  1. I was lucky and found a couple City Garbage Trucks for $2 each the other day. You never know, that happened to me in the past on some Ninjago stuff too.
  2. Did they remake the mini London Bus too?
  3. sold 3x 41135 Friends Livi's pop star house for $140 each. this one seems to be rallying I repriced higher but i'm almost out of the livi game
  4. I was sure you photoshopped him in. haha
  5. Bought a few Women of Exo Suits.
  6. No they are English pounds but the pound will soon be on a 1:1 exchange rate with peanuts.
  7. Picked these up off Facebook Marketplace a couple weeks ago for $50 !!! All of the pieces were there plus a couple other smaller vehicle sets not pictured !! All in excellent condition =)
  8. Problem is when 999 sellers send in 99 each .. HOLD the damn LINE
  9. I totally read that as Colonel Sanders the first time.
  10. Kmart clearance deals can be exceptional even WITHOUT the use of points: found a 70745 Ninjago Anacondrai Crusher on the top shelf, didn't ring up on store scanner nor price-check at the register. Friendly lady took me to someone with a special inventory scanner, who said it was $2. Then, when I paid it turned out to be marked Clearance (which is 50% off right now) so got it for $1 before SYW shenanigans. Found more old sets, applied $5 off $35 coupon, which made my pre-points total $0.82. To top it all off, the register printed out a $5 on $5 Freecash coupon and a $5 off $25 toys coupon. Not too shabby.
  11. Gotta love it when the manager of the local TRU calls you and asks if you want all the leftovers from the BB-8 build....
  12. Check out “Awake”, 2nd TV spot [/url]
  13. I confess that I didn't read the article. I'm too busy making YouTube videos about how one can make $10,000 a day selling crap online!
  14. not sure if this might be foreshadowing
  15. How did you manage to get that many?!?

  17. Some misc "thinning of the shelves" sales across different platforms. Really loving the Scooby sets so far. 1x Scooby Mystery Mansion for $150 on Craigslist (buy-in @40, Kmart clearance) Set of all 5 Scooby sets on Ebay for $359 ($11 to ship) (Buy-in at $95 over multiple Kmart clearances/purchases with points, etc.) 2x Hulk-Buster Smash for $43 each (shipping paid by buyer) via Bricklink (Buy-in at $15 each from Kmart) 1x Mirkwood Elf Army for $42 (shipping paid by buyer) on Bricklink (Buy is @16 Kmart Clearance) 2x Mirkwood Elf Army for $40 each (shipping paid by buyer) on Ebay (Buy in @16 Kmart Clearance)
  18. 2 Ekimu the Mask Makers for $140. This one gets more sob stories about it being priced above retail than anything else I've listed. Eclipse Starfighter for $22, buy-in was $3. Sofia the First Castle for $85, buy-in was $25. 4 polybag bundles for $18 ea, buy-in was $7. Used Loki minifig from a bulk lot for $7. Used Holiday Truck, w/o minifig, from a bulk lot for $15 shipped.
  19. Now .... this thought has gotten me excited ... Emerald Knight-style Hogwarts Express ... full loco, couple of coaches. Heck, throw in a flying Ford Anglia if you must. Ready to be put on tracks, just supply your own PF. That would be SUCH a hit with both the HP crowd and the LEGO train community ....
  20. Imagine UCS quality versions of Hogwarts Castle and/or Hogwarts Express.
  21. I'm sitting this one out, too many red flags for me to feel confident. I have two and at least one will be a present. Good luck to everyone else!

@Max Profit Lego SW underwear on the DD board !!! ??
  23. I had heard that the Nexo replacement may be Harry Potter re-launch... that would make sense I think as it would be the new "castle/medieval" type theme
  24. Duplo+ for everyone!
  25. Buy through Rakuten using the GIVE10 code for $10 off of $40. Have to choose TRU as the seller, and a cheap filler to get to $40, but it worked for me! Total was around $33.
  26. Do make more re-releases please, but always in an improved way like you did with Falcon. UCS sets are simply great. I have them all but the older are not more up to date. And do NOT re-releases like TM...
  27. They want everyone to have a 'meh'ry Christmas.
  28. Lego 50%+ off clearance haul from KMart. These go with the polys posted above. I left plenty behind.
  29. I just had a $500 order placed from an employee of Legoland on Bricklink The shipping address is Legoland. They have 0 feedback. Am I being trolled?? I looked them up online and they do Lego Leagues.
  30. walmart just poofed. lowest amazon price $69. second lowest price - $99. let the inane reviews about the toy scalpers commence.
  31. Yes, by the customer service desk.
  32. I was thinking the same thing. There weren’t any in the Halloween section this year, but there are more polys around the store than usual.
  33. Apologize if I missed the memo, but were there no polybags in Target Halloween clearance this year?
  34. I'm sure there are many just like you. I have cut way back as well. I only buy what I really like or something that is discounted heavily. I have a feeling 2017 will be another year of decreasing profits for LEGO. The movies might skew things, but the brick business is nowhere as strong as it was. On another note...My son would rather build virtual reality bricks on Minecraft than in LEGO bricks. This does not bode well for LEGO in my opinion. A $50 video game basically replicates the way more expensive LEGO bricks. Maybe LEGO will primarily be a toy for adults who had an emotional connection decades ago.
  35. I don’t have any and think this is a horrible decision.

