Buy in was AUD$17.20 each (AUD RRP $30). Profit per item has ranged from AUD$13 - AUD$30 due to eBay FVF discounts and postage discounts.

Actually, the First Order Snowspeeder is in the movie, all be it for about 2 seconds. You see it in the background when Rey and Finn enter Star Killer Base just before Han is killed. It being in the background would have occurred just after a weird snowspeeder chase scene which was cut, as you said.

Examine the selling history of this set - Anyone looking to accumulate them at these prices deserves what's coming.

I'm not mad at this set. I bought three, all at MSRP and directly from Lego SAH. I got some kind of freebie with each, but I can't remember what exactly. I sold two for $260 each, and each during an eBay promo where I only paid $5 in fees. After paypal and shipping I probably cleared about $60-70 total profit. Definitely nothing to get excited about but It means that the cost of my personal copy (that I really look forward to building some day) was about $140 before factoring in the VIP points and freebies I earned, and that's okay with me. #notgreedy

well now I really want them to change my name in the system to QF LL I probably could get it done too, that would be iconic...

the new falcon. I am excited about it. I am thrilled what it looks like. I cannot afford the old one. the newer one looks more detailed to me. I am happy to pay $800 to get this one and I do not care about its collectible long term value and what I can sell it for. I want to build it with my family and enjoy it. as a toy. I think there will be many people like me. yes things could be improved better or this or that but bottom line is I am thrilled and glad they released it. Yes I buy sell lego. this set is not about that to me. it is about fun. that is new thinking I know.

If something appears to be ridiculously over valued, then it probably is. As always, the people who are buying up the expensive ones now with the idea that they can double their money by Xmas are the ones who are likely to suffer. If someone out there really wants to pay over 200 USD for one for a personal build or gift, then they are clearly a valued customer/fruitcake and you should make damn sure to sell them anything else you can - 10179´s, Chima Fire Bikes, Collector´s Edition City Fire stations....

I bought one on Bricklink just over a week ago for $21 shipped. It is used but was complete with box and instructions. Right now I feel like I got it for a steal!

I sold a ton of them for $100 last Christmas. I remember telling my wife I knew they'd go higher, but something just didn't feel right selling them for that. I felt 'dirty' for selling them at $100. I'd have to go to confession if I sold them for $200+.

Ok I think I have decided I will *try* and get it on the 14th instead of Double VIP points. I mean $40 isn't really that much back from $800. Plus, if there is any set I've been waiting to spend my VIP points on, it's THIS set. Nothing next year sounds too interesting so far... I really want the black card and whatever benefits I get from it! So.... yeah! EDIT: Does anyone know if the black card thing is online? Or is it in-store only, both in-store and online...

Yes - A legacy similar to that of the tulip bulb.

I stopped buying modulars with PR so you might be right about future changes. Big issue with these sets is the ever expanding range with a new one every year plus a couple of sets that can fit in a modular city too. That removes the aura the original ones had. Fake copies and longer lives have not helped much either. We really need a suprise retirement to breathe life into this range for investors but it seems they are doing exactly the opposite by advertisig retirement well ahead of time.

Those bp'ers with the negativity will probably be the first to buy on day one.. jmho

I see this set lasting til at least Christmas, why would tell retire in just a few months. With 1000's of people still complaining about about they still can't get one.

I think that all depends on how it sells... They remade 10179 due to DEMAND (as shown by activity and pricing of the old set). Plus it's now Disney branded. I would say that we have the Death Star to look at first. This is a better scenario as the Remake is substantially better than the original in my opinion. The Death Star obviously saw almost no change and was primarily just a rebranding by Disney. If they go on to remake that on top of it being rebranded then I guess our answer is that we should expect another Falcon sometime

Buy $800 worth of small sets from 2016. Sell in 2018. Rinse, repeat until signs of 75192 retiring start popping up. Then buy 75192.

Yeah that's what I've heard everywhere else as well. Even my local LEGO store shared they would have some, just don't know yet how many. The inconsistency of information is really confusing.

Finished. Well I guess I need to see the movie as there is a lot of build here that I have no clue what it is. Besides being an amazing display set, it is very busy and seems to have something different to look at each time, there are some awesome modules that have great detail on the inside that you do not see unless you take them apart and explore, like Lloyd's apartment that just looks like a plain yellow building from the outside and the comic book store. It is not your classic Ninjago set and I still think ToA is my favorite in the theme. It is also not a classic Modular where you build one floor at a time, rather you build separate modules that attach to make up the floors. I think they did a great job of recreating the city from the movie using new elements, elements in new colors and existing elements in new ways, but will have to wait to see it. I am going to add the Ninjago green dragon 70612 tonight and some lampposts from the city chase 70607 should be arriving Monday. You get a lot for $300 with over 4860 elements, 16 minifigs, sweep and 2 suprise figs that are part of the build.

Finally got around to starting this last night. Did bags 1&2, no stickers yet, KAI and KONRAD figs with his fishing boat. A couple of elements in new colors to me they may be in some mixels or friends sets that I haven't built and one new element that is covered. Took me longer then expected because I had to line up all the imprints on the translucent light blue elements but looks nice. Plan on bags 3& 4 tonight.

Nice set. Definitely a double VIP or more purchase for me. After spending some time here I never buy anything day 1.
