1. Wow. This might be one of the craziest deals I ever found. I just left Savers (a goodwill type store). Found a big bag of Legos marked $9.99. I had a 30% off coupon, so I paid $7. I wasn't sure what was in the bag, but it was big enough to be worth it to me. Looked like a lot of white and blue so I was assuming some kind of city police stuff. Didn't see any minifigures so I was a little disappointed, but I saw a some numbered bags so that's cool. I got in the truck and open it up. Start pulling out all sealed bags. Lots of white and blue. Oh look, an instruction manual. Woah. It's a freaking UCS R2D2! All bags present and sealed. Instructions never opened.
2. Got in the door from the airport tonight and this was waiting for me... I officially have the best wife ever. I can't believe she went to the store for opening and then dragged this beast through the mall!
3. Awesome. If you could talk just 2 more people into doing the same and ask each of them to talk 2 people into doing the same, etc., that'd be great.
4. All - if you are reading this, I worked out a deal with clintonjoseph about a month ago on a few sets. He was very reasonable and the transaction was very smooth. He threw in a bonus with the package and I'd like to believe this Savers deal was karma returning the favor back to him. This kind of deal couldn't happen to a better guy. Congrats! I'm so happy for you!
5. I think it also really depends on what your intention was when you got into this 'game'. People who climbed on the "Lego Investing" wagon desiring > 100% profit (ROI) at the very least are now getting disappointed and turning away to other possibly more profitable endeavours. On the other hand for people who see Lego more as a hobby (for building and collecting), and selling some extra sets on the side to partly finance purchases for their own collections, have no reason to 'jump ship'. Sure, the days of "easy money" with Lego sets that automatically rose sharply in value over time are over. But it's still possible to find good discounted sets and sell them again at a 50% or better profit after a while.
6. For anyone Interested about what steps you pass the piece count for the 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon and the Taj Mahal then here it is. I worked with a calculator for about 30 minutes going through the instruction booklet to get this information and if it is all accounted for then these would be the steps to surpass each set. For the 10179 LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon you will reach 5197 pieces in bag 12 of 75192 on step 920 which can be found on page 367. For the set 10189 Taj Mahal you will pass over 5922 pieces in bag 13 on step 1027 which can be found on page 398. I am actually adding up the number of pieces in each bag so I may or may not post those piece amounts on here as well.
7. I will keep saying this - some of the best designers working for LEGO, are working on Ninjago.

The writing is on the wall, I decided to get out now while market prices are still (marginally) profitable. Feels good, and the free’d space in the house is a plus. From here forward all LEGO sets will be those we actually want to build.
9. They were all members as well.
10. Only goes to show that the market has shifted from selling big exclusives bought at minimal discount to selling small-to-medium sized sets bought at at least 50% off. I'm still averaging over 100% ROI, and I am very small potatoes.
11. I told you guys a few years ago about how people Crack investing in Lego, and there are alot of guys from 3 years ago that are not on this site no more, there always be people who crack. "As For Emazers well he will start to crack in about 5 years, I said I would stop buying when I was 70, so thats a year and a half. I figure it will take me a good 5-8 years to sell all my stuff. so I will take my half million dollars that I made, if I am still living I guess I will still be doing what I do now, except no selling.
12. Who will be next to crack?
13. Count me out as well. My profit margin has been seriously reduced by the Lego remakes and fakes. I did have my fun over the past few years buying/flipping 30-40 10179's, Carousels and Taj Majals for serious profit especially to international buyers. I have been selling off my 500 plus sets for a year now. Down to about 300. I'm a lifelong Lego fan and will remain a collector.
14. stacks nicely with the TRU speed champions sale which is on ebay for those who can't get to tru today
15. ebay.com Flash Sale $15 off $75+ at eBay Pay for your item with PayPal by 6PM PST Pacific Time on September 21, 2017. Enter the Coupon code in the redemption code field: PSAVE15NOW Nice to use with TRU EBay items that are on sale this week or a Ninjago Movie Minifigure set along with other cheapies. I was able to get a set of minifigures down to $45 using the coupon, sure beats smooshing.
16. Isn't the Guggenheim FLW?
17. Or you could do what I'm doing, which is smaller scale and not very smart. Anybody want 75150s?
18. I have 'cracked' as well. Not only due to market circumstances but also because I need to free up the money to live for me and my family. At its peak my investment collection was at 540 sets. Now I am down to about 220 sets. Selling the big exclusives is harder than I thought. Eventhough I mostly only offer pick-up. My prices are very competitive. But still the market for them big exclusives seems stuck. I will sell almost everything. Except some sets I want to build and use for my city lay-out. Star Wars and others will have to go. Maybe in the future, when my situation has changed for the better I will start investing again. But on a much smaller scale and smarter. Depending the market situation at that time offcourse.
