  6. If she really values someone with complete understanding of SW mythology, she should have asked Dave Filoni (co-creator of CW & Rebels) instead I can't agree with this more. D&D are good at extracting major components of EXISTING story, reorganizing and translating them to a different medium (TV). Once the source materials are depleted (in terms of quantity and quality, sorry GRRM), (huge) gaps appear in their final product (GoT). Whereas someone like Filoni took elements of the original mythology (SW) and weaved those into his original ideas (Rebels). This made the series feel and look like part of this grand universe while presenting his own fresh ideas and storylines.

  7. Various Argos shenanigans. 12 Battle Packs 7.99 each 90 Batman Series 2 93p each average 63 Series 17 48p average 7 Baseplates 1.99 16 Ninjago Movie City Chase 6.99 16 Ninjago Movie Piranha Attack 6.99 36 Spinjitzu training 1.99 27 Ninjago Movie maker (whatever that is) totally free! That's going to be a fun time at the fast track counter, assuming they don't cancel them. Eventually ran out of small stuff at my two locals. £1500 retail for just over £500.

  10. Technically they did trusted Filoni with more as he was promoted to head of animation development or something of that sort. His weakness is he does not have experience directing outside animation. But they could/should have given him chance to produce and write a live action movie or two. As far as D&D, you are right. There is a big catalog of legacy stuffs for them to translate to big screen. They would be great at making a movie trilogy based on the old KotOR 1&2 PC games + comic, for example

  17. ;0 - giant stone hitting the pond and waves spreading out. domino effect. margin buying (buying stock with a credit card) is now causing people to have to sell to cover their margin calls. that begets more selling which breaches more margins etc. throw on top of that vicious cycle collapse of inverse volatility etn's used as a hedging tool by larger financial institutions which are like a giant black hole of money , the waves could be pretty big. doesn't matter if you have a 20 year horizon but if you are retiring soon, could be uglish. or this is just the latest mother of all buy on the dips. meantime main street economy is doing better, at least from my perspective i'm having more sales fba in january and feb 2018 than i did FBM Jan - June 2017. jobless rate is reportedly lower though i have no factual knowledge of wtf is really going on. #fakeeverything

  18. Another bad day on the stock market. I foresee people looking to put their money into the safe haven of LEGO bricks.

  19. Not a complaint this time. I ordered 5 ugly Geoffrey sets (40228) from TRU a few days ago when they were $3.59 each. They shipped an original, untouched carton.

  20. Thanks...It was cool. I'll have to talk to Jeff. Maybe I'll get my son to do a video busting up LEGO sets and yelling about buying tickets. The last day to buy tickets will be my 50th Birthday, so maybe I will have a huge party and film it live. (Hint: There will be no party. I am not looking forward to turning 50...)

  22. It's not really that bad though. Dutch RRP is €169,99. That's including 21% BTW (VAT). The US RRP is $159.99 excluding sales tax. So to compare apples with apples, we should deduct BTW from the Dutch price and then convert it to US$. Dutch RRP excluding VAT is €140.49. According to Google €140.49 = US$ 171.97. So the Dutch price of $ 171.97 is higher than the US price of $ 159.99 but the difference is not that dramatic. We are terribly lucky though that the RRP of Destiny's Bounty is set significantly lower in the UK, so we can get it through Amazon UK much cheaper than at home.

  23. Anybody in doubt should get it. It's a fantastic set, and £199.99 for nearly 5000 pieces is a great price.

  25. Was tempted to do similar but just don't have enough faith in those Ninjago sets. City Chase seems the best, though, based on contents. I picked up Ninjago sets for me and also a few battle packs and batman minifigs, as well as baseplates and some Cars sets.

  31. I don't know what LEGO is doing with the special black card. I was banned from Shop at Home over a year ago and I'm not entirely sure why, but I won't go into those details here. Regardless I still get e-mails about promotions and catalogs in the mail asking me to buy stuff I can't. My VIP account and points still work in store only. I never ordered the UCS Falcon and I've only purchased sets from my local LEGO store about 3 times in the past year. Having said that I received the black card in the mail this week and I have no idea why.

  32. Edit: as a consolation, when scanned it looks like all LEGO is 10% off, at least in my store.

  41. Finished this up last week - hands down one of favorite sets, both in terms of the building process as well as the final result. If you are on the fence at all, I highly recommend it! It would be nice if LEGO put out a descent small sail boat to go with this - I have some of the recent Fishing Boats stored away, but somehow one of those just doesn't seem to do this set justice...

  42. Built the Dragster Transporter set and it was bought for its versatility. So glad I bought a few for investment too. This set seems to be a winner and we are using it as more a heavy cargo transport. We have that one also. ?

  46. Yes, I expect 8-10 D2C´s so there should be a couple more Creator ones at lower price points and maybe another large landmark? If we escape with only one rehash, we are doing well too.
