Boston Craigslist buy $150. The ladys ad listed for a week or so with only 2 small pictures and a vague description of what was in the lot. I finally after a week or so inquired about more pictures and being smoke free. She got back to me with a 3rd picture of the books which was sort of underwhelming. She said she was going to update the ad with more pictures and info on how nice the condition is. Good thing I checked the updated ad with multiple pictures showing this was a must buy at 2am this morning. I immediately sent an email saying I'd take the lot and I'd drive the 1.5 hrs to pick up. I was sure by the time I got up at 6am someone else would of sniped it. Well that didn't happen which was great. She replied that we could meet at a TRU. Turns out her 16 yea rold son wanted a computer for school. I see some nice stuff. I'm sure most isn't complete but I really just wanted the train.
  3. So I was browsing Shopgoodwill last night and I saw this lot I was confused why there were so many bags 4,5,6,7 but nothing else earlier. I was trying to figure out what it was. Meanwhile I was also looking at this lot It took me forever to realize that this lot was only half the Death Star (I was thinking the whole thing was in there) with bags 2 and 3 unopened and the other half was in the other lot.
  4. Conditions do NOT exclude LEGO this time. Applicable up to 10 times. Starts tomorrow.

  6. There are many reasons to auction. I am selling a MF auction style and I started it at $1 with no reserve. It gets a lot of eye balls on the auction and it can go higher because people don't want to lose out. Those eyeballs cam also look at me other listings
  7. It's really up to you @eddie412. I never do anything over 16 oz as "free shipping" because I live on the east coast. For me shipping to California vs. shipping to New York can mean the difference between profit and loss. Other say free shipping attracts more buyers to their listings and it works for them. But I will say, in my opinion when selling Lego, 99 times out of 100, selling auction style is for dopes. I have never found it to be of use to me. Search for the item you are selling on eBay and sort for "sold" items. Compare prices of items sold at auction vs. items sold as "Buy-it-Now". You will almost always find BIN will bring a higher price.

  10. Wow glad I stumbled across this thread. I was contacted by this buyer about 2 weeks ago. Left his e-mail address and phone number, so I kept in contact with him through e-mail after that so eBay would have no trace of the convo. He asked me to list sets o would be willing to get rid of, so I did, and he made me an offer. I denied it, made him and counter offer and he denied it, he then made me a counter offer on that and I accepted. I can say with confidence it is not a scam, he was very picky about which sets he wanted, and was pretty petty when haggling the price. I went ahead with it. I got paid over a week ago. He got his delivery, I got my credit card paid off. Nice and easy. I find it hilarious I'm the only one who did business with this guy lol.
  11. Little follow-up: The packages from amazon arrived today Three fullsized Walkers in pristine condition in very nice boxes as well. Got lucky this time
  12. Working on flipping my second MILF (3rd if you include selling my spot in line opening day). Sold the last for $1300 cash locally. Got an email from someone interested, lived less than 10 miles away. Asked them when they'd want to meet. Response was "Can you accept Paypal and ship it?". Told them they were close enough that I can just drop it off. They demanded to pay via Paypal and that I ship the box the less than 10 miles down the road to them. Not sure they could make it more obvious that they were trying to scam me, or they're using stolen funds... either way, I want nothing to do with it.
  13. Not today but a couple days ago. Proposed on the London Eye (they have a package deal for you) She said yes. She puts up with me and lego so it was a no brainer!
  14. Watch at about 0:06 in the video... On the right-side, in front of the Duplo set, we can see a brick-built toy-soldier in the typical Christmas promo packaging! Looks like another promo WINNER again!
  15. I saw a copy of the November LEGO Shop calendar and the 24 in 1 set was there as well. Set number 40253 and looks to be the free gift with $99 purchase from 11/1 - 11/15. The Nutcracker is free with $99 purchase from 11/25 - 11/27.

