Working on my city Elevation. Had to walk away for a while.
  2. Brickpicker Raffle 2018 Sneak Peek
  3. First off, Irma sucks. Things are pretty boring with no power, so I've been building some sets. The Batmobile was from a CL lot I got last week, that I already built a Brick Bounty from. The Technic BMW is from my "new sets to build" pile. And the Simpsons is a used one I picked up last year that I hadn't gotten around to yet, only missing one piece.
  4. what you mean that picture or brickpicker in general
  5. This fellow seemed to have missed out.
  6. I'm gonna ask one of my Lego store employees to sign my box.
  7. Be brave you plucky Londoners for this inevitable Leicester Square Lego Moped crimewave tonight! It's going to be like something out of the Purge.
  8. I sold enough of those stupid toys as a 9th grade student in high school to purchase my 1st car! Beats working fast food any day. My mom held all hers and is still donating them to local police stations and hospitals when they need.
  9. Today my computer was giving me some trouble with getting video off of my camera to my computer. So while the files were transferring, I built this old Blacktron 2 set: The Aerial Intruder! It was a nice break from doing the newest Star Wars sets that I've been making my way through for my YouTube channel. There's something about the sets from the 80's/90's space themes that are just awesome (for me).
  10. Good point I've already showed to the RBM those listings with "Signed Boxes" he wasnt impressed on the other hand he was pissed on the Lego marketing team who was responsible for handling this event. Lots of misscomunication but I wont dive into details. Anyway this thing with modular cinema was a PR ball in the park with tongue in cheek. And you swallowed bite big time @Val-E You wanted me to ask him for that. "Please throw the acid on me but not on the box, i have already many bids on my auction! Spare the Box I beg you!
  11. I'm just curious about the schedule myself. For example, what time will the fighting start in the queue, then how long after midnight will it be before the moped acid attackers turn up to claim their bounty? I'm pretty much just gonna sit at home with a beer and buy a drone instead and watch your updates
  12. As long as it says : the man who never sold .
  13. I like to do this at cinemas for unpopular movies
  14. return? You need the capital back or something? Just a little hint on why to hold.
  15. Which one of those blokes is @TabbyBoy?
  16. I was right there with you. We had just moved, and hadn't had a chance to unbox and rebuild all our sets, so Irma became a lego building party for me, the wife, and the kids. 30 sets pieced back together. As a reward, we unboxed and built Tie Striker, Droid Escape Pod, Clone Turbo Tank, and I started the Saturn V (but didn't finish yet, as I had to clean up the fallen trees in the yard :()
  17. People already queuing up at Leicester Sq. Queue already has about 15 people. At this rate unless you get there by early afternoon forget about it. And just to get a cheap display case and two signatures. It's also going to be blustery, cold and possibly raining later this evening. Good luck to them.
  18. ^ time machine works both ways I see
  19. Wife built this little guy.
  20. Let Jeff and I know if any of you have video of the riot at the LEGO store after they run out of Falcons. We will post it on the site.
  21. It's 35lbs, not like you are dragging a bag of cement through the streets. If you can't lift/carry 35lbs, you still have a few hours to do some bicep curls and get swol.
  22. I'm busy working out how early to get up yet still find that the set was available 30 minutes earlier and is now OOS.
  23. Ask Ed Mack to sign it. Will be priceless!!
  24. Glad I at least got to squeeze a little juice from this before everyone caught on. I still have a feeling we night see another 40139 mega jump perhaps either during the holiday shopping rush or something. Can we do this again next year for 40223 Snow Globe?
  25. So you are there then? :-) What number are you? First 100 are going to be happy since the display case is something special. Will have a unique serial with prefix 1138 paying homage to Lucas film and the next digit will be 0 to 100.
  26. That reminds me, if you're on a long-haul flight with a mogwai when should you stop feeding them? Asking for a friend.
