set #40222 offered in large quantities below market value. Reposted from Brickset: Clearly, whoever has taken them will be looking to offload them somewhere so if you are offered any, or see them on eBay, local classified ads, Gumtree, Facebook, or wherever, take screenshots or photos and contact your local police via 101 quoting 13170537540. Not only have the sets been taken but the charity's delivery van has been put out of action too, thus denying even more children a little happiness over the festive period.
