  3. Stopped by a WM and was excited I found a box of minifigs. But it looked like someone had already gone through smushing them all. Had no hope for a policeman. With the help of the Brothers Brick feel guide I found one of each in less than 10 minutes! Lo and behold, the last one I tried was...the policeman! [happy dance]

  9. This is what the UCS reveals have come to, praising the graphic designers and not the set designers; and that's the reason why they are losing money.

  14. What a fantastic building experience, and a great price! I just finished writing a review based on my first impressions of 41597 - Go Brick Me, which was just released on Sunday. The set represents a great value at $29.99 USD for 708 pieces. While I've only scratched the surface of using this set as intended - to build custom Brickheadz of your friends and family, i'm happy to report that the selection of parts and instructions is a great place to get started. I also included a detailed look at some of the parts in this set, as it represents a great price for a parts pack, too. Seven parts available for the first time in new colors. We get a handful of existing parts in new colors, two new parts (glasses), and a large selection of parts in rare or relatively expensive colors such as 312—Dark Nougat (Medium Dark Flesh), and 106—Bright Orange (Orange). To see my review, analysis of the parts in this set, and first attempts at building my own Brickheadz, visit: http://brickarchitect.com/2018/review-41597-go-brick-me/ Sincerely, ---tom

  19. i agree with @superlegolover . don't sell sealed CMFs. just put a small slice with scissors to confirm the minifig and mention that when selling. better to be safe than sorry especially with 'chase' figs. however, series 10 mr gold was / is a whole other story...

  21. i don't get lego UCS sets anymore w/ the stickers and minifigs. the included minifigs fit in their vehicles sometimes but not always anymore. e.g. this y-wing, slave but not the snowspeeder, tie-fighter or x-wing.

  22. There was a time when the 9493 X- wing was selling close to what the UCS X wing was selling for. If 75172 get anywhere near $200, i'll be happy....but i'm not holding my breath.

  31. Walmart US has some of the JW sets listed on their site, the item pages don't seem to work on desktop browsers, but mobile browsers seem to work. Placed an order for the JP set. Wife is in the US so she'll pick it up for me I figured it would probably just be a bug and the listings went live early, but I've already had 1 order ship. I also got a $5 off $35+ purchase on the mobile app, no idea how, it just auto applied, maybe first time use or something.

  40. Great set. Small but doesn't feel so over priced after it's built. $5 per minifig, a lot of trans-colored pieces as well as tiles, licensing fees and you can see where the pricing comes from. Quorra feels a little left out without her Light Runner though. The Lego Store had quite a few this afternoon when I stopped by. The only other people I saw buying were AFOL types.

  44. Welcome to the Grid folks. The designers were in their early 20ties or so. Nice blokes tho. I had to wait in queue about 2h to get this set signed. Masses of people were hoarding like crazy. The old fishing store hasn't received such recognition like this set hands down. This might be an indicator for TLG in the future... Oh - it's my 1000 post here, anniversary time

  45. UPDATE! So I received a call from my insurance company the other day. The police arrested a guy for breaking & entering, and when they searched his property, they found "a lot of Lego sets". One detective was having lunch with my detective and casually mentioned the find, and he remembered my case from 2016 and they interrogated the suspect. He totally admitted meeting me on Craigslist, bought a few sets from me, and then came back to my warehouse to commit the robbery. He was able to back a cargo truck up to the loading door and spend several hours loading up. The replacement value at the time was $39k. I am so relieved they caught the guy, and now I'm waiting to hear from the police so I can go see what is left from the theft (they say there is A LOT). Next step will be to strike a deal with the insurance company to purchase everything back (at a salvage rate of course). They are willing to give me the right of refusal so I can recover all or some of it. I'll update once I see what is left and what we can work out. Just a reminder to everyone who can learn from my ignorance & innocence: never let anyone into the inner sanctum. Since the theft, we treat the warehouse like Willy Wonka's factory : no comes in, no one goes out. We even have a visual barrier separating the storeroom area from being seen by UPS and FedEx drivers. As far as Craigslist goes, I've only tried to sell a handful of larger items (new MF for example) with the stipulation that the transaction takes place at the local police department, and I haven't had a taker yet.

  46. Finished 10257 Carousel yesterday. Nice build and displays so wonderfully. Noted one issue though, the frog build was a little awkward because the legs would react accordingly. The frog would "jump" up but when going back down the legs would slide back the it wouldn't function right afterwards. I ended up having to put a little sticky tac under the feet to keep them in place and that did the trick. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this one.
