  1. I think what many of us have realized that flipping LEGO sets equates to a minimum wage job for most people.

I know I have 7632, but what's the one on the left? Paid $28 for the Lot.
  4. Because it sells like molasses and they want to clear out. It's caused buzz and sold a fair number of units in the last hour.

  7. Hello...I don't know to what extent you are involved in trying to make money from reselling LEGO sets/bricks, but waiting for glitches is a bad business model. The people who took advantage of the glitch were prepared and waiting for the regular deals to launch. It was not so much luck as it was being informed and taking a chance on potential deals. People grind out money from reselling LEGO sets to lipstick all the time...but they grind it out. They have a plan and put the work in and are ready to pull the trigger. Fortune favors the prepared mind...
  8. https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/304248 Was able to double dip. Got 55 off 60. Was only missing one TFA set. Poes X wing for 4 dollars is ok with me lol. Have to have Amex (not everyone is eligible) if it says: And what it should look like in the cart: Good luck!
  9. Received my Detective's Office, Brick Bank, and Assembly Square Thursday and Caterham via Alexa Friday. Pretty excited to have them in my build queue for the future. Disappointed that I didn't get other stuff like GBHQ, Death Star, etc but am happy I got the 3 sets I wanted the most and not to be too greedy. Besides it ending means I don't end up with a $1000 charge because I don't know if I would've stopped so easily. Assembly Square seems like the set we all pretty much bought from haul pics.

Wow, isn't that pushing your luck a little?? This was a "glitch" purchase, and you complained about the box condition????
  11. And then the mind starts spinning...
  12. Yes, you should absolutely quit. There really weren't any good deals to speak of before the glitch and there most assuredly will not be any moving forward. The end is near.

  14. These Collectable Minifigures and the way of acquiring specific characters has come up in many a conversation, so I thought it would just be simpler to pool our info into this one spot like a "how to" guide for anyone. I'll start off with some things that work for me. 1. Understand the contents All the pieces inside each mystery bag are separated. Sometimes you will have a head get stuck inside a helmet or armor though which can throw off your game. To help reduce that problem or spread out the parts inside, take the packet at the top and shake it bit or gently smack it on the face of your palm. You can do this at the start of each packet you smoosh to feel it out better in the end or if one has you stumped. 2. Rule out the common denominators For the most part save for a select few (Chicken Suit Guy comes to mind) have these common components. 1 head, 1 torso, 1 pair of legs, 1 3x4 stand with 4 studs going across the middle, and 1 pamphlet. Everything else is parts that make up that character which brings me up to the next point. 3. Find out what makes each special It helps to know what parts are truly unique to specific characters. For example, Tomahawk Warrior is the only character from Series 10 with a Mohawk piece so you can feel for that besides the tomahawk weapon. A couple of characters will share a part like say a coffee mug, but they always have one part at least that is unique to them. 4. Feel with your fingers and nails, and do so with your eyes shut Since you are quite literally feeling blind, try to visualize what each piece is by feel using the tips of your fingers and edge of your nails. It can help to feel similar pieces you already own and eventually try doing so without even looking at the part. 5. Research and visualize your target For the stores that put out the retailers box, this makes smooshing much easier because you have an image of each character right in front of you. As for the norm where they just put a bunch of mystery packets on racks, it is much trickier and here is what I do. Look at the images for each Minifigure in the series and study each ones composition. Make a list you can printout showing the name of the character and his or her non common parts. I am going to use the Roman Emperor from Series 9 as an example simply because he is both the easiest and most difficult one to figure out. Roman Emperor - small hairpiece with many grooves, 2x2 tile It is crude but all that matters is it works for you when reading it like your own shorthand. I highlighted the 2x2 tile because out of Series 9, he is the only one with that part. Plus the hairpiece can be confused for some of the others. These are just some tips that help get me going and I tried the best I could to put what has since become second nature to me into words. Since this is a discussion about smooshing techniques, how about you share some of what you do to find the characters you want? Here is an easy method to having a visual aide and list taken from BuckeyeFanDan's reply. Buy any single mystery bag at random, then take out and keep the included pamphlet with you. A perfect reference doubling as a checklist. Brilliant!

  18. Oh my god yes. The lines at CS are constant and move sooooooo ssssllloooowww. Thats what I was trying to avoid. I see everyone price matching stuff here and figured they had to be doing it at the register because no way would they deal with those lines. Plus the CS counter is past the registers, so you have to walk past the registers with unpaid merchandise which always gives me a bad feeling.

  26. Yes, let's have a conference call.
  27. Well that I have no idea .. we know from experience that some of what they do makes no sense at all (10188 for instance). Here, I took the liberty of whipping up the next big fake leak photo for you... I literally just finished it.
  28. I agree 100% as does my son. I don't care if it's a diff universe. The new voices are "meh" in comparison to the show (in general) especially Jay.
  29. Because we’re invested in the existing universe and want the existing universe on the big screen.

  35. I read somewhere that these were going to be 3.99 Euros each, so I'm guessing still $3.99 in the US Take a look here, a few posts down. You can see Red Hood's head - http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/143240-the-lego-batman-movie-setcmf-rumors-discussion/&page=195
  36. My favs: Eraserhead: The printing on the body and head make for an interesting look. The printed tile is cool also. Swimming pool Batman: The molded duck floaty ring is awesome. Commissioner Gordon: The detail on the torso is really cool and the hair piece is nice. Too bad it's just a walkie but at least there is a printed wanted poster of the Joker. Least favs: Orca: Yeah it's a recolored Shark suit guy that's supposed to be a whale now. I understand why they went that route but in the end I smell a little bit of laziness. (At least the head piece is a printed mouth and tongue so that might be good for other costume type minifigs. Joker: (yeah I went there) The face is just not great...what's with the tooth? I guess I might need to see the movie to see if it makes sense. Perhaps there is an alt face on the back. The hairpiece is nice but the rest of the torso might seem a little plain but I guess it can be re-purposed pretty easily with other figs. Fav accessories: Calculator Helmet, Duck Floaty (so awesome), Joker wanted poster Minifig most likely to give me nightmares: Fairy Batman
  37. I like how they're fine giving the villains tommy guns and uzis, but won't give the cops more than a walkie talkie or handcuffs. On a serious note, any chance there could be a head under Red Hood's dome?
  38. I like Eraser's feet. They look like the tip of a pencil.
