Sorry, you're right .. I don't own any of those bootleg fakes so I can only judge on what I see or read. PS Oversized copy is not identical, but now we're getting technical aren't we? What I see is fakes and copies and sellers who are skirting the laws overtly. See, the thing is that you may not agree with the premise of buying for the quick flip around here but it's 100% LEGAL to do so. Copying someone else's product/design without permission, marketing it as the real thing by copying their logo and marketing materials, selling them with the promise of getting around tax laws .... NOT LEGAL. Every single member of this forum who has posted illegal ways of obtaining discounts or selling their product has: 1. had their posts deleted 2. been warned or banned from posting without approval 3. been outright banned from the site My comment is simply ... I love those fan-made products that do not claim to be authentic products. They take a real idea and make it better (I have not the time nor the money nor the desire to collect them, but many do). Licensing? That's an issue for another day .. That local collector that I've traded/bought/sold with showed me on the back of the Takara Tomy boxes the TWO Chinese symbols/letters/words (not sure what to call them, I do not speak Chinese) that are different on the KO packaging. They are buried in the back near the UPC symbol. That is legit unscrupulous branding and packaging. How many people likely have those thinking they are genuine? If those asshats who made bogus bricks made their OWN designs of the UCS Millennium Falcon and it was better, go for it... sell it, make a profit. Then you can deal with Disney and licensing. But when they piggy back their own business plan on the success of someone else ... well, that's poor and unethical if not illegal in many parts of the world. PS I'm not judging you for your beliefs, I'm judging because every single person who has disagreed with you on these forums gets some over the top holier than thou bullshit in response normally avoiding the entire point of the original comments/discussion and directing that conversation in a direction about unsavoury resellers and how nasty we all are. TL;DR When members are asses in the forums, they get modded without question (I'm not perfect, I've been modded myself). Fakes and knockoffs of any kind are not welcome because they're highly questionable, likely unethical and often illegal. Discussion is tolerated because it does affect the LEGO reselling market. That's a pretty bold and jaded statement. Have you ever considered taking a break for a while?6 points

@Val-E, I'm still sitting on 2. @gregpj and @flynnibus, it's an interesting debate (even though you two are in a wrong thread lol) but one issue... @flynnibus can you STOP insulting this community, what the hell makes you think that walking into somebody's house and acting up is ok? Pls don't answer, just go silent period, or leave. I'm sorry but I've had enough of you as many others I'm sure too.3 points

For New Englanders: Bennys is going out of business, everything is 40% off starting today. Most lego got wiped out pretty quickly this morning. I went to a few stores looking for a destinys bounty with no luck. Guess I'll have to wait for Walmart clearance for that. I did get a bb-8, star destroyer, the new at at, case of ninjago movie figs, and a couple elves for personal collection. Also found a friends pop star house for $30. Oh and a Christmas duplo set I didn't know about that looked pretty good.3 points

Hi all, Currently I am at Santioago Island, Cabo Verde for a 5-day project which got me stuck here for almost 3 weeks. Past weekend I decided to go out and enjoy the local hospitality. I am sure the world could learn a lot from these friendly people. Here are some of my pictures:3 points

You're comparing apples and oranges .. I said knock offs. KO versions. Not true third party or fan versions or whatever you want to call them. Many of those are licensed or so totally different (like your Collector Kingdom MP-10) that comparing them is only shoving your head in the sand about the issue of fakes and how so many manufacturers of those fakes STEAL licensed IP, use inferior quality materials and outright LIE in their online advertisements for those products. I have no complaints about manufacturers who sell on their own merits or acknowledge "fan made model" which is common with Transformers. I would much rather buy a real version with paint issues than a fake with paint issues. I would much rather buy less LEGO products with slight color variations in the bricks than bogus bricks that have ZERO quality control measures in the chemical composition of the bricks. And I know that's making a big leap, but the Chinese businesses/manufacturers cut corners - we all know it, we just don't all choose to acknowledge it. PS Your comment about a community of scalpers is 100% uncalled for. If you don't like this community then might I suggest you find somewhere else to post and hang out. Frankly, it's not welcome. PPS I've called out many members over the years about their ethics. PPPS If anyone wants to get a kick out of ethics, read what this seller says about import taxes .. https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Masterpiece-Diecast-Oversized-BestGrey/dp/B018OPZYCQ .. WHAT A LOW LIFE PIECE OF TRASH. ** EDIT: He even stole someone else's photos and just blurred the text out. **3 points

Let's be realistic here. I don't think every one that is up for sale is someone who intended to resell when they queued, however when they are seen going for ridiculous sums you would have to consider listing and grabbing another at RRP. I'm glad the small margin on the standard release meant I didn't have to even contemplate that choice.2 points

