Cool set but I'm disappointed they didn't use a shield for the face.5 points

This is my hometown and I'm excited to hear about this. I don't have any other architecture sets but will have to buy one of these. Thoughts: Ugh, I can't believe they included the new ugly Salesforce Tower. The dang building is such an eyesore to the existing skyline. Coit Tower looks a bit phallic. I like that they included the Painted Ladies. Alcatraz looks amazing. As another member mentioned before, the Sentinel Building would've been a nice inclusion. The old Bank of America Building at 555 California is a nice addition. It's not as well known as other landmarks here in SF, but the locals know it. The Ferry Building with its clock would've been nice to have. I think it would've been pretty easy to incorporate into the narrow build. Here's a picture from my office this morning. Our signature overcast weather with a view of the old Bank of America and Transamerica buildings.4 points

Maybe it's declined or the vehicles and characters LEGO has to design sets off of has declined.3 points

... and just like that, Angry Birds Castle comes back into stock at Target. Redcell must have gone deep into those, ?3 points

I can't imagine going to a mall a week before Christmas, fighting some crazy grandma for a parking spot, and waiting in a long line to spend $75 to get a free box of rejects But I have most of those minifigs in stock, except for Deejay (due to principle) so I am biased3 points

They're just saving you from making a big mistake by investing in Nexo ....3 points

To me, just look at the set itself. The Brick Bank is a nice looking build. It is also a bank, which every town needs. People always assume early retirement is about sales. Sometimes it’s about cost of producing a set vs. the return of selling it. I think the Town Hall was an expensive set to produce for LEGO. Maybe the Brick Bank is a similar situation. Decent sales, but it didn’t make LEGO enough money to keep around.3 points

With all due respect...and I mean that...The best years of LEGO investing and reselling were right in the middle of the last "great" recession. Do we have to go over all of this again? LOL2 points

Actual packaging excellence: my Mack Anthem from IWOOT arrived in a properly sized box, wrapped in bubble wrap, with a light sprinkling of air pillows, just enough to cushion, not enough to crush. Top job!2 points

What on earth quantities are you guys ordering? I have been going with small bursts. 6 in one order, 9 in next, etc mixing up different SKUs in each order a few times a day. I managed to dodge the Wally and Target hammers using this method, or at least I've convinced myself it's working. They may just view me as a weirdo LEGO guy who likes to set up large scale battles between Steve and Rapunzel with one side set in Paris and London and the other on a farm just outside Chicago. EDIT: Okay, so $25K over 8 orders. A little less sneaky than 6 per order.2 points

With two skylines coming out in January, it seems like time to start the official thread for the upcoming San Francisco set. I'm pleased to share the first review of the set, from my Brick Architect website. LINK: http://brickarchitect.com/2018/review-21043-lego-san-francisco-skyline/ The relevant details for the BrickPicker audience is that it is a very attractive set once built, and I believe it will be of interest both to collectors and people who have a fondness for San Francisco. I suspect resale will be good when discontinued, especially since the San Francisco Bay Area is packed with wealthy tech employees, and it would make a great gift. I'd love to hear your impressions of the new set! ---tom2 points

This is not a set to hold for years. Another fire station is always around the corner. Make money now and reinvest.2 points

One of the best (and most disturbing) movie scenes of all time IMO. Classic.2 points

Just in disguise. I like this set, but I liked the Sea Cow too and that thing went no where.2 points

Needs something... I know, Lord Dark Helmet descending from her nose and three apes on horse back. I do like the set though.2 points

I bought a bunch strictly on your word. Also the look of the set didn't hurt. Thanks!1 point

You have to be patient. It wasn't a big seller because many people already had the original UCS, thus the early retirement. But if it's not selling now, maybe it will not be a great flip in the future. That being said, I doubt there will be another UCS Snowspeeder for a long time...if ever.1 point

Yeah, I noticed the advert disappeared. I constantly checked, could not get it to work.1 point

Not LEGO related, but I think Amazon's acronym should become a BP acronym too:1 point

My local ASDA had a few Brickheadz for £6.97. All of the ones left over were bashed so YMMV.1 point

https://shop.lego.com/en-US/Move-Hub-88006 I'm intrigued by the new Power Functions Move Hub. It's pricey at $79.99 USD but the creative opportunities it opens are great in my opinion. Two integrated motors, tilt sensors, two inputs/outputs... That'll be a huge improvement to the method of javing two independent motors on 42065 Technic RC Tracked Racer this year which was a really fun build.1 point
