Your smugness is assumed by everyone to be at a constant high level. No need to remind us.3 points

Conspiracy theorists may want to take a look at the sets featured on the back of the box....3 points

Not 100 percent sure if this has been mentioned but the ship that everyone can't get enough off is now SOLD OUT on the uk lego site. First time I've seen this happens to it (retire please lol) maybe getting ahead of myself haha2 points

That boxer is one weird looking dude. Pretty sure he's getting in shape to go do some low budget porn. The set is a cool change to the series, though. I do like it.2 points

If I was a betting man, I'd say they are keeping this re-release for 2019 to coincide with SW Movie 9 (and I would not be surprised to see Starkiller Base II in SW 9 either )2 points

Hmmmm. I guess I didn’t read the email correctly. I thought Lego said my black VIP CARD was in the mail about a month ago. Apparently it must have said, “Congratulations on your $800+ purchase of a really cool box of molded plastic blocks and choking hazards!! As a reward we will be sending you and 10,000 other people a one of a kind, but completely non personalized and easily reproducible laminated piece of thin cardboard/ thick paper!!! We would like you to know how much we appreciate your love of Lego! This “special” VIP card, which can also easily be worn on a lanyard (not included) by poking a hole through the top, will make you and many others eligible for, yet to be determined, AMAZINGLY HO-HUM discounts and 15 minutes of early access to our “crashed servers” on occasional future sales!! This card, which you should have already received, is coming!!! We, at Lego, are thinking, very hard might I add, about potentially sending it possibly in the near to distant future; almost 50/50 to 73% chance one way or the other, maybe, but most definitely eventually. Thank you again for YOU, but mostly your money!!! Sincerely yours, Lego” For those still waiting just to buy the set, I apologize for my sarcasm.2 points

eBay has plenty of traffic and you can do substantial volume, the issue is in the self fulfillment aspect. It's just such a pain in the...neck and hands and elbows and shoulders and feet and back and..2 points

Sellers are weak. Everyone could raise these to $75 and they'd still sell quickly. Those folks on Amazon don't shop at LEGO.2 points

Do not underestimate the Christmas inflation. I see 50 shipped next year. Even with all this extra stock, in the grand scheme of things this is a very limited set with wide and timeless appeal.1 point

they will make good gifts this year for only $10 a pop... & just wait til SAH puts 'em to 7.99 or 4.99 discount to blow 'em out, then you will be crying & i will be buying....1 point

Balls, thought it was a generic discount and didn't think to click through. Thanks for checking.1 point

I hit Top Rated this month and have been listing everything to fit within the criteria for the discounted final value fees. I'm not sure the final value fees are worth it, but I definitely see value in having the TRS badge! My listings are the first search result and I list my items higher than most other sellers and have been selling significantly more than expected. I had no idea people bought based on seller rating or the first item to appear in a search result, but they certainly do. Now to ensure I keep this rating...1 point

The Battle in the Sanctum Sanctorum (76108) is a 99.99€ set. 76060 was a 35€ set, people picked up at 40/50% discount.1 point

Better not, otherwise they would need to layoff another 10% of their workforce due poor financial performance.1 point

Same here. Not huge in terms of actual £ profit, but in terms of profit margin, assuming a low buy-in, easy to hit 100% in less than a year and the good thing is that they are small, so easy to ship and costs are low. They shift easy since parents have less issue dropping less than £50 for a set for little Timmy, whereas the higher value sets will only be for Xmas and Birthdays. As others here have said, all about retail arbitrage and looking for those sets that will move quickly. the 'Buy, put in loft for 3 years after EOL and then sell for huge profits' model is now dead.1 point

They have probably made more models of T1 than the real thing. That is certainly true with Tower Bridge!1 point

I assume, even within the initial production run the AT will be alive until 2020...1 point

agreed, but this is assuming freebie can be flipped easily. Rebates 3%, double VIP 10%, it's close. 15% off means I don't have to list the freebie and hope someone buys, nor do I need to store up VIP points and force myself to spend it.1 point

Well, I’ve been quite busy for the past 6 months or so…but I have been slowly piecing together and building a train terminal that I purchased the instructions from on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Station-PDF-instructions-MOC-Building-City-Modular-/152374747648?hash=item237a3e2200). I also did some modifications and customized it a little bit by adding a comic shop and a small convenience store (with stickers from Brick Builders Pro (http://www.brickbuilderspro.com/). It was quite the project and I just finished it, so I thought I would show some pictures to you all. I had some help sourcing some of the parts from my local Bricks and Minifigs store. There are around 12,000-13,000 parts to the building. Eventually I plan on adding a 60051 High Speed Passenger train or two and doing some more changes/modifications to it….but I am going to save that for a later date.1 point

Keep it, but remember when you have to pay a little extra for shipping on something else, let it slide. The universe will balance everything out.1 point
