Let´s face it, if all valued customers were the sharpest knives in the set, we´d be struggling to sell anything. We rely a lot on misinformed, rich, lazy, capricious or high/drunk people to do business.3 points

Looking at the price I would say Lego doesn't want many sales. Shame as i wanted this, would look great after several modifications to the ship.2 points

Bottle looks fantastic. Ship not so much. The original ship was so much better. If the ship had looked like the original, I would have bought it for sure. Now......maybe for 50% off.2 points

Fellow Brits I think he's giving us some stick! Apparently occasional discounts on Lego is all that good about us!! as for discounts. The US gets the best, whole themes for 50% off or more. Those guys are filling their cars as we speak. Over in the Uk yes we get the occoasionK good deal but they are often limited to a few sets and only at a handful of stores. I got lucky this time, but most deal chases are a bust.2 points

My backordered Winter Holiday Train arrived and the shipping box included this "collect them all" sticker. Normally, I'd just give something like this away, but if there's some mystery or bigger game to it, I'd hold onto it. It seems silly in its simplicity and plainness to make 4 generic brick stickers a worthy marketing campaign. Oh wait, maybe if you collect all 4, you get banned. I see what's going on now.2 points

**SoCal Red Alert** The Geoffrey's Bargain Box TRU clearance outlet on La Palma in Buena Park marked the whole store down 50% this morning. They have a fairly large amount of Lego but set selection is limited. My friend got there first and arm swept the Technic (bucket excavators $115), the Caterham 7's ($30) and some others. I picked up some good part out sets (Ninjago, Nexo, Friends). Plenty left for the horde to scavenge.1 point

I think Tabby has enough anecdotes to write a book about Lego investing. Probably include a free Doctor Who with each copy sold too.1 point

You sure you're not just ordering extra shiz when you've had a few too many shandys? This is not the first, second or third time you've told us of sellers sending you extra significant sets. You must be a very lucky guy1 point

Only ordered one Kwik-E-Mart from Smyth's but the packaging was the best I've had. Oversized box with many, many air cushions.1 point

not necessarily a deal but thought it was interested. A little too expensive for my blood...but only 43 left1 point

Desk display potential is key here. I think the original would just have been too large for what it "is" and Lego probably couldn't meet the price point they wanted. Unfortunate they had to scale it down, but I don't see that if it was any larger that the demand would have been that uch greater for the extra $$ it would cost on both ends. Edit: I would be interested to see if the mini 6285 from the 60th set fits in this bottle.1 point

Apparently these stores have the BB8's still; Bromley By Bow, South Tottenham & Gallions Reach: https://www.tesco.com/direct/lego-star-wars-bb-8-75187/194-4301.prd?skuId=194-43011 point

The whole reason prices go so low at Tesco in store is the value of the shelf space. It's as simple as that and has very little of anything to do with Lego marketing. Once Christmas has passed Tesco need the extra space they allocated to toys back for other items like Valentines stuff & Easter Eggs1 point

Haha, no kidding. Someone wrote instructions that use the Tower Bridge to create a modular building. About to drop $20 on those...1 point

Was able to move all my 75101 First Order TIE Fighters over the course of a couple days this past weekend. Priced them to sell at $70 and they flew off the proverbial shelf. Buy-in was $30 during Barnes and Noble clearance last year. Locally sold a Smaug and Laketown set together for $200 as well. I'm happy to see the stock dwindling down, but I think my T1 Campers and Tower Bridges might get buried with me.1 point

Don't forget that the baby dragon in 41173 Elvendale School of Dragons was a repeat from 41077 Aira's Pegasus Sleigh (which isn't doing great either). So if demand would primarily originate from the inlusion of baby dragons the repeat would split the demand between two sets.1 point

Well, glad I took the opportunity when it was available to me. The offer got sold out at some point during the day, and only 3rd party offers are available now, at > €70. I helped getting the stock down.1 point

$299 zoo $29-$119 different enclosures Even easy to do hot dog stands, different animals in polybags, other vendors Zoo would do amazing. Every city would have a zoo area waiting for every new set. Collectors would demand to have EVERY animal/set1 point

Wow, I just about fell off my high horse when I checked what this set is going for on USAmazon. 265 USD FBA is amazing considering you can still find it discounted over here and it is barely breaking above RRP (SAH marked it down to 50% off).1 point

I bought them after Christmas for $30-40 and sold them on Amazon for $120-130 in less than a year. Seems like a winner to me1 point
-
So ... One year after official retirement, and two years after the last post about this set, what do people think about this set ? It hasn't reached original RRP yet, as far as I can see. At least on Bricklink. Not an instant winner, that's for sure.1 point

I really like the new dragons as well. Are you talking about this castle @Alpinemaps? I saw it at Target tonight. It's a really good looking set. As an added bonus, I feel like this set has a Maleficent's Castle sort of vibe to it. I think the recent Disney CMF would look great if Elves mini-dolls aren't your bag.1 point