I was told that stock is done for the year from a store manager and that they didn't expect to get anymore units in until they fulfilled all the backorders. They sold/pre-sold 15k units already according to her. Because of this they'll print more VIP cards then they planned. Phone person told me that the store has a different distribution center and so many had already been allocated to them. That's why the stores were able to get another shipment. She hinted that there may be more despite what I was told by my local manager. She also mentioned that the next backorders from online orders will be filled Oct 16-20. She has no idea when the next set will be ready. Anyways, hopefully this post doesn't get buried because of moderator approval. Only time will tell if what I was told is accurate???2 points

Hi I am new here but have been following this thread for a while. I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada. and on sept 14th, they had 23 copies of 75192. I did not line up, instead took my chances online and like everyone else, after an hour of server issues I was able to place my order and today it is still 'waiting for stock' last thursday, the lego store in my city had some in, I went and bought one just to secure myself a copy and to ensure I have a perfectly mint box for collecting. they had 5 copies last Thursday. and while those where sold out quickly after wards, today I Called again and they say they got another 6. remind you we only have 1 store in the city. somehow I feel the allocation has something to do with sales? seeing many here a reporting single digit stock count. So the pattern is, Lego will nearly want to restock the store front even if it means online stays out of stock indefinitely. The same with the Saturn V, I was fortunate enough to have stumble into them at my store and I bought one. My brother on the other hand, refused to pick one up when I texted him and so he is out of luck again as he is waiting for the online to be restocked. I also talked to my Lego sales rep and he says Lego has priority restocking the store due to their business model of drawing potential buyers if you visit. So if the UCS falcon is as popular as everyone thinks. the real shortage is online. not at the stores. stores will continue to have regular shipment. I have already seen 3 restocking since sept 14th at my store. This completely does not reflect what is happening shopping online. If anything, I reckon TLG will keep the online status out of stock as long as possible. which means your best chances at buying a copy if you do not have one is at the store on oct 1st, or when ever they get a surprise shipment. I can honestly see TLG keeping their online status out of stock indefinitely.2 points

they do get special shipments other than the normal weekly truck. The sets that came in the beginning of last week were actually direct fedex shipments individually packaged just like you would get from Shop at Home. They actually had the shop at home receipt in them just addressed from LEGO to the particular LEGO store they went to. normally a release day set would be in 2-3 weeks before it went on sale on a exclusive. This one is a bit different obviously so the originals were only in a few days before VIP. Then the fedex shipments came with some small 2-4 shipments. Then Thursday and Friday more came in depending on where you were with quantities ranging from 5-12 for the most part.2 points

just a note the dimensions of a box that are on the box are for the inside shipping size. The actual box is actually always a hair bigger so shippers will measure that box up 1" on all 3 sides which sometimes can put you in another DIM weight. Example 24x20x8 turns into 25x21x9 technically they are like 24.25x20.25.x8.25 but they do round them up2 points

Call eBay and get the return reason changed. Likely picked "missing pieces" or "not as described", which puts the return on you. They can read through your messages and correct it for you. Have had to do it a few times myself.2 points

You're right things require balance .. people have been shut down in the forums for posting "hey, who's with me to jack up the price of X" stock manipulation fraudulent returns tax evasion People have discussed them all and more. All of those behaviors upset the balance of the secondary market and portray Brickpicker as a community in a negative way. Most members here do not want that because it is an unfair picture of how most members conduct themselves but as a society, we pick and choose those negative moments as highlights and expressions of how the world is. It's not about an echo chamber, it's about being polite and truthfully many of your comments about resellers make you come across as an ass passing judgement on everyone who does it. We get enough "bad press" from people on other LEGO fan sites and in my opinion (and many of those here) it is unwarranted. They pick one moment in time and label all resellers as "blood suckers in it just to make a buck." People don't want to read (rightly or wrongly) "And this is why people frown upon resellers and their impact on normal availability... not just "providing a service" " because whether you see it or not, your comment implies 1) you don't agree with it and 2) that it should not have been done in the first place. It was not helpful nor conducive to intelligent conversation - I was surprised to read it and was surprised people let it go so easily. I can provide more examples, please don't make me. But let's get something straight - I agree with much of what you say, just not how you say it. That's been said of me as well, but after four years and at least a half dozen members such as yourself coming here and "telling us how the market works and why people hate us" we tire of it and maybe focus on things we shouldn't. Or maybe we should tell members when they're coming across as pompous and arrogant? Maybe they didn't mean to and we're just providing constructive feedback? Let's call that the Ironbrick effect. He's one of the most notorious members to join in the last couple of years who was constantly telling us we were WRONG, INCORRECT and didn't understand a thing about the secondary market (why it exists or how it works). I call it like I see it, I already said that. It's not about thinking I am superior but I'm not afraid to tell someone the truth about what I see (you should get that, you seem to do that as well). It also wasn't directed at you. It was directed at all those comments people on FB and other LEGO fan sites have said over the years about reseller scum. I have no idea who you are or what your situation is - good on you for paying for your kids college. I am quite a small investor around these parts .. most of our disposable income goes to our kids' activities and travel. Anyways, for all those bored with this .. flynnibus, please feel free to reply but I'll take further replies to PM if needed. I've said my piece ... I'm done.1 point

