? I just wanted to wish all the BrickPicker members a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm sorry that I haven't been active lately on the site, but I am finishing up a major renovation of my business and I haven't had time to poop. I am thankful for a day off today! Anyway, enjoy your turkey and have a fun time shopping later on... Ed Mack3 points

Wow, finally a true designer video, not the infantile kindergarten commercial. It just took like 10 years, but who cares. I hope this format stays.2 points

that was risk of Ferrari on cyber monday at 30. With it being 20 off the other 3 days good chance they wouldn't have by then. 20 off and nutcracker is to good to pass up. If they are around at 30 on Monday buy more!2 points

If you can sell the freebie for $25 then it is a similar deal; however, I always consider the better deal the upfront cash price and not having to sell anything.2 points

True, but it will still have a better CAGR than the Beetle and an 8 year shorter shelf life....2 points

You have to sell the nutcracker to offset the cost, it's worth $0 until you do that. Not to mention the nutcracker sucks.2 points

Are you paying for the scheduled pickups? If so, I can't really see how they can complain. The logistics are their problem, not yours. In general, if you do around 15-20 boxes of that size, and tell them its ok to come at the end of the day after all the deliveries, it probably should be ok. I had some issues a few years back with time of pickups, but once I told them I didn't care if they came in the evening, it smoothed over. I've had pickups several days in a row without issue. I of course it's very YMMV depending on whom you are dealing with. I had the worst experience at a UPS store one time because the owner was a jerk.1 point

And how do you explain the fact, that it can be backordered since several days at S&H ???1 point

Just walked into B&N with $8k of gift cards to take advantage of their LEGO BOGO 50% offer but guess what, Architecture doesn't qualify for that offer & they showed me this paper. Do by this logic Star Wars & other licenced sets qualify for this promo. In the past I've only seen this promo where pretty much architecture qualifies. This seems so backwards.1 point

You answered your own question When the masses are saying a set is a "can't lose" they get hoarded by both members here, and tons of guests reading here attempting to make a quick buck. Those that get mentioned very little often have much less competition. Nothing I love more than a set going end of life that isn't talked about at all... good or bad. I also have made good money on sets that are panned by the masses like Palpatine's Arrest.1 point

I'm Thankful for the Macks, and you guys, this site, and the work you all do even on days like today. Thank you all, hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving/BF. Ordered probably too many of the Walmart LEGO set, but seems tough to go wrong. People talking about Atlas, my closest two TRU have several of these on the shelves.1 point

The $10 bag of Lego my wife bought about a month ago (picture 1 below) that contained an almost complete Star Wars 75048 The Phantom (missing the minfig only and 1 other piece) also had over 60% of the 75053The Ghost as well. Well, I decided to order the rest of The Ghost since I had most of the major pieces. All of the pieces are finally here from multiple BrickLink orders! Onto building next...1 point

Its only 330 pieces of which a third are probably pins... I think it’s the originality and bright colours that make it so appealing. Aside from the racing truck, the Technic team continues to impress with new and innovative ideas compared to the losers rehashing old sets (and adding more helicopters). They’re not all winners but they offer something new and different much more frequently than most of the other themes.1 point

Why is it getting to you? It's their "loss" if the set is a stud and their "win" if the set is a dud. Everyone has different finances or storage constraints. Sometimes the best lessons learnt are the ones that hit the wallet because of their actions. "Live and learn"1 point
