Went to Target last night and found an Assembly Square on the clearance shelf. The box which is really in good condition, has a sticker marked as a repackage and priced $196.01. It's kind of unusual, but not unheard of. What was more amazing was the other 3 Assembly Squares, 5 Assault on Hoth (75098), 7 Big Ben (10253), a few Snowspeeders (75144), a Technic Porsche 911 (42056), a Kwik-E-Mart, a couple of other large technic sets, and about 20 Silent Mary's (71042) on the shelves in the store. I was stunned, and amazed. And yes, I did take the "repackaged" Assembly Square.4 points

Yeah here’s what’s wrong with that. Obi-wan and Yoda went into hiding with a purpose and mission for fixing things. Luke became a whiny little beyatch with no plans for anything but expiring like old cheese. Lame4 points

So here's the thing that bothered me about Luke (in addition to the poor writing in general, poor characters and lame humor): Luke Skywalker, the guy who sensed the good in the second most evil man in the galaxy, who was a mass murderer and hunter of Jedi, and wanted to turn him back to the light side of the force, and might I add, succeded, gave up on his nephew, the son of his best friend and his sister, after he sensed a little darkness in him, and wanted to kill him instead of trying to guide him to the light side. We waited 35 years for this. It's not a problem that we turn our focus on the new characters and such, but it was done in a bizarre and insulting way.3 points

The dumbest expectation is the Death Star retiring so this can replace it.3 points

I am pretty sure most fans are not upset they tried something different. We don't like the movie because it is terribly written and it was a sequel to spaceballs.2 points

This set (and 60102) look to be the pick of the 2017 City retirement offering. Not many sellers and buy-in prices already at RRP+.1 point

Maybe the staffer at BWI2 who has been stealing your shipments is feeling guilty, and has secretly been covering up his tracks by recording every item as a sale in the backend? ;-)1 point

Probably online orders for store pickup that were never picked up. If not then returns with receipts.1 point

There are a lot of talented builders out there no doubt. The IDEAS theme has only scratched the surface. One of my favorite parts of this site is when The Orc King posts in this thread...1 point

I think his expectations are too high. I'm afraid LEGO will cheese out and not finish the set the way it needs to be...even at $500.00.1 point

That´s why Fast and Furious is so successful. They make the same movie a hundred times over and just change the actors one at a time. The one time they tried something different (Tokyo drift) it tanked.1 point

And even at Amazon, retired sets come back into stock too - sometimes months afterwards. I snagged a Mystery Machine a month back, for instance. February is a great month for that as many companies do their external auditor supervised inventories and "find" new stock.1 point

There could be some playing around with stock to drum up business, but some of it is just poor inventory management and second rate technology. LEGO is no Amazon.1 point

I think that you are misreading why Amazon put the gates in to begin with. Amazon doesn't care about where Lego sellers get their product...Amazon just wants to make sure that it is authentic and that people selling Lego on their platform aren't scammers who will erode confidence in their marketplace. The scam sellers not only hit Amazon's reputation, but they cost Amazon money due to returns. Amazon put the gate in as one way to ensure that anyone seeking to sell Lego on Amazon is a legit seller and isn't a scammer. However, Amazon is also smart enough to know that there is no sense in throwing the baby out with the bath water so they grandfathered sellers with established track records of selling Lego. They did that last year when the gates first went in, but then expanded on their "grandfathering" this year by allowing sellers who meet certain unknown metrics to get automatically ungated for a wide variety of gated products. At the end of the day, Amazon wants quality sellers on their platform and will allow quality sellers to sell almost any product that the brand manufacturer hasn't instituted strict brand controls over once they have a proven track record.1 point

local Tesco is going through some reconstruction in January so they are fire selling everything inc Lego for 50% off, someone posted a photo in our Lego FB group so I rushed in but every exclusive was gone (they had Porsche, TB, BigBen, Par. Restaurant, Detect Office or Bucketwheel of what I remember), so I grabbed last VW Beetle and some friends Grand Hotels, minecraft Fortresses, ninjago Dragon's Forges and bunch of Louvres and Buckinghams1 point

Well, I’ve been quite busy for the past 6 months or so…but I have been slowly piecing together and building a train terminal that I purchased the instructions from on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Station-PDF-instructions-MOC-Building-City-Modular-/152374747648?hash=item237a3e2200). I also did some modifications and customized it a little bit by adding a comic shop and a small convenience store (with stickers from Brick Builders Pro (http://www.brickbuilderspro.com/). It was quite the project and I just finished it, so I thought I would show some pictures to you all. I had some help sourcing some of the parts from my local Bricks and Minifigs store. There are around 12,000-13,000 parts to the building. Eventually I plan on adding a 60051 High Speed Passenger train or two and doing some more changes/modifications to it….but I am going to save that for a later date.1 point