Yes! My daughter will be excited to get some SW Brickheadz.
  17. I think for Lego, sets like Saturn V doesn't actually offer much in the way of profit. It’s more about giving back to the Lego community by creating cool sets that are inspired by Lego fans and are not actually attached to any theme. The opportunity to create long-term value for Lego is not there in these sets and not worth the extra production cost to increase the amount available for sale. This is just an opinion, I am not an investor or speculator, just an AFOL who enjoys building.
  18. There's a trick to it... officially it's "No!" afaik, since the flyer says "Available In-Store only" the payment must be made at the store, where as on-line ship to store is usually paid during the on-line checkout. BUT if you have a friendly local manager you can order on-line & ship to store, when it arrives & you pick it up, they can do a return and then sell it back to you at the store if the promotion is still available. Sometimes it's the only way to get some items that your local store sells out of before the promotion ends. If you have a Customer Service person in a good mood (lazy) when you pick up your on-line order they often will just give you the freebie if you just mention it so they don't have to process the return.
  19. I find the fact that somebody in the UK would use Craigslist to sell something (other than themselves) more unbelievable than the price to be honest.
  20. Or if you have something really rare and demand is high eg. LE 75192.
  21. I for one am very interested in finding out more about Norma's Jetske's ... keep us posted.
  22. Don't feel that you have to do auction style just because it's ebay. Ebay has changed a lot since its inception and the vast majority of listings on ebay are and have been for some time fixed-price listings. Good luck.
  23. When I get these types of "I buy all your LEGO" messages, I find them impossible to do business with because they want absurdly low prices. I'd be interested to know what you sold and for how much and if you made any profit.
  24. Anyone pick up the Classic Batcave. 28% off $194.. http://amzn.to/2xYIcvS or Walmart https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Super-Heroes-Batman-Classic-TV-Series-Batcave-76052/47348012
  25. It is actually a lot harder to get scammed on a higher dollar set. It requires more limit available on the card if it is a hijacked account and they are scrutinized a lot more. (especially over 1k). For now the switch scammers are not after ebay. That seems to have migrated to Amazon more. Most the scams are the hijacked accounts and those are all covered as long as it is verified and eligible for seller protection. The ones that say they didn't get it are always covered with delivered status and actually have had a good amount now where they just deny the buyer outright from doing it multiple times in the past. Same on the returns now. Lots of people open then try to never send it back and escalate it and they also are losing. The hijacked ones are annoying but it is usually cheaper items under $100 I see it on. Minifigure cases are a high target for whatever reason. Guess they have wide fan bases and easy to resell for them, idk. That is probably the highest rate of hijack scams I see chargebacks opened on. I don't see the point to stop selling items in fear of anything when the exact purpose of the high fees we do pay is for there systems to catch these problem transactions. My fees are going towards them processing my transactions and payments and trying to detect what they can. There will always be something new around any system and it is part of business. That being said I've sold 3 so far for an average of $1367 sales price. Have 1 or 2 more coming in this week. They are still pretty damn hard to get and I don't say that often about any LEGO set.
  26. Just another anecdote...sold a 70321 General Magmar's Siege Machine of Doom about a month ago via FBA. A couple weeks later got a notification of return, and debit to my account. Last week got notification that the returned item was in "unsellable" condition, with the reminder that this inventory must be removed from Amazon immediately (recalled by me, or disposed of). Like most small time sellers, I am shocked to find that if a buyer orders a Lego set from me via FBA, opens it, loses half the pieces, then calls Amazon and says, "I just don't want this anymore... changed my mind", that they will get a full refund as soon as they drop it in the mail. And even once received back at Amazon, after inspection they confirm that it is, in fact, "unsellable", the customer still gets to keep the full refund, and the loss comes out of my pocket. Ah well... you wanna play on the big stage... that's the way it goes... ok... fair enough. So anyway, I learn it will cost me $.50 to recall this item (in spite of the fact that Amazon is offering FREE recalls of all inventory right now... guess it does not apply to unsellable inventory). So I recall it. It arrived today and guess what - it is an absolutely perfect sealed box 70321. Nothing wrong with it. Curiously tho, it is NOT "one of mine". It does not have my SKU barcode on it, but in fact some other kind of barcode from some other seller. My guess is, they ordered from me FBA + Amazon Prime to get it in time for little Timmy's birthday. And then ordered another from an FBM seller... maybe for $10 less? When the second arrived, they returned it as "mine" and pocketed the difference? Still can't understand how Amz decided that it was "unsellable" tho. Maybe not having my barcode on it makes it unsellable? I'd like to raise a little fuss about it, but I guess I should just count my blessings, ...and send it back in.
  27. Could it be this nameless "DUPLO Free Agent Football Quarterback" has a certain resemblance with a real life Free Agent Football Quarterback?... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/bf0ace65-057c-4384-94fc-50ed5e8c5c5d
  28. Got the easy part out of the way - LED strip installed. Re-used the same strip from 10179 without having to modify it. I did of course have to modify the build a bit to fit the wiring without it being too obvious. Had to customize a side panel so it could go through the center, but it covered up pretty well. The strip does have a sticky back to stick it to something, but the pressure from the boat masts is enough to keep it in place with force alone. Made a custom little "holder" for the power box on the interior, and the receiver for the remote is accessible from one of the greebling display holes in the model. Not much i can do about this, needs to be somewhere the remote can talk with it, but it doesn't look all that out of place. And when done it again looks great, this light usually stays on 24/7 and acts as a night light for the living room, so it hides the ugly backside engines a bit Gotta say both this model and 10179 sure make it easy to access the interior to do modifications, all these easy to remove panels are great This LED setup does need to be connected to a power outlet, and last time everyone was telling me to paint the cord the colour of the wall, this time i will, but no i will not decorate the wall like the back of an ISD or a space scene Special guest: Jumbo Tsum Tsum Jabba, he's so awesome, makes a great couch pillow! Next step will be prepping the set for mount "alignment", have to of course remove the whole bottom turret section, reinforce the frame, and make some adjustments to level out the frame a bit as i can already see some differences from 10179 where my current mount build won't work.
  29. I think you're making connections where there are none. If it was the free agent quarterback you're thinking of, he'd surely be kneeling.
  30. Finally got mine! This one will fly across the Atlantic in 12 parsecs ?
  31. Picked this up in Mexico while on business - new sealed $135
  32. He says hello as I sort my stuff out on the floor from this past weekend.
  33. fba - 5x indominus rex $249 today alone. repriced higher. guessing this will be a very in-demand set this holiday season. Trex trackers also moving quickly at $149 - i'm almost out but at $49 buyin, it was a nice medium length profitable hold.