I personally think TLG made a crap load of these after seeing @TabbyBoy was back in the game.
  37. Funnily enough I think vintage space sets (and some misc other vintage themes) are some of the safest bets to not be remade (other than, say, one iconic set to cash in on nostalgia). What I think is more likely are sets designed to hit our nostalgia cores, like benny's spaceship (didn't fall for it, I got my originals!). Nexo Knights also notably had some nostalgic looking vehicles (wow this looks like sets from when I was a kid! *buys for kids but builds himself*) All this isn't aimed at you vincevaughn! It just got me on a rambling topic. Many old lego sets go directly against their current mantra; nowadays sets part boost with many small pieces (the cheese slope and 1x1 tile era) and have minimal large parts since those are the most expensive (ugly rock pieces, large or raised baseplates, 8 stud + dimension bricks, huge transparent panels and what have you) Old lego sets (compared to current) have very low parts counts for their price and would compare horribly ($80 for 350? $100 for 450? ehhhh...) Some older molds are also retired/destroyed and are incredibly expensive to create, especially when the part is very large. Larger parts = larger mold = more tolerances to check, and more plastic to use. I remember reading designer blogs about new lego hires being surprised at the cost of some parts when they tried to include them in sets - you can get a bit more of an idea for this if you shop at bricks and pieces as well. One mold I presume destroyed is the M-Tron Mega Core Magnetizer's wheels, which are already expensive anyway. It was produced in 3 sets, the Magnetizer, ISD, and a Mars Mission rover. These are the biggest plastic space rover wheels made by lego - haven't been in a set for some time. Fun fact: a knockoff's ISD uses a SMALLER wheel mold on their ISD! Probably means that mold is gone for good, like many other large, old parts. We could also talk about how technic's wheel and tire assemblies have changed in quality / size over time, but I'm a bit less versed in that. Monorail molds are destroyed. People have been wanting them for years, but the parts are huge and intricate. Large intricate part means not cheap to remake mold, not to mention an isolated motor variant that doesn't fit into their (expensive to produce) power functions. *shoves monorail collection under desk* nevermind that. If monorail was reintroduced, I'd expect (and hope) it to be updated. The switches are honestly terrible anyway. (Side note: secondary market isn't even that expensive for monorails compared to MSRP. You can get either of the two space monorails for $275-$350 ea, complete, fully functioning, instructions included). That's really not bad, for how many people say they want the monorail, then buy a mass produced SW set for a comparable price. This honestly goes for most classic sets - many are not astronomically high to collect or buy, especially when you compare to the prices of non-iconic, new release lego sets. To re-engineer monorail tracks, molds, motor, and produce, there is probably such little margin at ~$300 pricepoint they'd rather just be pumping out jokerlands instead. The newest track system is a roller coaster as seen on the joker manor thing, which honestly is long overdue anyway (especially after the hilarious letdown of the friends coaster). Notice how it's mostly thin plastic? Cheaper than a thick, solid beam like a monorail track. I'd expect more part variants for tracks on this later - this first set introduces them and includes minimal track length (cash in on that new part appeal), once normalized, they will develop and release more based around it (gimmie lift hills, banked turns, and loops! Flexy track!) Knex roller coasters were their cash cow for a long time, might still be for all I know, and it's about time lego found a working model for it, even if we need some more track parts to really make anything cool. I'd love to see a cataloged list of new parts within the past decade (is there a good comprehensive list somewhere?). I'm betting most of them are very small (cheese slopes, pie tiles, tile variants, little plates / clips). Again, very cheap to produce in mass. Bloats part counts. Technic may be a bit of an outlier with large specialized molds (which are still not cheap however). Just to add: remakes are not new! They are tried and true, but will probably become more common. I am not saying every set ever, it's really a convenience and case by case basis thing. More sets in the history catalog, more to choose from. Iconic sets with basic brick inventories (no new molds) are most likely candidates. They rereleased the iconic lego Metroliner Train (and dining cars), and Main Street 6390 from 1980. I sure was happy to get some dining cars.
  38. A bunch of free polys (w/ $20 purchase) at KMart.
