  1. Now they only have 1399 more people to ax..

    It came in a box?
  3. Target app let me order/ship these: #76080 GOTG Ayesha's Revenge @ $19.19 (-36%) #76079 GOTG Ravager Attack @ $13.60 (-31%)
  4. You just need to pray the winner is not a 0 feedback user from North Korea.
  5. Yes. When they pack it & place the air pillows in & it clearly doesn't fit, they then push down the box, damaging the item as they close it. Seal it & send it on its way. It's happened more than once to me.
  6. Wife built this little guy.
  7. I prefer packing paper over the pillows. The paper can give before the box does; the pillows, when overstuffed, clobber the poor box.
  8. So I decided to make my own MOC of the falcon because I couldn't wait.... Sending it to Lego Ideas for the 10 year remake of this one....
  9. Even so. You just gave up a career of salary in addition to Early Access to Lego sets for the rest of your life in addition to whatever discounts they receive. Is that all worth a screenshot? Hell no. Lol But he obviously forgot to omit the store ID so I guess his intelligence is suspect anyways. LOL
  10. For me they should have changed the design of that rear section completely with the modern building techniques available. This guy nailed the rear..... giggity giggity
  11. I don't understand all this hate for the Falcon's rear end. It's no worse than on 10179, and arguably the blue tubes are a better representation of the actual engines from the movies. 10179 rear 75192 rear (photo taken by @jstodda earlier in this thread) Rear of Falcon from SW: A New Hope Rear of Falcon from SW: The Force Awakens
  12. Part of 10179's value, IMO, was the idea that TLG was unlikely to ever make something like that again. People made the decision to shell out for a collectible and conversation piece (There's a winery/brewery near me that has the MF and SSD displayed in the tasting room. Never fails to get comments). Now that people know that TLG can or will redo sets, it will be interesting to see the value of 75192 in 5 to 7 years when the rumors begin again. If an AFOL misses out on it this time (even assuming that the window closes), will they be willing to be that person who bought it for $5000 in 2022 when they might get another chance for the 50th anniversary? I'm still planning on trying to get at least one to hold long-term, but I don't expect a repeat of 10179's performance.
  13. A LEGO store retail associate or low level manager is not exactly a high-paying gig.
  14. MF'17, Long term investment? hum. This is a very long term hold prospect. I would say minimum 5 year hold to see any kind of major profit. Of course, holiday flips are always great and will sell if priced accordingly. The UCS 10179 climbed higher and higher...but the minute the rumors started about the '17 version the (reseller) price started the fall. In the past three months alone, the average price for 10179 has fallen from $4500 to $2500. This is expected. Why would anyone pay $2500 or more for a "NEW" set that is going to sell for $800? Lego will make it again. Maybe again, in 2027 we see the 3rd version and the same cycle will repeat it self. In the end, If you have money to invest in multiple sets (like I do) and are ok having $800+ sitting in a corner...then by all means do it. Good luck, Invest wisely & happy building.

Lucky you because that SW promo explicitly excluded LEGO ....
  16. Pet Shop built and added to the collection. Town Hall up next.
  17. I didn't order a single thing from lego.com this time around. Just got a AOH off the zon' . . . . I did want the minifigure, but it was gone after the first day so I didn't move quick enough. I was too busy running around scarfing up black series and hot wheels for my son... Unfortunately, a lot of the new lego sets took a "meh" tone with him. And of course I felt a bit the same way. Regardless, the sale was pretty telling in which sets are going, and which ones will stick around.
  18. everything that was sold out or c2c at LEGO Shop at Home is now back to backordered.
  19. Yes. They ship out the good boxes first and end with the worst box conditions. So we should see retirement in a month.
  20. This set immediately caught my eye when the first pictures were leaked. After I saw Jang's review video I'm even more positive about this set. But ... as Jang mentions as well, this set is overpriced. So I'm going to wait this out till I can get it at a good discount. 40% off should be attainable by waiting for the right promo/discount to come along.
  21. Finished Old Fishing Store, and it went perfectly on the mantle:
  22. So basically the 75192 uses a plus 20 piece count the 10179 uses 324 piece engine build..... but marshals rear engine design is absolutely incredible...what would you say?....over 1000 pieces?(rear engine only)Totally for that build? is it worth it? I say...Oooooo yeah!!!??totally nailed! Ive decided....I'm building that beast-lol ....darned if I'm gonna let the ucs hoth assault designer guy tell me what to display in MY office-?
  23. It's a Hot Buy, coupons won't work online. But http://shc.cpn2c.co/RecomService/web/bE3R does have $5 off $35 if you want to try your luck in store. Otherwise it's cheaper elsewhere for now.