19. Hopefully we'll see an "Emazers Vault" video on YouTube like the lego vault.
20. But I don't want to wear pants ☹️
21. I sold 600 sets to one buyer in last month and a half. I have another 100-150 sets to go. After that I will have maybe 50 sets left. It feels great, but I'm not out. As a "non-Amazonian" I will just rethink my whole investing strategy. Hopefully pick up more buyers like that one (Amazon seller) and continue with wholesale operation.
22. Never knew Little Bo Beep went commando ....
23. walmart has Ninjago display cases.
24. batman brickheadz. wanted to see how it sized up in the Ninjago storage/display i built today
25. Just sold a 9678 Twin-pod Cloud Car & Bespin on eBay for $10.88 free shipping! Bought 2-1/2 years ago on clearance for $2.88... after fees and shipping, almost doubled my money... woo hoo!
26. Just sold a 75192 UCS MF for $1400 on a CL sale. I really wanted to build this, but figured it was worth posting at $1,500 and seeing if anyone bites. It wasn't up less than 24 hours. I can wait for my own.
27. Picked up a 310 Esso Station recently and got round to building it. It's in really nice condition for it's age, probably around 55 years old.
28. Considering how many knock-off items have sold on eBay and Amazon, knock-offs are a factor.
29. This is Elkkthunder outside Emazers gaff, waiting for the moment he can hit the estate sale
30. Kids aint need no edumicatation....
31. Just came back from my local store. They said they had 10 today -- I was #6ish. Luckily I went an hour early to line up. Everyone in line had a call yesterday to pick up set at opening time, but did not mention it was first come first serve. The wait list is now rescinded. So basically the 'wait list' was just a complimentary heads-up call. Box is huge; won't fit in the trunk!
32. For me Lego itself is an investment to spent some of my bitcoin profit on (diversifying). I think the game just change from short term to long term and I'm ready for that.
33. So I had been trying to sell a ucs y-wing with box but no instructions that I had about $200 in. Not much luck so I decided to buy another one Made an offer of $317 shipped on one with instructions but no box which was accepted. I took the box off my auction and lowered the buy it now to $379 (from $499 obo with box) and it quickly sold. So now I have a complete set with box and instructions and am well in the black. Pretty happy how it shook out. Have a nice set to build and get listed this weekend
34. It's already started and the prices even seem on the side of one who has potentially cracked...
35. Do you have any children or significant other? Because if you don't and you need a beneficiary....
36. im down w star wars, but a Ninjago one would.have been awesome this year with the movie
37. Priceless fake Onion quotes about the real story:
38. Picked this up while breaking my keyboard ordering 75192. Thought I'd share some pictures of the wallmount that I did. Ended up taking down my support structure for the UCS Tie Fighter and harvesting those pieces and a few others I had lying around. The bottom support bears the entire weight of the set while the upper support is purely for stability. Both are on Stage 1, so playtability and "show and tell" are not adversely affected. Next step...lights!
39. This also pairs nicely with either the Duplo train (add $2 filler) or the Heavy Haul Train 60098 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-City-Heavy-Haul-Train-60098-/172818718382?hash=item283ccc5eae:g:fIAAAOSwNw5Zie4- $125 (37.5% off with additional discount)
40. Maybe 5 or so? I was the second one there and people not too far behind me were making some complaints about how the store went about things. Employee told them that the policy was to notify them first, but they couldn't hold them.
41. Last 2 days via craigslist and OfferUp, two different purchases. Paid $600 for retail value of $830. 6 of 7 sets are retired. Boxes on the retired sets are 10 out of 10 on the "minty box" scale. GBHQ is an 8 out of 10. Not a huge % discount overall, but I'm happy with 6 retired sets below MSRP, and reaching my inventory goal on the GBHQ (1). Set # Name MSRP 75827 Ghostbusters HQ $350.00 10236 ** UCS Ewok Village $250.00 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium $100.00 75093 Death Star Final Duel $80.00 75049 Snowspeeder $30.00 75074 Snowspeeder - MicroFighters Ser. 2 $10.00 75075 AT-AT - MicroFighters Ser. 2 $10.00
42. Is there a reason why you're expecting it to get canceled? looks like a typical TRU sale to me it was that same price a couple months ago if not 40% can't remember.
