  1. LEGO could have taken care of all of this nonsense with a "First Edition" set. The first 10,000 (or whatever) made would have special markings and would sell worldwide...in store and online. VIP cards and mystery sets and other BS giveaways that some get and others don't are a waste of time. If they really were smart, they would have made this first run of sets uber desirable. The buzz would have been tremendous. Many will now wait for deals...and they will come...trust me. After the initial contrived shortages to stir up interest on LEGO forums, there will be plenty to be had by everyone.
  2. Found a TMNT Lair for $10 at WM. Box beat to hell. All was there and my 4 yo was ecstatic.

These models were shipped assembled/glued from LEGO to all LBR stores in the US for display. Either your store is extremely unlucky or your store's manager is a dumbass and misread the instructions from corporate and is still hiding it in the back.
  4. I had one at New Years, but it fell through.
  5. Yea, we're almost sold out!
  6. it tells me u need a better resolution
  7. No luck for me :-( but a nice consolation prize!
  8. That actually helped me. 2017 looks much nicer when compared.
  9. It's amazing how many ideas come out for what could have been done with this set. It's great that they added all this detail, but yes, they should have taken it that extra step and invested in the box, lighting, who knows maybe some motorized features. Stuff that dreams are made of. Yes I love it, but for $800, it could have still been better. Maybe in 10 years.
  10. 14 sets to be exact..... I drive between Monterrey and San antonio quite often.... I just adjusted work to get there on Thursday night ( had to pick the Saturn that day) , and be early Friday in the store for Force Day..... I took the family and had a good time in the Store friday..... they had Star Wars characters.... A Scarif Stormtrooper and an astromech , a black one, I do not know the name of it.... really cool...
  11. Ed?... cause when you are at the bar and conveniently mistake your Star Wars VIP black card for your Metal American Express card .. and go "OopS!" you'll have unleashed the biggest Chick magnet Ever and They Will Bow and a round of applause and looks of Envy...... ??Naww you're right ...probably get a wedgie instead.... ???
  12. What's a "Special Edition" VIP card worth? Nothing, because it will have you name on it. LOL.
  13. from past experience a lot of lego store employees don't know *anything* Anything

LOL, the first thing i thought of after watching the time lapse is that even a 350k piece set comes with friggin stickers!
  15. Carbon Freeze has been 3rd party for 2 months, still 100+ selllers
  16. My Lego store handed me those "exclusive" posters with purchase for just staring at the display. Rep came up to me and was like do you want yesterday and today's poster so you can go home and stare.... LOL.... rude
  17. I got your LED for ya. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-4-ft-led-tape-light/5777900.p?skuId=5777900#spoke/reviews
  18. Finally got ahold of my most wanted set, now I can get to work on my Halloween display with HH, VC, all Scooby sets, and the Simpsons house going to make a cul du sac with them full of trick or treaters (every minifig I have that looks like a costume) PS: if you need two Chima clocks still in box, I've got a deal for you.
  19. TLNM minifig set with the 2 for $5 at TRU.
  20. I was working on a new book "LEGO Investing For Dummies" I have decided to change the title to "LEGO Investing Is For Dummies"
  21. Annual family trip to Chicago, annual family "buy LEGO sets for RRP" at the LEGO store (well, this time LLDC in Schaumburg). My son bought a Minecraft Mushroom Island and my daughter got the Friends Hot Chocolate van. 5% off with VIP card, and I threw in a Halloween Seasonal set (the new one) for $10 to qualify for an R3-M2. Politely asked for another one and the girl obliged, saying "we're not supposed to but many people have been refusing theirs". Hopefully that will alleviate the shock of having to pay full price for LEGO ....
  22. First time post here! There were about 6 of these at the Mission Viejo Lego store in SoCal. Went to get a Slave 1 and saw them... had to grab one! Had my pick of the litter
  23. In the last 5 years or so, I honestly cant remember buying anything from the Lego Store without some sort of discount, double VIP points, and/or free gift. I really don't want to start now, especially with the most expensive set ever. After seeing the set displayed in store this morning some of the mystique of all this hype has worn off for me. Unless there's something special for launch-day or they make the first run numbered or similar, I may just wait out until the discounts/deals become available. Right now I have a long list of sets to purchase and a backlog of sets to built. I haven't even picked up the Snowspeeder yet! But.....I really do want this set. Even my wife wants me to buy it for "our collection". I've come close on two separate occasions to picking up a 10179 recently.
  24. I like hearing it will be triple boxed when shipped. A promo would have been nice to sell and soften the blow on price.
  25. Got rid all 5-6 of mine and lost about $10-$15 each on investment. Better off lose some now and use the cash flow to invest in other better potential sets. This ToO set is finished. Not even worth the time waiting for it for go up $20 in a few years.
  26. While really enjoy reading thrbrickfan.com but i'm not a fan of that article. 1) create drama when it's not needed. 2) i hope lego isn't pulling a nintendo with a 'flagship' product.
  27. Came across this and was wondering when we'll be getting a UCS Ferrari F1 car. Or perhaps one on the same scale as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Although my wife already says my LEGO are taking up too much space if I had this I'd willingly park it outside. Anyone else? http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/a28013/this-life-size-ferrari-formula-one-car-is-made-of-350000-lego-bricks/ LEGO Speed Champions - Scuderia Ferrari SF16-H 75879 BTW, on the popular mechanic's page, there is a similar life-sized build for the McLaren 720S.
  28. 17.49 online at target. With red card get three for $50 or so.
  29. Ok so time for a thermometer test: 99% sure: Simpsons sets, TIE Fighter, Palace Cinema, WInter Toy Shop, Batcave, ToA, SHIELD (8) 50% sure: AoH, Slave1 (2) outside bets: T1, Tower Bridge, Minecraft Village, Mini, Parisian Restaurant, Fairground wheel (6)
  30. Saturn V on amazon for msrp
  31. Guest
Not sure about the TIE Fighter 75095 or the Assault on Hoth 75098 but the Slave I 75060 is most likely due to retire this year and probably the TIE 75095 will as well but who really knows what TLG will do. This is really all based on past retired sets.
  32. Not the flashiest deal around, but TRU is running a B1G1 40% off and 75151 Battle on Scarif is part of the sale at the reduced price of 39.99. You can get 2 @ 63.98 which is 36% off.
  33. Also why is the space slug set pictured side by side?
  34. Guest
Problem is getting it back stab free

  37. I usually put a bit of dish soap in the brick bath too, but this is dead on the money.
  38. Finished Mirko's U-Wing. I think this rivals the Nebulon.
  39. Oh lord, I thought that was the B-Wing?
  40. Well, I'd like to believe the official Lego statement about Saturn V to have continued production well into 2018. But... Just to be certain I won't open and build the one box I'm about to receive until it's more available for regular ordering again in LEGO Shop at Home.
