  1. Not essentially today but finally after months of planning, ordering multiple times from brick-link, buying from PaB walls in store, redesigning, restructuring, testing, balancing, rebuilding, destroying by accident... I was finally able to finish my extremely frustrating but fantastic project of mounting this extremely fragile but adorable baby on the wall. 75192 is mounted on a solid TV-Mount (plate) attached to the wall with custom extended 4 point weight distribution bolts to keep it well balanced across the mid-structure without putting to much pressure on single section of the chassis. With some extra changes to the weight and centre-balance I was able to give it little more angular aspect to get more "air" on the bottom. Clearance on the top to the wall is about 1.5cm and bottom 6.5cm. That clearance on top and bottom gave me a little more leeway in designing the schematics for lighting kit. After testing with number of different lighting setups I came up with this as a final design. I wanted to give it on the bottom an extra push of light for obvious reasons :) Lighting is fully programmable with already programmed by me ignition sequence - flashing white lights -> red quick ignition pulse -> blue light -> blue light fading in/out. whole thing is remote controlled. reference: https://youtu.be/jPEYpryMp2s?t=75 + custom made sockets (under bottom engine outlets on left and right) for 2x 10 000 mAh Powerbanks to juice the lighting kit because from very beginning I wanted to avoid the cable management situation and keep it as clean as possible. And here it is.. I'm proud but exhausted and tired with whole thing... hope you gonna like it
  2. After about my 16th order it stopped working... so not sure what happened! Orders are confirmed and a handful waiting to be picked up already and the others on the 15th....
  3. I bought a Haunted House 10228 on ebay for $150 with free shipping. I actually bought it in late April but received it recently. It was an open box sealed bags and it was all as described. Once a while, I take a chance on a too good to be true item on ebay. I am just glad this one worked. It was sent wrapped in brown crafting paper so the box was damaged but no complaints from me.
  4. Due to the amount of space my Star Wars UCS sets were taking up, I took the decision that having a modular town would not be possible. Hence, started to sell off my modulars. Sold this little gem for £650. Buy in was £450 about 18 months ago, so cleared £170 after fees.

  6. Bought a sealed but in a bad condition 10224 - 250 Euro...
  7. @Shewie - great set-up! You need to post a video, so we can see it beyond the 2-D picture. Plus I'd like to see the lighting sequence.

  9. Love the final result but man was the build frustrating. By far the worst instructions I've had to work with and I've built a lot of classic sets. Cleaning baked in dust and sorting 500+ black pieces added to the frustration (I actually don't mind refurbing classic sets but this one again was more difficult than usual). I added the railing in the back of the "message intercept" section. Anyway, I really dig the abstract nature of classic space base sets. Not all are good but this one and a few of others are kind of beautiful to look at.
  10. A good looking little promo. Should pair well with the already released VIP promo polybag. Will fit nicely into a city. Pick a brick wall looks nicely done. Since it's not an expensive UCS set, we can assume that these are all printed tiles and not stickers. Any guesses on what the spending threshold will be on this one? I'm thinking $125
  11. Now that you say that, the Porg does look like Jake the Dog. (I don’t watch the show, so...)

  13. I've been following this topic since a while and thought about registering today to say you how much I appreciate your effort! I'm already a Eurobricks member and have been running a similar thread over there and this topic definitely helped me to find modulars! Thanks so much! ?
  14. I had to submit a new build to the app store that included new certificates. Hopefully they will approve it quickly
  15. Not sure if this is the right place to post, however I am not sure if there is a glitch or something I have been able to place multiple orders (10 so far) on LEGO items sold by either Sears or Kmart and using SYWR of 10.00 off on each order I placed separately... not sure if that’s normal or not it’s my first shopping sears.com & Kmart.com..... here is an example, so far I am up 15 orders... let me know if this Normal or am I fooling myself lol....

  30. Thanks for all the kind words everyone, I appreciate it. I am working with our insurance provider, but that is painfully slow. The biggest effect on us right now is the daily loss of income. Since the break in we've installed a camera system and decided (like many of you mentioned) no more visitors or pickups at the warehouse. The sad truth is this is someone from Craigslist or Brick Link (or someone they know), there were only 8 people who came here and saw what we had on the shelves. It's hard to walk the line between keeping it all a secret and sharing with other AFOLS, but in the end it bit us hard. Strange discovery we made: they stole (3) cases of bubble mailers and enough wooden shelf supports to fill a small storage unit or basement (we had just brought these back from one of our retail stores the night before). Maybe this means the thief is planning on setting up shop somewhere and take their time going thru everything. Also missing? About 70 lbs of bulk unsorted LEGO. We started out sorting Goodwill auction lots and Craigslist bulk buys and transitioned to breaking down new sets. Too much work sorting and listing for us, again that suggests to us they are setting up a shop (or have a lot of personal MOC projects they want to feed).

  34. For anyone following, this topic was originally the "How to build a modular house" with a very nicely detailed walkthrough I had found over at Eurobricks to share here because I felt it was a fantastic resource in aiding anyone who ever wanted to make their own. Well I was thinking lately and the short of it, I wanted to help bring some better usage for this thread therefore I modified it a tad allowing the inclusion of displaying all the different sorts of custom modular house projects one may find across the net in the same manner how the MOC Highlights topic is for all general designs and MOC Alternates is for alternate builds. That way you had a basic guide to start with well as a number of projects to help give some inspiration hence the title change. (You may have noticed the MOC Highlights topic has shrunk a little which is because I moved any modular house design from over there to here.) Please feel free to post anything fitting within the Cafe Corner standard (32x32), Market Street standard (16x32), or even the 'spite house' standard (8x32). You can still find the How To guide in the main post to peruse. To help kick off the update, here is a double whammy with two stables of delectable desserts in a Krispy Kreme beside a Baskin Robbins. >Baskin Robbins and Krispy Kreme by tehLEGOman
  35. Here is a nice medieval themed modular build. Yep, I'm back on the modular horse again. Then again, when did I ever get off? http://www.flickr.com/photos/25309284@N02/sets/72157627867696261/