  25. Devil's advocate. Are we all willing to pay the extra $100/$200 for a well done rear end, extra pages to a manual, additional bricks etc etc!? Lol. Where does it end!? We'd be arguing the flat bottom and lack of greebling. So now it's a $1000 set lol

  27. Archiving? Ha. That was kind of what I thought it was for but wasn't sure. Getting better at the platform and have had 3 orders so far. My only issue will be keeping up a decent inventory since I want to stay specialized with what I sell. If there aren't decent lots to buy around me my personal inventory will only last so long.
  28. Then it would be better to be a shelf stacker in @exciter1´s local Walmart.
  29. I see at least 10-15x increase. So if you can keep you with demand and have the right items you should be doing 5 figures in December . Key is to keep items in stock
  30. I see this set lasting til at least Christmas, why would tell retire in just a few months. With 1000's of people still complaining about about they still can't get one.
  31. In the US, I have more issues with too much padding. They overstuff the box and the contents get smooshed.
  32. One page back... but thanks for bringing it up again! It is an interesting read

15% off code that they force applied plus additional 15% for the 20 minute phone call to customer service. They only hit my debit for 70 plus tax
  34. You really think they will remake it (again) when there are so many other possibilities within the SW Universe, let alone any other UCS possibility?
  35. In stores the mall said it would be 10am... But the line would start prior to that obviously
  36. Well on that note (as a personal collector) I will buy as soon as I find the price reasonable enough. But that doesn't mean that if it's not reasonable I won't buy it because I've been wanting the previous one for years but it's been super expensive so I definitely won't miss out this time!!!

    Bumble $3.25 x7 Batgirl $5 x5 Robin $3.50 x2 Wither $11 x2 Tie Fighter $35 x2
  38. I think there's been hints of a cloud city coming too next year... So, I think that AOH going away would not be too shocking. It's a set that hasn't really gotten a lot of love, although who knows how well it has sold. I personally don't hate it, myself and think it's one of those sets that kids especially will get months of play value out of. I just haven't bought any until yesterday. Where will it go as an investment? Well, judging from Lego Star Wars history, sets related to the Battle of Hoth have traditionally done very well. I also am in agreement that with the Han Solo film coming up, and with the MF, and Boba Fett rumored to be in the film, I just think they would be smart to hold the Slave 1 a little while longer. Why retire that one when it's popular and the movie will give it further legs.
  39. Ok so time for a thermometer test: 99% sure: Simpsons sets, TIE Fighter, Palace Cinema, WInter Toy Shop, Batcave, ToA, SHIELD (8) 50% sure: AoH, Slave1 (2) outside bets: T1, Tower Bridge, Minecraft Village, Mini, Parisian Restaurant, Fairground wheel (6)
  40. Finally got ahold of my most wanted set, now I can get to work on my Halloween display with HH, VC, all Scooby sets, and the Simpsons house going to make a cul du sac with them full of trick or treaters (every minifig I have that looks like a costume) PS: if you need two Chima clocks still in box, I've got a deal for you.
  41. I see you still need to be converted to the AFOD view of things.
  42. I'm no expert, but just sharing a recent similar experience... I was trying to sell a Sandcrawler about a month ago. The main listing was restricted (... or had it been temporarily disabled?... I can't recall). Anyway, sent mine in under the (open) secondary listing. About 3 weeks later, Amazon shut down that listing, and put my Sandcrawler in "unfillable" inventory. I had to recall it from their warehouse... got it back, a couple weeks later, a bit more dented up than I had sent it.