My FREECASH points disappeared last week, only to return Friday with a clear "in store only" clause. Expiring today. I happened to be relatively close to a KMart in KY, so I popped by to check it out. Indeed, worked like a charm ..... Thanks again for the free LEGO, Kmart! Btw, clearance was still at 30% off, and was all dumped on low shelves towards the front of the store. Luckily there's still more clearance hiding on top shelves, and the bigger and better sets for that matter. Might need to keep an eye out1 point

for us in the North of Mexico, it is easy to go to the US, the border from Monterrey is only 200 Km (130 Miles) away.... and you can legally import tax free from the US into Mexico 5 toys per person.... So no taxes for me.... but if you order anything from any county by FEDEX , DHL , UPS, etc... All of those shipments are taxed no matter what it is (only documents and books do not pay) ... .... and customs has to open it up to check the contents...... and they are savages just like the 75192 from UK that you posted...... So it is mostly a customs issue...1 point

I just have to say, your example of the Mona Lisa is a good one... but Mini Lisa wouldn't have been funnier. I understand why KOs are successful and I agree with you 100% that the original manufacturers often cause it (people who feel entitled and need something don't help this, not everyone can afford a Porsche). I look at Nintendo and the NES Classic - it launched those fake Mini NES Classics with 500 games... but if you've looked at the reviews of the fakes, they aren't all glowing. I am telling you why I do not buy or support KOs. I'd rather have an inferior product from the original manufacturer (or not at all it's really crap) than support companies and sellers who TRY TO FOOL buyers and who openly skirt laws and ethics. And I'm not claiming that I'm perfect .. but I won't support businesses that do it because they can't figure it out on their own. Ok, well if you're going to focus on that solely then I'm sorry I didn't use the word "legal" or "legality" in my original reply. I did use the word "steal" in a follow up post. Does that make you feel better? Reread that line up there .. I don't preach, I'm just telling you what I'm about. I never vilified anyone who chose that route, that is for them to decide. Unauthorized secondary market? What? Seriously - why are you here in these forums? I honestly suggest you find another crowd to hang with if that's how you feel about the concept of investing in or flipping LEGO for profit. I'm judging you on these comments that judge this community as a whole, not whether you own third party and KO products .. just to be clear. That is 100% unfair of you and uncalled for. To get this back into the world of LEGO ... Those bogus brick knockoffs are NOT legal. They are stolen designs and unlicensed IP. Whether LEGO has "caused" this or "encouraged" this is kind of irrelevant .. eBay and Amazon are complicit because they're making money either way. People are happy because they get to have things they wouldn't normally be able to afford. None of that makes it right which is why many members are so disillusioned about how these large companies just don't seem to care.1 point

Definitely loved the movie. My son just got into Cars over the summer and that's what he plays with 90% of the time. I've been tracking down some of the new toys and older cars for his birthday next month. I believe the single primer McQueen hasn't been released in the U.S. yet so that's why it's ridiculously expensive on eBay. You can get it in a 10-pack at TRU I think. Jackson Storm is very popular and wasn't heavily packed in the early assortments. He is continuing to be released in future case assortments so he should be available eventually. If you need one just let me know.1 point

The Collector Kingdom MP-10 is better or as good quality than all the Hasbro/Takara edition MP-10s. I have many of them. Takara Convoy, Takara Nemesis Prime, YOTH Optimus Prime, Hasbro Asia MP-10 reissue. The recent Hasbro MP-10 reissue has been arguably one of the worst. The Weijang OS MP-10 blows them all away. Cloud9's Quake blast is probably the best masterpiece for your dollar figure available. It's amazing and 1/2 to 1/3 the price of an equivalent Takara figure (while MP-29 is a freaking joke). I have Quakeblast, Quakewave, and MP-29 all right next to each other here. Most of the carbot KOs have gotten to the point people would be hard to ID which is the KO. KO Wheeljack for instance, some of the Nissan figures, bumble, or the vans, etc. To the figures with paint QC issues, people seem to forget the takara figures have similar issues too... or just flatout have failures (like MP-9). There are many that are bad... just like there are many first party figures that aren't good.. but to dismiss them all simply because they aren't first party is putting your head in the sand. Some buy the KO simply because Hasbro/Takara failed... And that's one of the points from my other post. The biggest push that gets KO successful is the FAILURE of the first party. When they start gouging customers, start monkeying with availability, start failing on the quality front... they are opening the door for the KOs that are on their tail. With figures like Ironhide... and the insanity of even figures bought overseas pushing $120+ for carbots... people will hit their tipping point. People know now that the KOs are coming quicker and quicker, their quality is nearly on par with the Takara figure.. and will probably be half the cost. Each time Takara misses, KOs gets stronger. Well... I'd be careful about the glass houses when trying to call out ethics when you're in a community of scalpers.1 point
