Sorry. I take responsibility. Let's get this thread back on track... Tabby, can you please sprinkle more cat sh*t with your weekly reminder these will all be stacked a mile high across every global retailer by next week?5 points

Hard to compare with the brickheadz. If we are to believe what has been said about those, they were a one off mistake intended for ComicCon and inturn given over to retailers for what is assumed to be a bidding war for rights. It appears Target and WM won the rights and also ability to price differently. WM sold out in hours, Target in 8. WM had no purchase limits but an increased price of 14.99. Target charged normal 9.99 but required a Redcard to purchase and placed limit of 2, however able to put in multiple/unlimited orders. The Target method of retail caused a bottle neck. With that being said and having the target badge printed on the box, target has complete control over how they reach the consumer once aquired. Dont sleep on target to learn from the brickheadz event and try to milk the cow longer. My guess is 10K were produced. 5K went to CSWC, 5K went to target. Target got wise to the hoard and split the sale of their 5K in half and then timing their 2nd round to include any left overs from CSWC since they cant be sold at any other retailer, inventory mitigation. As for selling out in 1 hr vs 7hrs, could be any number of variables: hoard Caught Off guard, cc limits reached after 1st round, slightly more volume given the left overs from CSWC. Just spitballin here...4 points

In all honesty, I probably would tell my past self to steer away from this and use that time and energy in other places. Now I'm in deep and although I'm okay with that, it is A LOT of work. Think of all the time and effort to do the following: 1. Research nearly every Set 2. Research how much each set has sold for (mins/max's) 3. Research if the set has been made before, has a minifig been made before, is it a new minifig completely, etc... 4. Follow prices nearly daily, weekly, hourly 5. Be prepared to buy something with near zero research because of a sudden sale or glitch 6. All the storage space this takes up, boxes needed for shipping, dealing with anything shipping in general 7. If parting out, everything that goes into that. (WAY MORE TIME NEEDED than selling sets) 8. Beating your competition. We talk on here but we are all competitors too. 9. Knowing that even though you might have gotten a great deal, someone out there probably got a better one. 10. Buying is easy, Selling takes Time and a lot of Patience for many sets. 11. Bottom line, this is not a cakewalk by any means. Be ready for it and be ready to not see a return immediately.3 points

Yes, we had two winners in the UK over the past three years I believe. One on The Isle of Man which I sent to another address within mainland England and another in London. I always make it worthwhile to winners if there is an issue. Last year I gave a winner in Singapore $600.00 (US) to buy a Disney Castle when it would have cost almost half that in the US. I have sent money via Pay Pal numerous times if shipping was a major issue or hassle.3 points

I like how the two cheaper iterations of the Hoth base since the AoH base have the four shield generators instead of the three that was in the expensive set.2 points

Personally think it is more than that. Just off the first 2 weeks shipments if you times it by 100 stores it comes out to about 15k and both those shipments were 24s. All the early shop at homes have been 24 too. Then Legoland were all 24 even though their initial numbers aren't very high. Next shipment should give a better idea.1 point

These designs are impressive and quite massive. Holy cow. Who all designed these deserves an extra paycheck. Or Ninjagelion or maybe even Xenogo (old reference but had to try).1 point

The bust online has said "Sold Out" twice before. The app uses "out of stock" language at the same time. So I don't know that that really means anything other than, "This product is current unavailable." Probably depends on how much hidden stock, cancelled orders, or store returns they "find."1 point

I haven't read through everything. But if you can't sell on Amazon, you are already in a much tougher spot.1 point

A great question. I will ask Rallyup.com reps. I will get back to you.1 point

I'm not totally convinced this thing is actually "done". With the Brickheadz, it was up, and then done. These didn't have that same pattern. I'm not sure there is much history to go on.1 point

I have extended the LEGO raffle until May 19, 2019 at 11:59 PM. I have seen it in my business and other local businesses as of late that the "2019 Tax Season" is taking a toll on spending. I think people are getting hit hard with taxes this year and returns are less than in previous years. While I realize we do a lot of our ticket sales in the last week of the raffle, I think it would be prudent to extend the raffle a bit beyond tax season. I am hoping this will help donations. Thanks...Ed Mack1 point

Hello and welcome! I agree that the steamboat willie set is unique and may be a good seller in the future for investors. But, this set was just released and probably has another 2-3 years until retirement and then you would probably need to hold for another year or 2 before prices start to rise enough to make it a worthwhile investment. Waiting 3-5 years before you can even think about reselling is not a great way to invest in Lego in my opinion. And as you can pick up by reading virtually any thread on this board, no one here really buys sets at full price. This set will go on sale eventually, maybe next black Friday, maybe during a Barnes and Noble bogo 50% off sale, but there will definitely be opportunities to purchase it for less with less hold time. With that said, I did go ahead and buy one from the first release with the box numbering error just in case it turns valuable due to the error. If you really want to start out investing in Lego, wait for good sales to happen (for most sets a good sale is at least 40% off) or rare Limited Edition buying opportunities. And concentrate on sets that have been out at least a year or two as those will be closer to EOL (end of life) and your returns from selling will come much quicker. Exactly. That situation seems to be a unique one at a single store that put them on clearance and kept re-stocking them at the 50% off price. I can't remember who the member was that posted about it, but maybe they will chime in. Definately arm-sweep worthy every time they re-stock. The best I've been able to do on this set is the random Barnes & Noble sale where architecture sets are not excluded and also using CC rewards at Amazon. It seems that just about every Target store is carrying architecture sets now, so these eventually will hit their clearance cycle, but I wouldn't expect them to last beyond the initial 30% to be honest. The other concern is that each store only seems to have 2-3 of these on the shelf, so if you are looking to stock pile these then other creative (and legal) ways to create discounts will be needed. It's a beautiful set, and based off the performance of The White House and Lincoln Memorial, it should do very, very well. I wonder if Lego has future plans for The Jefferson Memorial and/or Washington Monument to complete the Washington DC architecture sub-theme?1 point
