This is a follow up to the £100 haul I showed in the 'what set did you buy today' thread (picture below). I've sold most of it, including all the sets with a value of £50 or above. Overall, this has done extremely well. I've made over £1500 in sales. Taking into account the initial cost, shipping, Bricklink costs and fuel, I've made over £1200 profit. I even still have probably at least £200 worth of sets I haven't sold yet (e.g., 4181, 4182, 7965, 4737). This has been a great project, and I can only hope to be so lucky as to get another find half as good as this in the future! EDIT: Whoops, just realised I forgot about Paypal fees. That's probably about £60. I'll make more than that back with the rest!9 points

Well this was fun. Went to local B&N tonight and asked if they would stack HP 4-pack with the BOGO, and they agreed. But warned they wouldn’t accept a return without the 4-pack haha. So I grab (2) London’s, (1) Arc De Triomphe, and (1) Vegas ... all at $39.99 Rep rings the 4 up and sure enough once he scans HP figure it replaced one the sets, but he noticed and called a manager over to fix it. Idk what this manager did, but price dropped back down and I paid and headed home. Checked my receipt later and they messed up and gave me 3 of the 4 at 50% off [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app6 points

I beg to differ! I’ve sold some sets in person to timmy’s Mom. You’d be surprised how many parents don’t think twice about dropping hundreds on what Timmy wants! Silly but true and sorry I’m sure this discussion doesn’t belong In daily deals ?5 points

This is reminding me of Orthanc from a few years ago. Kept popping in & out of stock near the end, seemingly enough to increase the hoard to the point that it never substantially appreciated. Maybe this will be different, other than the price point they are completely different sets, but I ain't biting.2 points

My $600 MF from Walmart has just arrived ... !! They cancelled all my previous orders and this got shipped .. I forgive you Walmart....2 points

for any people in reach of one of the 6 LEGO Pop Up stores , 20% off a large amount of sets. They didn't get restocks on most retiring but most do have Porsche, Joker Manor, GBHQ all at 20 off. Worth checking out. Lot of Bhz sales and seaonsal stuff. Pretty much all non current Exclusives are 20 off and most regular sets as well. Cheaper for them to sell at 20 off then ship back or to other stores like they originally intended. Still get your points and some lingering promotional stuff around. Technically no limits on sets in those either so probably find some more motivation to move sets if you are in the market.2 points

Best: 21125 Jungle Tree House - 18 sold @ $140 eBay avg buy-in was $34 Worst: 41182 Capture of Sophie Jones - 0 sold and took down listing 2x top line sales compared to 2017. Net margin after fees/shipping/supplies was 170.12% - a 28% increase compared to previous year. Some fun data: averaged 3 min 39 seconds per package. This was printing/cutting shipping slip, retrieving set from stash, identifying right size box, and packing everything up.. Last year I used proceeds towards new master closet buildout, conversion to salt water pool, wife's $1800 gym membership, and all Xmas gifts. This year proceeds will pay for 4 RT tix & beachfront house in Turks & Caicos, kids play room makeover with big screen TV, Nintendo Switch, couches/gaming chairs, 7' air hockey table & other toys. Hoping 2019 will be enough for 1 bed/1 bath home addition. Really not up to me. It's all in the hands of the Farm Cottages now.2 points

All that message meant is that they don't have supply of the Minnie BHz. It would be nice to see some LM2 BHz released along with rounding out some of the Disney Princesses for my girls. I think as a theme in general, it will be one that just sticks around and randomly produces short run licensed sets...like a sub-theme. As long as Lego as a license that is available, I can see them using it for a BHz model to increase the main theme portfolio. They really are just XXL Minifigures2 points

go ahead and buy it losers - this thing will make it to 50% off easily on12/26. its comical how many of these are still at like every store. i'm also expecting to harvest greatly all the poorly placed elves technic and architecture stock that is tucked in the back corner of the books and collectibles sections at target where nobody goes to find lego.2 points

I dont think so ... TH just poofed out of no where, and so many folks were hating on it that it was relatively less hoarded than the others .2 points

This may be a somewhat simplistic view on things, but I think GE was the first modular people started buying after the last big wave of "LEGO is better than gold" articles and such. I think it was a bit overhoarded - and since then, modulars and the big sets have performed weaker than the ones prior. Brick Bank, if nothing else - seems to at least be less hoarded. Also, GE was out for apx 4.5 years as opposed to 2.5 for the BB. This all may mean absolutely nothing, but if you're looking for reasons to be optimistic. :shrug:2 points

My hesitation on this set stems from the mountains of them still sitting on shelves. The Targets around me are using these sets as shelf fillers to fill in the gaps....2 points

Star Wars Sandspeeder 75204 44% off at Target after $20.99 sale price, 20% cartwheel offer, and red card. Target exclusive. Modeled after a toy that Kenner designed but never made back in the day. Desirable mini fig helmets as well.2 points

My UCS MF shipped from Wal-Mart & should be arriving today. Meaning I've got a matter of hours to figure out what I'm going to say to my wife.2 points

While the activity might be similar, there was never any love for the LOTR sets, but I agree with your theory. The more it pops in and out, the more will be bought by resellers and not regular buyers, which will just water down the market.1 point

My MF shipped with Walmart for in-store pickup. Been delayed twice already. Last tracking information was two days ago saying "on truck for delivery." Not a huge deal, but I'm starting to get annoyed because I just want the dang thing already.1 point

