I confess that I didn't read the article. I'm too busy making YouTube videos about how one can make $10,000 a day selling crap online!3 points

So i thought my Target order had arrived, and I sold a few on Amazon vthis morning. Well when I opened the box, to my horror I found a different order had arrived. I jumped in the car to my local Lego store, and to my relief, there they were! )limit of 5. Whew!2 points

I listed it on amz at the lowest price $113 + $4.99 and it sold immediately. This thing is on fire.2 points

Know what you mean, I hated selling my At-At's and Star Destroyers for double my money last year after less than a year holding, hated it, really got my goat2 points

I feel the same way. Kudos to you who bought big. I simply couldn't take the risk, but the 3 I have in hand I listed this morning at 7:45 AM and by 9:45 they've all been bought and paid for at $60. I thought surely LEGO knew how many of RI v2.0 they needed to produce to cover the hype, based on Research Institute version 1. I completely forgot that this was TLG that we were talking about.2 points

I think you were just lucky. I typically win about 1 in every 10 bonus/1hr spins, and that hasn't changed. Regular spins seem to be paying out a little less for me the last few weeks (from $1.5-$2 per day to sub-$1 recently), but there have always been ups and downs. I am still baffled about the sense of it all - I'm currently at $3.5k in sets for $329 out-of-pocket, and that excludes all the free socks, t-shirts, towels and pajamas i"ve bought too, plus that 12A reciprocating saw I got for $21 with $17 back in points. Edit: and I didn't even include my Grand Emporium win in those numbers...2 points

Now through 11/19: Buy $75 in gift cards at Barnes and Noble, get a $10 gift card to use after December 26. Similar to last year's promotion. Nice way to get some free B&N money for later.2 points

I have a problem, I just bought 3 Phantoms, just to prove it worked. Must be brexit, no problem shipping to me in little old Ireland2 points

Because he got booted off Amazon? His bringing that kind of attention to R/A O/A is not a positive for those that are still able to sell.2 points

I'm thinking beyond just cereal. I could fry them up and serve them in an omelette. I'll have to decide on a recipe closer to the time, if they really perform that terribly.1 point

You´ll be in a similar situation to 7965. The best time to sell that one was in May as then rumours came of September 75105 and values plunged. Difference is the new one is out in May and the pics will come very soon. Plus there is a lot of stock hoarded. I don´t know how it will pan out but there is a risk.1 point

Well if they are lurking here , hopefully they can share some insight. I'm not asking for trade secrets just some anecdotes about getting started and maintaining their brick and mortar business which seems counter-intuitive these days.1 point

Some misc "thinning of the shelves" sales across different platforms. Really loving the Scooby sets so far. 1x Scooby Mystery Mansion for $150 on Craigslist (buy-in @40, Kmart clearance) Set of all 5 Scooby sets on Ebay for $359 ($11 to ship) (Buy-in at $95 over multiple Kmart clearances/purchases with points, etc.) 2x Hulk-Buster Smash for $43 each (shipping paid by buyer) via Bricklink (Buy-in at $15 each from Kmart) 1x Mirkwood Elf Army for $42 (shipping paid by buyer) on Bricklink (Buy is @16 Kmart Clearance) 2x Mirkwood Elf Army for $40 each (shipping paid by buyer) on Ebay (Buy in @16 Kmart Clearance)1 point

I was lucky and found a couple City Garbage Trucks for $2 each the other day. You never know, that happened to me in the past on some Ninjago stuff too.1 point

Kmart clearance deals can be exceptional even WITHOUT the use of points: found a 70745 Ninjago Anacondrai Crusher on the top shelf, didn't ring up on store scanner nor price-check at the register. Friendly lady took me to someone with a special inventory scanner, who said it was $2. Then, when I paid it turned out to be marked Clearance (which is 50% off right now) so got it for $1 before SYW shenanigans. Found more old sets, applied $5 off $35 coupon, which made my pre-points total $0.82. To top it all off, the register printed out a $5 on $5 Freecash coupon and a $5 off $25 toys coupon. Not too shabby.1 point

I´d rather not have the bus come back to Europe - ever. 20% off on sets will be good for last minute EOL snagging but our 2xVIP is too late for stuff to arrive for Xmas - seems more like a way to retire a few sets before having to reduce them.1 point

I'm not abusing you guys. I'm just stating that Lego doesn't owe you any profit or to cater to your need to make money. Lego is a toy first and foremost. I follow several different sites for different takes and news on stuff. It's nice to follow this for particular information I find useful, and one of that is not how much I can potentially gain on a set. You guys might need to check your feelings a bit if someone like me doesn't fully agree with everything on here. You guys live in your own little bubble world out here, and miss that there are more people who buy Lego to play and enjoy than purely as an investment vehicle. That's the thing too though, if you treat it like an investment, you are going to get burned. Simple as that. It's like that with anything you treat as an investment. You win some you lose some. I've had many things that I spent a lot of money on, to only have it be worthless and it burned me. It happens. I've also had things that were little gold mines for me as well. For me, when I buy a product, I buy it for my enjoyment, whether it be movies, video games, what have you. Some of my prized possessions aren't worth a dime. Money isn't the only factor in something that I will spend my money on. I don't care how special it is to other people, because it's special to me, and that's all that really matters in the end. I'm not trying to start a fight, I'm just saying, that the investors prospective isn't the only one, and Lego I'm sure figures they will gain more catering to their bigger market, the non-investors like me out here. Yes, I will agree that it potentially having some value will get people to collect things, but that's not even remotely always the case. Some people collect bottle caps, are those worth much? Nope, so why do they do it then? For the love of something. For people like me, it's the love of Lego, not the value. I buy Lego even expensive Lego, because I personally get the value out of it. Not in monetary fashion. Sure some people might stop buying Lego because of this, but it's a revolving door. For every person that stops buying Lego, they could be bringing in one or more people new to the hobby and buying Lego. You might see it as a lazy move, and that's fine, nothing wrong with your opinion, but I would personally be worried if every single set in a year was a complete re-release. They still put out lots of original new sets every year, so I just think this screaming from the mountain tops that Lego is going to go belly up for a couple of re-makes a year is a little over the top.1 point