  27. Don´t torture the poor guy, he´s missed two Windows already - if he has any worse luck he´ll catch Windows 8.
  28. How many of these do you have? They are 0 sellers away from 5xRRP.... https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Bionicle-Ekimu-Maker-71312/dp/B01I4PB498/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1505319106&sr=1-1&keywords=lego+71312
  29. Yeah, it´s us. We were only 21 when that queue started, though.
  30. According to this rare picture of our "gems" those old farts in the middle might both @TabbyBoy and @Val-E
  31. How many of those plucky MILF lovers are carrying 700 GBP in cash on them?
  32. Follow on to yesterday, here's what was inside all those bags of parts:
  33. You make zero sense. Right now, people have been cleaning house in Walmart for a while. The Walmart clearance thread was the most popular thread for a while. Then it was the anticipation of the new Falcon. Online deals have been so so. Amazon leads the way in many cases with others matching, or Amazon coming down to match. Max Profit posts an update once every three hours. If nothing happens in between those three hours, then what can I do. All that bot does is update anything that has dropped in the past couple of hours, whats the big deal about that. If I stopped Max, then I would have just as many people complain that it is gone. Ignore his posts and your life will be forever better. Maybe the updated Max Profit posts I release in a little bit will be more worth your time. I will continue to put them out there. If people find help from them then good, if you don't like them there is a way to ignore them. So everyone should be happy. What are we really missing out there? Things are different today than they were two years ago.
  34. Can't say that deals are abundant right now, but it will pick-up. On that note, some of the clearance threads have been very active this year.
  35. Yeah, I think that web has identified the source for all this madness. Below is the original FB post from 4th September that seems to have started the run by linking the set to the Amazon affiliate buy page. Amazon prices moved upwards from the 5th, so they are clearly related. It has gone viral with over 1.5 million views and 10k comments (brickpicker even gets mentioned as well as lots of hate for resellers and talk about Lego firing people and charging too much for this set). https://www.facebook.com/SmartSchoolHouse/?hc_ref=ARRUlp7AAJiY_r6UMn3DmKW4ZnsFzkjDbgOtLBD4fAtv-rIvxqx3bF3CDC8XgVk2T70&fref=nf I guess once the fuss over the post dies down and people move on to the next thing, prices will fall back to 50/60 USD. Sales rank has already slipped on Amazon. Good business for those who sold in the right window, though.
  36. Finished Old Fishing Store, and it went perfectly on the mantle:
  37. Finally got ahold of my most wanted set, now I can get to work on my Halloween display with HH, VC, all Scooby sets, and the Simpsons house going to make a cul du sac with them full of trick or treaters (every minifig I have that looks like a costume) PS: if you need two Chima clocks still in box, I've got a deal for you.
  38. My guess would be 12 est. just like any other early vip release.
  39. If it gets really out of hand I can see the local police intervening and shutting it down. Last thing they want is hundreds of people milling around at midnight with no more than a few private security controlling it.
  40. I've been placing a number of Bricklink orders the last few days, to get my butt moving on some projects that have stalled. Didn't expect to see all of this stuff into my mailbox last night:
  41. Yeah, there are 3 types of comments: a.(easily influenced soccer mom) Take my money, I need this set and look friends maybe your kids should get one too. b.(pragmatic) Lego is too expensive, no wonder they are firing people. I could buy a hundred edible gingerbread houses for the same money c.(opportunistic) This set is retired so secondary market reseller prices apply - by the way I have one for sale for just 99 USD if anyone is interested. The post came from 4th September and the big price rise on Amazon started that same day - I guess she must have been paid to influence by someone who had a vested interest or a lot of stock to clear. We don´t have date by date sales on Bricklink but it´s clear the mass buying happened in early September because the August monthly sales were on a par with previous months. Ebay data shows less than one sale per day up until the afternoon of 4th September (European time) then MULTIPLE SALES PER HOUR that same day carrying on through to the weekend. Guess she is very good at influencing people and should really be hired by Trump ASAP.
  42. I was doing some shopping at my favorite Target today. It is worth mentioning that I was there two days ago, and they didn't have anything worthwhile LEGO-wise. Being the eternal LEGO optimist, I decide to check the LEGO aisle again. And there it was...on the top shelf, all by itself, with rays of sunlight beaming down on it. The Zombies 9465! Now before anyone gets too excited, the box is in pretty bad shape. I'm talking maybe a 6/10 for condition. Regardless, I was beside myself with excitement. Horrible condition aside, the good news didn't stop there. I got to the checkout, fully prepared to pay $39.99 for it. Then it rung up at $27.98! On top of this, I found a Desert Skiff set that someone had returned. It was on clearance for $17.48. Also a pretty sweet deal! The point of this thread is not to gloat, no sir! The moral here is that if you live close enough to a retail outfit that carries LEGO, it would benefit you to check back as frequently as possible. I never thought I was going to come across these two sets today. I was prepared to feel the disappointment that has been more common lately than not. I hope everyone who reads this has a similar experience soon! Happy hunting everyone!