Just got back from there. Wasn't there when I was in London or I would have lol. Sucks for people who have Lester. Going to go from 2,500-3,000 each to like 1,000.

  36. We had a whole thread about this topic and the conclusion was not to use VIP points during 2X VIP. Several calculators and brains fried during the calculations and at least one person feels cheated out of a free Pet Shop.
  37. Even used prices are high. I had no trouble selling a used ghost without a box for £160. That implies that the demand is genuine.
  38. I cancelled my order. Taking too long and I'll just wait for double-VIP and a good promo, or make your own discount at another retailer. No tax at Amazon and using rewards sounds pretty appealing.
  39. Would that be like a wife swap?
  40. I spotted a used R2-D2 10225 on Ebay for $150 + $3.96 shipping. It's the best deal I had seen in a bit and was able to snag it about 20 minutes after they posted it. $150 was my upper limit for this set, so hopefully it arrives and is correct and complete.
  41. Have you ever seen a nutcracker?
  42. Just got 10217 Diagon Alley, and 4842 Hogwarts, used and (hopefully) complete for £215 delivered. I get to build a couple of great sets and double my money afterwards!

6 months it's game over. Better flip ASAP To quote this guy from Wall St: "No, in ten minutes it's history. At four I'm a dinosaur!"

I'll probably regret this, but I'm going to wait until back order comes in to put feelers out. The one sitting in the corner of my room...that I drove 3.5 hours for in the middle of the night (after my wife yelled at me for being "irresponsible and stupid", got in line at 4 am, was escorted out of the mall at 6 am, but was still 1st in line (didn't get anything special)...we have a special bond! I am resigned to the fact that this "early production " doesn't mean anything, but it still has a special place in my heart, and wallet! We'll see. I will at least be able to get my money back sooner or later. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all of the time I've been wasting refreshing my order status 274 times a day once it does ship.....
  45. RE: investment. I'd probably take it outside the context of the popularity of any movie based sets. This is just a great standalone build that would fit in well with pirate ship's. A detailed design rather than crazy ott design of seacow. I guess it really depends on how long its around for but I'm optimistic. Put it this way, I'm no ninjago fan but this was a day one purchase for me.