Hi All!! Man - am I happy to find this website! I've joined recently and have gone 'all in' and appreciate the community. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. My son(almost 4) and daughter (2) are super into Lego Duplos. Our recent trip to Lego Land made them more into it. Recently constructed our first 'City Bus' together and my son just LOVES everythign about it. As a kid, I got hand-me down legos from others, and loved it. Want to be able to really let my son enjoy it - and secretly...sneak in some sets as well!1 point

Currently out of stock, but Amazon are advertising 4867 Hogwarts for £49.99!!! I don't know if they've just found a pallet of them (after 6 years) but I've just ordered one out of curiosity.... it might be worth a punt!1 point

I only now realize that Lord Business is now a golfer. Edit, also, what happened to Benny's arm?!?!? No other set has him like this... 70834 has him like this. Something must happen in the movie.1 point

There are at least 12 scheduled for release in 2019. #78 & #79 are Homer and Krusty. #80, the first unreleased set, is Dragon Dance Guy. #92 is the Birthday Clown.1 point

You're seeing the Unicode character values instead of the actual Unicode characters. Might have been an out-of-memory issue in your browser. I have something similar - when the Paypal label print dialog shows up and I print from there, the label will print out fine. But if for some reason I need to reprint from the same screen, the second printout has a weird font (all sorts of kerning and spacing issues) and I don't trust the barcodes. In those cases I have to download the label and open it outside of my browser in a PDF viewer to get a good print. Annoying but doesn't happen that often (typically the first print works out fine). Likely a Linux issue.1 point

Well, she was helping me out, I had a migraine from my neck being out and could barely think straight but a sale went thru. So she was nice enough to go down to bring my laptop back up. I paid for shipping and she connected it to the printer (old school, no wifi printing for us haha). She's a problem solver so after it didn't work she went right to, "Hmm, let's try it again to see if it's the computer or the printer." Ultimately, we don't know what it was. I was using Mozilla Firefox like usual for web browser. Seems like a one-off fluke. Close the tab, reopened it from eBay, worked fine. The funny thing was what was shown on screen was fine, what came out the printer was bunk. Strange...1 point

Never been burned on one picking up. If you want to protect yourself and payment has already been made just mail them the receipt and upload the tracking (if it's substantial enough that you are worried about it). Also will protect your on time score.1 point

It always boggles my mind the prices some people will pay for a $130 RRP set. My guess is late 20s/30s AFOLs getting back into the hobby (similar to myself from a year ago) and realizing how much cool stuff they missed out on the past 15 years. No way is Little Timmy's mom gonna pony up $430 for that.1 point

ive made a killing on City, Castle, Ninjago, Jurassic World and Lone Ranger this Christmas. SW is really bad, I concur, however I have sold 6-7 year old sets pretty easily this year like Bounty Hunter 7930, General Grevious 8095, T60 Shuttle, and SW Rebels minus the Tie Advanced Awing set.1 point

I'm still a rookie...but i learned (the hard way) that Chima, Nexo, Angry Birds, Super Heroes (which I still don't get why it doesn't perform) are just not worth it. SW this year is getting pretty close to that list (stupid AOH). Shockingly, I've done better with Friends PopStar line than SW. But I appreciate all of you for teaching me! Happy Holidays everyone! Next up Unikitty!1 point

I'm hesitant too, but they've never been this low. When they hit clearance this spring, will they last past 30%? 50%? It's hard to say. At $16.xx out the door it's a low risk gamble.1 point

just a friendly reminder for everyone to go through and reset the prices on any of your ASIN that have sold out to a healthy higher amount. last thing you want to be is an accidental undercutter/lowballer when an item you sold a month ago is returned and you miss out on the additional price appreciation that may have occurred since your intital sale and your stock becomes available and your old low price suddenly goes active. or just be that seller who is inexplicably selling an item for 25% less than everyone else for a few hours .1 point

Of all the fees, the October storage fees are the worst. For those of us with large businesses and no employees, we need to load in our stock in Sept/Oct to sell in November and December. There aren't enough hours in the day to wait until November to send it all in, not to mention all the new opportunities that start popping up in November.1 point

Some of you folks already know and if don’t then here’s a reminder. Avoid all this cancelled orders mess and back orders **** and buy these sets early when appropriate. Sometimes saving a few bucks ain’t worth the hassle. [emoji106][emoji16]1 point

2018 is for me the year of my farewell to KMart. They will not survive long into 2019 (next court hearing is tomorrow, but unlikely Chapter 7 will be announced there and then, rather likely they will continue on with bids and wrap things up end January). Some KMart highlights of 2018: - I perfected my "Free LEGO" strategy, developed in 2017, and got an average discount of 85% across my LEGO purchases from them. - Even without using points, I found some great deals at KMart - $2 Constractibles, $5 Ninjago Vermillion Raider and Destiny's Shadows for example. - Most of what I picked up was already retired, or very advanced in "the dance", which meant I could flip my purchases almost instantly. - The points back went crazy for a while ($50 back on $50, $75 back on $75, $300 back on $300). - SYW Sweeps was a money-printing machine for a while - $2-$4 per day, $20-$40 per week including bonus winnings. Unfortunately, it's all drying up now. Sweeps pay out very little ($0.10-$0.25 per day), cashback offers have dried up, and store inventory is not being replenished. Adios KMart!1 point
